DT Project #2 by Minxy, Featuring:

JillyBean Soup: Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup Collection

Hay Snazzy Gang
So i'm guessing you're all back today to find out "what's in the tin"

It is of course a little mini book

I started by cutting 4 circles of mountboard and covering each piece back and front with the various Jellybean Soup PapersI dyed some lace with distress stain for the closure, and stuck this 2 the front and back page before the papers. {i made a shallow channel in the mountboard so the lace would not be raised under the paper.}

I then cut out 6 of the elements from the bite size bits sheet, and added 1 to each page.

I used all the clear stamps from the kit to accent each page, along with some of the stickers and some shapes cut from the backing papers.

I used the largest of the stamps to finish the last page.
I punched 3 holes into each page and bound with twine.

So... Thats me done for another rotation, I hope you have enjoyed my little book in a tin project, Don't forget there is still plenty of inspiration to come from my fellow teamies, starting with Claire on Monday.
I'll see you again in Feb

DT Project #1 by Minxy, featuring:

JillyBean Soup: Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup Collection

Hay Snazzy Gang.
I have 2 projects to share this week for you, The first of which was rescued from my local charity shop.
I came across this cool round tin and just knew I wanted to give it a makeover.

To start I cut 2 circles, 1 for the top and one the bottom from the red bell pepper sheet, Luckily the tin was just under the 6x6 size.
Next I diecut a couple of paper roses from the back of the bite size bits sheet, which was normal paper as opposed to the kraft card the rest of the papers were made from and therefore harder to mold into a rose shape. I inked round the edges with vintage photo distress ink, and added a couple of the heart pins from the kit and a couple of little love notes which I stamped using the clear stamp set {also from the kit} onto plain kraft card using the satin red versafine ink.

The bite size bits sheet is made up of 12  3x4 segments, I used one of these segments to stamp and cut out the word love as the focus to my box lid.

I stamped a few of the balloons from the clear stamp set in the red versafine ink onto the red sherry sheet, I found it gave a sort of resist effect which I liked. I cut them out and the used the tail stamp to finish off the balloons. I also cut a couple of the little birds from the scraps of the base paper to 3D a couple of them up.

And voila.. 1 complete made over tin. Simples but effective.
I will be back on thursday with my 2nd offering, A little hint.. it fits inside the tin!
Till then, Stay Inky

DT Project #2 by Minxy, Featuring;

Hay Snazzy Gang
{oops I totally forgot, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all our American friends xo}
Here I am back as promised with my second offering which is a little different.
A friend {Sandy} gave me the idea to make some napkin holders and from that sprung the whole table arrangement idea.

For the mat I took a sheet of kraft card and stamped on it using the G45 Christmas 1 set of stamps in 'red geranium' & 'fern green' archival ink.

I then placed one of the G45 'my true love' papers in the centre, followed by a Snazzy's doily from their multi pack that I distressed with distress ink. To complete I die-cut a heart from the G45 'golden rings' paper to go in the centre of the doily. To make the mat heatproof I attached a sheet of heat resistant acetate with brads.

For the napkin ring I die-cut one of the Tim Holtz snowflake rosettes from the G45 '12 days of christmas' paper, followed by a punch out in the G45 'swans a swimming' paper, and topped with images I fussy cut from the G45 '12 day of christmas' paper. I also rounded off the edges of the rosette with scissors.

Finally I used one of the cool little G45 christmas tags and pockets, as a name place setting.

I hope you like today's offering, Be sure to stop by next week as we have the first post from 1 of our new DT members.

Till next time, Stay Inky

DT Project #1 by Minxy, Featuring:

Graphic 45 '12 Days of Christmas'

Hay Snazzy Gang
And welcome to my first project of the week.
I knew as soon as I saw the papers that I wanted to make an advent type calendar but I really wanted to showcase the lovely matching stamps so I opted for a 12 day calendar and came up with this

My aussie friend Jen had just done a wonderful live stream on a square version, which you can check out HERE. She is a very talented paper crafter.

For the tree above I used 12 outside boxes which are 6 ³/8" squared, which you will score each side at 2 ¹/8"
And 12 inside boxes which are 6" squared, which you score each side at 2".
I just used a thick card {about 250gsm} for my construction.

 I cut along the score lines {marked with red above} and folded the boxes, Gluing only the outside set at this stage, Once all 12 outside boxes are done I assembled them, {you can do it any way you like but I thought the tree was nice and festive} just make sure that the thicker edges are all on top/ bottom, as when you place in the draws the thick edges will be at the left/right and it will fit perfectly, and look equal.

Once my tree was assembled I used some washi tape to cover all the edges.
I then picked out 2 contrasting papers from the 8x8 G45 pad and cut out 10 x 2" squares for the upright sides {a light pattern}, 3 x 2" squares {dark pattern} for the 2 undersides and top, and 6 1x2" sized pieces for the thinner tops.

