Giving Away A Little Soxy Love

It's not important why I've been gone for so long - it's just important that I'm back and I have a great way to celebrate!

It's about that time of year we all love to hate. The dreaded VDay, Vtines Day, VD day - you know the day on the 14th where you're supposed to spend oodles of money to profess your love to someone. What's your plan? No need to send overpriced flowers, buy tacky stuffed animals, or eat gross filled candy when there is THIS:

The big love T-shirt from my pals at the Red Seat!!!!!

Want to take a closer look?

Yep, it's pretty awesome. A perfect - cost effective - gift for the love of your life (if that love is a woman, or a man who loves to wear his heart on his sleeve shirt).

But here's the best part. My generous pals have given me a code to share with my Soxy Friends for 10% off! Just enter SOXYLOVE when you check out to get the discount.

**I was not paid by the Red Seat to post this, I just happen to love the company and their merchandise and think you should too!

Dear Jason Bay,

Welcome to Boston!

I think we'll get along famously. Sure, it may take some time - I just broke up with someone after almost 8 years of a love-hate relationship, but we'll get there. I'm confident.

How exciting that you played on the Cape League in '99? Do you realize how many of your new teammates also shared in that experience?

  • Jason Varitek (Hyannis in '91 and '93)
  • Mike Lowell (Chatham (your former team!) in '94)
  • Javier Lopez (Falmouth '97)
  • Kevin Cash (Falmouth '99)
  • Kevin Youkilis (Bourne '00)
  • David Aardsma (Falmouth '02)
  • Sean Casey (Brewster '94)
  • Jacoby Ellsbury (Falmouth '04)
  • Justin Masterson (Wareham '05)
Too bad you didn't get here a few days earlier - on July 30th the Red Sox honored this year's Cape League All Star players on the field. Casey and Masterson handed out plaques. It was great.

I love that you grew up wearing a Sox onesie, had a Yaz and Rice poster on your wall and loved the atmosphere of Fenway Park when you played here in '05.

Bucks fans say you took yourself a little too seriously at times, but I think you can let loose when you need to.

Maybe you'll join in with the fans tonight, as they sing Sweet Caroline. Maybe you'll walk around wearing this new Tshirt...

...or send one to your friend Nady as a joke. Whatever you do - go out there, play hard and have fun.

Let's catch a Pearl Jam show next time they're in town, k?

Love,
SoxyLady

Let's Get to the Post Season already!!

All teams have clinched their post-season playoff berth, except for either San Diego or Colorado (GO ROCKIES!) - as I write this, the score has ping-ponged back into the lead for the Rockies 6-5 in the 6th on a Matsui (not Hikeki) sac fly.

The Red Sox head a pre-playoff rally in Government Center. I wasn't there but it looked to be a good time!

A few things to note from today:
  • Josh Beckett will start Game 1 (duh)
  • Daisuke Matszaka will start Game 2 (Now THIS comes as a surprise to me!)
  • Schilling, then, will be the starter for Game 3
  • David Ortiz was named AL Player of the Month for September
  • Jacoby Ellsbury was named AL Rookie of the Month for September
And, the Red Seat unleashed a brand new Red Sox shirt which is pretty cool!

I may have to pick one of these up, I get a lot of compliments on my other Red Seat shirts! (I didn't get paid to say this or post an image of the shirt, I truly like it!)

Truck Day - A Re-enactment

There are times when I think I can be a pretty creative person - but then I come across something like this:

and realize I'm not as creative as I'd like to be. Thanks to my friends at The Red Seat for the entertaining video.

Glad we could provide some insight into Oh, Holy Day - TRUCK DAY! Metaphorically, Truck Day is a beautiful thing. It fills you with excitement and anticipation! But really, it's just a truck. That gets loaded with gear. And drives away. -The Red Seat
