At the pumpkin patch
Our computer broke on October 31st so I am going to get everyone caught up on the Smith life.
I already posted that We all were clowns for Halloween but on Trick or Treat night Addy wanted to be a ballerina. We were ok with that since we had the costume handy. In the apartments, if you wanted to pass out candy you had to have a flyer on your door that said Trick our treat on it. It was helpful to only go to those doors that had it and not waste our time, although there were only a few houses that were participating. It was plenty for us.
Getting ready to go
Leaving. Trick-or-treat or in Addy terms "A Treat"!! November is a blur now. It just whirled right passed without stopping. lucky for me I took pictures so I could remember a little bit better. The computer broke, the van was having problems, our headphones to the MP3 player broke, the USB cord broke, but there was so much else going on that we hardly noticed.
On November 16th we bought a house! After 16 offers and 16 denials we felt like we would never get one. Lucky for us we had a great Realtor that found us a brand new house, just built 2 weeks earlier. It was semi-staged for a model home. The house is a little further out than we planned on being, but it is so quiet, brand new we did not care. Everything kind-of happened fast after we found the house. All of the sudden we were packing and loading the van and saying good-bye to our apartment.
The stuff that was in storage all summer.
We thought that Addy might have a problem adjusting to the new house, like she did when we moved down here but it was the opposite! She loved it from the beginning and never asked about the apartment again. When we moved to Vegas Addy was not sleeping well at all. She was waking up at strange hours in the night and screaming all of the time. Most of the time she would wake up at 5am and not go back to sleep. The night we came to the new house we were worried she might get scared and do the same thing. I decorated her room and tried to make it cute for her so she would want to spend time in there. Well it worked! She is back to regular sleeping times and wakes up happy and runs into our room and jumps on our bed to wake us up. I will take that any day over screaming.
The house is 3 bedroom with a den, loft and a retreat. It was partly furnished and decorated so we lucked out since we did not have a couch or much furniture at all. We love love love being in our own house.
The best part about moving when we did is that we still got to have our OSU vs Mich party! We moved on Friday and we had the party on Saturday. We had some friends over, ate some breakfast foods and watched a great game.
Addy's game face.
Eating doughnuts.
The ragging party! The next week was Thanksgiving and we got to go up to Utah and spend it at the cabin with Oma and Opa. We had a blast! They had some snow and fun snow toys so we took advantage of that and Snowmobiled, rode in a ranger(big 4-wheeler), went sledding and Wes and I even went on a date!
1st time flying as a 2 year old. (1st time buying her a ticket)
Walking off the meal.
The first and only time Addy went outside
Hey she liked it for a minute. Wes liked it most.
Addy would not ride on any of the outside things, in fact she really would not go outside at all. She had a little cold while we were there but I really think she just doesn't like to be cold. We tried and tried to get her to go on the snowmobile but I think with all of the clothes we put on her and the helmet, and the goggles that we were wearing she got a little scared. Her phrase of the week was "That motorcycle is too scary."
We had so much fun in Utah. Good food, good company and great fun. Addy loved being with her cousins and she leaned a lot from them. The minute we got home she started talking in complete sentences and said phrases I have never heard. Kids grow up so fast!
The cousins made place settings for T-day, with just a little help.
So the last few days of November we spent, not unpacking and organizing but me working on crafts for the craft show that I was in the first of December. I know Wes wasn't too happy with boxes lying around for that long but I had to craft it up!
