sanatorium

Creagh TB Hospital in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo. It is a desolated place where many suffered and died from the tuberculous disease in the 1940/50's.  It now stands as a monument of sickness and death as the earth slowly takes back the decaying ruins.

The building has been restored and now is listed on airbnb

Lough Mask

The trail that leads you to Lough Mask in Ballinrobe.  The gate is on a farmer's land and he gave us permission to cross his land and told us we would pass a few more gates but just make sure to close them after you go through.  We did and it took about an hour to get to the lake.

My wife and I are headed to Creeslough and Ards Forest Park to explore for the week so I won't be posting until June 1st .  Have a wonderful week!

saturday critters

came across this beautiful chocolate labrador when on a walk in Ballinrobe a few years ago.  He was taking his owner for a walk and was really shy.  I tried talking to him but he wouldn't look at me so I had to settle for what I could get. :)
