Inspiration Post

Hello everyone..Genny here. I'm so excited to have become part of this fantastic team, I don't think that I've stopped smiling yet..lol. This is my first inspiration post..so forgive me if I get it wrong or waffle on too much. I decided to work with wonderful image which is available from the Etsy shop here at SLS Lines. When I begin a project there is always a thought process..and it may begin with the image or sometimes it is with a quote that I have found. On this project it seemed as if both came together. I was looking at this image and thinking just how wistful she looked. There seemed to me that there was a sadness behind her eyes. And then I saw this quote. So it was as if it was meant to be. Another thought that struck me was that normally when I am colouring anything to do with the Day of the Dead I tend to use bright colours but somehow on this image I wanted to use pastel colours. So I did. The frame is from my stash and I covered it with this blue patterned paper, also from my stash. I coloured the lady with my promarkers, cut her out and added it to the frame. I finally added the quote.
I hope that you will enter the current challenge...I think a new one begins tomorrow..so keep your eye on the blog. I have seen some of the fantastic makes by the design team and wow..what a source of inspiration in itself.
Well I'm off for a coffee and a scroll through the etsy store. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

A "Girly" ATC....

Hi SLS Fans!

A quick inspiration post for a challenge blog that SLS Lines are sponsoring this week!

The Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog have a "Girly" themed challenge this week using SLS Lines images and you have the chance to win some images from the store just by entering!

Here's a direct link to this Day of the Dead Girl I have used on my ATC: click here.
She has been coloured with colour pencils and fussy cut then added to a black ATC backing that I swiped around the edges with a white ink pad.

There are lots of SLS Lines images that match the "girly" theme in store so why not pop over and grab some and get creating!

Happy crafting!

Xmas Postcard...

Hi Everyone

Sharon here again sharing some more xmas inspiration - this time something a little different!!!

I hosted a "postcard" swap and the theme was "non-traditional" xmas so I just could not resist using this "Calavera Girl" available at the SLS Lines Etsy Store along with the digital clip art xmas hats!!!

The image was printed on card and I added the hat - before printing of course LOL and I then coloured the image with copic markers (hat already coloured as it is clipart from SLS Lines)!!
I cut to postcard size and added a few layers of varnish to protect it in the post, added a postcard back, wrote a xmas message to my swap partner, added a stamp and posted off - real mail art!!! It arrived safely too!

Hope this may inspire you to think outside the box for xmas!!!

Calavera Girl Day of the Dead with Maureen

For my project today I have chosen the Calavera Girl Day of the Dead image and coloured her with Promarkers. I am unsure what the DP is as it was part of a prize package. The view finder is a Sarah Hurley cut file from the Silhouette Studio. The rosette is Martha Stewart and the card is finished with some black pearlescent candi.
Thanks for looking!

October Inspiration with Suzi

Hello All, Today it is my turn to share a little inspiration piece using one of the gorgeous images available in the store

My project today features one of Sal's gorgeous Day of the Dead Calavera Girls Digital Stamps.

Here's a close up of the beautiful image;
I coloured the image using Letraset Tria and Promarkers, which are my favourite colouring medium at the moment.  I love using Neutral Greys for colouring Black hair, although on this image I did add quite a lot of Black to the hair.  If you want to read more detail about my project them please, visit my blog.

That's all from me for today, Make sure you come back soon to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Design Team.

Bye for now
Suzi
