My shaggy little "Puppy Bears"

Meatball needs a haircut! He is so cute and shaggy!!! Oreo already got hers and had to get shaved because she was so knotty.
She has been crying in the middle of the night ever since then. I am worried about her.
At least Meatball is not knotty! Don't those eyes make you melt? Or at least want to give him a treat!



Poor Oreo, I had to take her to the vet yesterday to check on why her skin was all red. He said it looked ok but she had an ear infection. I don't want to post a shaved photo of her so I will post a
"before" shot of Oreo. I call her my little "puppy bear"! She is just the sweetest thing ever but has had so many problems. This is minor though.

Puppies and Cakes! Oh My!

Good Morning!
I have been asked to post my little girl's cakes so here goes!!!
We made this cake for my son's friend. They invited him to spend this weekend at the Great Wolf Lodge for their son's birthday!!! How neat is that! Anyway his name is Jordan but his younger brother and sister call him JERDAN! His Birthday was in May but I wanted to do something special and fun for him. My little girl baked the cake for him and at her suggestion, we put JERDAN on the cake! We didn't get to sample it, but my son called and said it was the best cake we made so far!
We have had trouble with icing the cake and getting it flat but this one turned out a bit better. She did not do much to decorate it but it still looks nice!






My dog Meatball is so funny. Both of the dogs always bring us a toy when we come in. Meatball is bigger but usually Oreo steals it away from him to bring to us. This morning Meatball had this big toy and he wasn't letting go. He just rolled over on his back and held it still like this, in this position for about 10 minutes. We looked to see if he was alive as he looked like a stuffed animal. They weren't fighting over it but it was so funny to see him so still with the toy for so long. Guess you had to be there! Then Oreo just came up and snuggled with him. I love my pups so much!

Today is Meatball's Special Day!

Yippee, we got Meatball two years ago today!!
Since we celebrate the kid's adoptions on the day we got them, we also make sure our dogs get a "Special Day" too.
Usually I have a big treat for the dogs and then the people get a cake but since we need a cake for our cake class tomorrow, we can wait till then.
See my post waaaaay at the bottom, that is Meatball's cake from last year. It looks just like him!! Of course he did not get any!!
Oh I love him so!!

Challenge 5 Christina's Layout

I missed Challenge 5 which Christina put out. It was to do a layout following her pattern. This enabled me to finally do a page for Oreo's book and we have had her a year already and I had not started. I really want to do this book. Oreo almost died several times and I would have been devastated if I had not done her book. At least this was a start!

OREO"S Special Day!! April 26th!

April 26th was Oreo Cookie's Special Day!! This was the day we adopted her, one year ago. I remember my husband calling and telling us he saw a Black and White Shih Tzu and wanted us to come see her! We could not believe it, as he did not want the first dog (but loves him now!) We had been talking about getting a little Black and White one and naming it Oreo ever since we got Meatball. So, we all packed in the car, including Meatball, and went up to see this pup. My husband was smitten in love. We brought her home and she fit right in. The year had it's ups and downs. Oreo had many near death experiences but is such a little trouper. We celebrated her Special Day with lots of doggie cookies for her and cake and icecream for the family.

Today's is Meatball's Birthday!!

Today is Meatball's 2nd birthday! Miracles do exist! Meatball has a true problem of eating anything and everything that falls on the floor including magnets, socks, scissors, paper, pens, pencils, etc. It is very nerve wracking and dangerous. I never thought he could make it two years with this habit of his. We had such a fun day. I took him to visit his favorite person ever. Her name is Lori and she works at the dog hotel at Petsmart. He has never stayed there but would see her after his puppy classes. We can not even say her name in front of him or he goes crazy!!! Well he had not seen her in 6 months as she transferred about 30 minutes away but today I took him to her store. He was thrilled when I told him we were going to see Lori, he still remembers her and went nuts when he saw her! She brought him a bowl of doggie icecream and sat on the floor with him. She played with him for an hour. What a great day he had! I had to stop at Michaels on the way home and I called and asked if I could bring him in and they said yes! He was a perfect gentleman in there and did not eat any of their paper!! Well I could not post a photo of him at his little party because I left my camera there!!! So I guess he gets to see Lori again tomorrow!!! This photo is of him at about 4 months old. I love this photo! Happy Birthday, Meatball!! I love you!!

My Puppies

Here are my special little puppies!! Our new puppy is an Imperial Shi Tzu. We just got her three weeks ago.
Our other one is a Cavelier King Charles Spaniel/Shi Tzu and is one year old. We got him last June 2007.