I decorated each edge with paper flowers and die-cut holly. I also used some of the G45 stickers to add more detail to the sides, And one of the G45 double sided cardstock pieces for the top.

For the draws I cut out another 12 2x2" squares, again from one of the lighter G45 papers
I stamped each piece with 1 of the Hampton Art matching numbered stamps, first in fern green archival, then over in black to give a slight shadow effect. {done roughly by eye}

I then trimmed each one down to fit the draw front box, inked all the edges with vintage photo distress ink and stuck in place as the thin black line shows below
 I used a small circle punch to make a semicircle {shown in red} as the draw pull, assembled them all and there you have it. One complete advent calendar.

If you wanted to make 24 day tree you would just have to make 2 and place them back to back.

I hope you like todays offering, and you've understood my ramblings!
I'll be back on thursday with another fun idea for you to try.
Till Then..Stay Inky

DT Project Pt1 by Minxy, Featuring ....

7 Dot Studio : 9th Wave Collection
Hero Arts Stencils
***
Hay Snazzy Gang
Today I will be sharing the first half of my project, which is this paper case.

This is a really simple make and all you need is 1 sheet of 12x12 paper,
a scoreboard {or ruler and embossing tool} and something to cut like a paper trimmer or scissors.

Oh yeah and to watch MY VID

I used dusty concord and mowed lawn distress ink through the Hero Arts stencil.
The clasp is a Tim Holtz idea-ology piece and the ribbon is from my stash although snazzy's sell a massive range of ribbons in store.

I'll be back on thursday to share what goes in the case..
Till then stay inky

DT Project #2 by Minxy, Featuring:

PaperArtsy JOFY Stamps

Hay Snazzy gang, As promised here I am with another project share,
This time i've made a couple of cards.

I used the JOFY15 & JOFY mini 21

2 very simple cards, The first {left} using the masking technique,  I stacked the 3 birdies {set 15} and coloured with copic markers. Simples!

For the second I stamped a row of {mini 21} flowers, I also stamped some extras on another bit of white card. I coloured them all with distress markers and then cut out the extra's.
I layered up some of the flowers with foam tape.

I then stamped the smallest bird 3 times, coloured again with distress markers and cut out, cutting off the top feathers so they now look like little critters.
I cut along the wing lines so I could tuck the critters in among the flowers.

I have left both of the cards without any sentiments, that way if you're in need of a quick card, be it Birthday, or Hello, I miss You or Get Well Soon, you can add that as and when needed.

I hope todays cards have inspired you to have a go, Don't forget to go leave a comment HERE {after you've left one for me obviously lol} for your chance to win this month's random comment prize!
Till next time

DT Project #1 by Minxy, Featuring:

PaperArtsy JOFY Stamps

Hay Snazzy gang, Is everyone enjoying the first proper summer we've had in years!!!
My goodness it's been scorching down here in somerset, I've actually found it very hard to get in my craft room as my place is like a greenhouse.. But alas needs must, couldn't disappoint the snazzy fans so here for my first project is a wee birdhouse.

I started by spraying one of the snazzy mini birdhouses with white linen dylusions spray

I stamped the roof with little leaves from the JOFY15 set and then coloured them with distress markers.
{I stamped in black archival ink and coloured in with peeled paint}

I stamped the 2 little birds from the JOFY JM20 mini set onto white card and coloured them again with distress markers. I cut them out and stuck them to the birdhouse with cosmic shimmer glue.

To finish I stamped the word love birds and the little heart both from the JOFY JM20 mini set directly onto the birdhouse, colouring in the little heart. I also coloured the little perch and edged with vintage photo.

Hope you've enjoyed today's offering, I'll be back on thursday with another offering xo
Till then, Stay Inky

DT Project #3 by Minxy, Featuring

Kaisercraft Base Coat Collection

So here I am with my 3rd and final piece of the week
I was searching on utube and I came across another variation on the 1 sheet mini book so decided to give it a go.

I used the 'whitewash' paper and followed instructions via utube {just search 1 sheet mini}

Once I had stuck all my pages together I stamped the 'memory' clear stamp in 'coffee' archival ink randomly on the lower pockets, and over the front and back cover.

I distressed some tags with distress ink and stamped words from the 'secret admirer- definitions' clear stamps also in 'coffee' archival ink.

I used a tando creative small chipboard compass inked with 'vintage photo' distress ink to hold in place some twine for the closure.
You could make these into very cool little note carriers or photo holders, the possibilities are endless.
*****
So this concludes my week of kaisercraft fun, I hope you have enjoyed my projects this week.
Astrid will be along on monday with more wonderful projects, along with Hels the following week so plenty more ideas for these scrummy papers.
