beach road 1
To the left is Beach Road and on the right is Sky Road. On our first full day here, we walked Beach Road, went to the end and then returned. It was about 5km (3 miles). We walked Sky Road the second day. Beach Road is the starting point for today's photos.
Combined former Methodist chapel and manse, built c.1850. The building also housed a schoolhouse. This ornate chapel, with its pointed arched hood mouldings, served a small Wesleyan Methodist community of shopkeepers, policemen and coastguards (1854-1908). It would be great if this building was renovated.
no info on this old rusty anchor, like to know the story behind it
This monument is located across from the chapel on Sky Road. On a sign it reads: The Celtic cross monument remembers Thomas Whelan, a native of Clifden and member of the Dublin Volunteers. He was executed in Mountjoy Jail on 14 March 1921 during the War of Independence for the murder in Dublin of a British Officer, despite strong evidence pointing to his innocence.
this is located on the bottom of the monument.

road bridge
This is one of three road bridges that go over the Garavogue River in Sligo. Sligo also has two pedestrian bridges of which I showed you one yesterday. These road bridges also allow people to fish. I seen a few people fishing but I didn't see any fish. Hopefully they were lucky!

hanging at the pier
I went down to the pier on my way home from dropping glass and cans off at the recycling bins which is nearby. It was a pretty nice day to be out and about. There were a group of people standing on the end of the pier just talking and hanging out and a man tidying and organizing his boat before leaving.
As I was taking photos this guy flies by in his boat and another heads back to his car after a day of fishing. It was a day to enjoy whatever it is that you like because starting tomorrow it's back to more of the gray overcast crappy rainy weather :(

from the other side
This was taken from the other side of Killybegs Harbour. You can see the Old Coast Station (OCGS) in the distance with its tower. To the left of the OCGS is St. Catherine's Vocational School. The blue building in the foreground is a fish processing plant and its roof is the landing spot for all the birds who, as we know, love fish. A few fishing boats leave this location early in the morning and also dock here on their return to unload their catch.
