Autumn Wishes

Time for a new challenge at Time Out. Challenge #90 is up and running with a theme of autumn with the optional twist of speed stamping. Get the details HERE.

Happy Little Stampers is the challenge sponsor. The winner will be chosen at random from those entrants who twist, and will receive a $15 gift voucher to the Happy Little Stampers Store.

Elaine of Craft-E-Place is Guest Designer for this challenge. Elaine is such a talented artist - you will love a visit to her blog!

I dry embossed a piece of watercolor paper and then sprayed it with some autumn colors. Then I sprayed it with glimmer mist for some shine and put it aside to dry. I did some more die cutting and embossing and put this card together in 8 minutes and 5 seconds (not counting the drying time). I am really pleased with the way it turned out.

So please head over to the Time Out Challenge Blog, see the awesome inspiration that the Design Team has created, and leave them some love. Think Autumn, and try your hand at a quick make and link up your creation in the gallery for a chance to win. Have fun!

I am also playing at:

Shiny gold "autumn" die cut, and over all shine on embossed panel.

Make A Wish

The theme of the current Double D Challenge is SIHLOUETTES. I began to dig though my stash to see what I could find to play with, and I came across Butterfly Kisses from The Craft's Meow. Perfect!

I embossed the fairy image with black EP on Bristol paper. Then I opened up my new Ranger Distress Oxide Inks, watched a few "how to" videos, and created the background. I am so loving these inks!

Courage

The current challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog is to use a window or aperture on your project. When I looked at the gorgeous inspiration photo for the challenge (below), an idea immediately came to mind.

My interpretation is quite literal. Once I had the window and the scene through it finished, I searched through my stash for a fitting sentiment. I found that to be the hardest part with this project. I felt like the woman in the photo is doing some big pondering. When I ran across this one (PTI A Little Inspiration) in my stash, it seemed to be very fitting.

I am also playing at:

Supplies
Stamps - PTI A Little Inspiration
Paper - Tim Holtz Woodgrain Cardstock, SU Soft Sky, SU Early Espresso, PTI Kraft, Neenah Solar White
Ink - VersaFine Onyx Black, Ranger Distress Inks: Wild Honey, Brushed Corduroy, Black Soot, Fossilized Amber
Accessoriies - MISTI, Memory Box Grove Branch Die, Memory Box Small Madison Window Die, Spellbinders Nestabilities Rectangle Dies.

Thanks for stopping by!

You Are Remarkable

Time Out Challenges celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Challenge #67, a special challenge with the Theme of Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Friendship, with an optional optional technique twist:  embossing and/or use pink.

CASual Fridays is the generous and dedicated sponsor of this special challenge. Please head over the the TIME OUT Challenge Blog to get all the details.

Here is my take:

I love this Flourishes stamp that I have had for years. The beauty of it is, you can customize it for any type of Cancer Awareness or sign of hope for any cause. The wonderful sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's Hand Lettered Encouragement.

Cancer touches the lives of most people we know in some way. I am a breast cancer survivor myself, am eternally grateful for all of the funding that goes into research, and all of the events and other ways there are to support it. The fight is critical, but we need to remember, that finding a cure for ALL cancers is the ultimate goal.

The image is watercolored with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

CWS#7 - The sentiment is such a powerful one to me. This card was made for a dear friend who has been through hell and back on her cancer journey. She truly is remarkable.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope your day is remarkable!

HLS July Mixed Media Challenge GD

I am thrilled to be here today as

for The July Mixed Media Challenge for which the theme is:

Here is my take:

Mixed media is not my usual style, so I immersed myself into looking at lots of inspiration pieces to come up with something wonderful for this exciting GD opportunity. I loved it because it really pushed me out of my comfort zone.

To begin the creative process, I reached for my box of "cool things that I can use on a card someday". I came upon this fabulous tag that I saved from a cross body bag that I bought in late winter in a little boutique on Long Beach Island in New Jersey. The designer is Spartina449.

This is the tag:
It was the perfect piece to start with. I added things here and there until I was happy with my panel.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Winnie & Walter-The Big, The Bold and Fun, Hero Arts-Live Well Collage
Inks: VersaMark, VersaFine Black Onyx, PTI Ocean Tides Re-Inker, Yellow Distress Inks
Accessories: Paper Smooches Power Rays Die, Webster's Pages ribbon, Perfect Pearls, Heidi Swap Color Shine-Gold, Tim Holtz-Burlap Layering Stencil, Dreamweaver Embossing White Paste, Glossy Accents, White embossing powder, heat gun.

 Here is my take:

The top of my tag is watercolored then sprayed with Shimmer Mist. The bottom is from a scrap of PP and the inlaid die is done with glittered fun foam. The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers Butterfly Birthday set.

I am also linking up at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme is Anything Goes.

Beautiful Birthday

I came across this new-to-me challenge yesterday, and I was immediately inspired to play. The colors screamed summer flowers to me, so I pulled out a Memory Box Stencil that has been sitting in my stash for a while and inked it. I love the way it came out. But then I decided to tape the stencil down on a fresh piece of watercolor paper, spritz it with lots of water, then blot it with a paper towel. When I lifted the stencil from the paper, this gorgeous panel appeared. The contrast to the first panel is really amazing. The softness of this one is so beautiful. I love it when this kind of wonderful surprise
happens. I used Concord &
9th's Beautiful Words stamps and Beautiful die for the sentiment. Happy Birthday (from same set) is stamped inside.

I sm also linking my card to :

Anything garden related - flower, fruits, vegetables, trees, garden tools...

Thank so much for coming by today.

Look For The Miracles

The AAA Cards Challenge 2nd Big Birthday Bash is still going on until June 4th. If you haven't joined in the fun and festivities, you should go on over. One of the ways to win, is to do the blog hop, comment on each DT blog, and answer the question they pose.  As an AAA DT Member, my question asks what your favorite craft purchase this year has been.  Well, that question surely did end up costing me some money!!!!! LOL. It seems that the top 2 answers are: the MISTI (I have one - it's the bomb), and ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens.  After reading so many rave reviews of these water color pens, I had to have them.  And of course, I needed many other things to go along with them (wink). So here is my first go with my new ZIG watercolor pens and my new SSS Look For The Miracles stamp set. The pens are indeed AMAZING. I'm in love. I hope my Brushos don't get jealous. I will surely get back to them!

I was inspired by the following Challenges:

Time Out Challenge #57 is their 'Inspired by Words' challenge now and our words are:
'May All your weeds be wild flowers'
You can use any of these words to inspire you or perhaps the whole phrase. You might want to go with flowers, wild, weeds or perhaps use the whole phrase looking at how the hard times don't get in the way of the beauty in your life.

I love the sentiment on my card, and it speaks to the fact that even the hardest of times contain gifts.
