Summerfest for the restofus

It's officially summer when the carnival rolls into town, complete with super classy carnival workers, un-winable games, and somewhat questionable but yummy carnival food. We went with our good friends, the Paxmans. (who so rudley accepted an acceptance to PA school in Vegas without consulting us... already mourning their absence.) We were neighbors till Sam was 2 1/2. They are so great and so easy to be around. Sam and Erika have been good buddies and they had tons of fun together, riding all the rides
He picked a trumpet at the lucky ducks game.... I am already regretting suggesting it, he lovesit but it's a lot annoying

Sammy and Erika

Going down the big slide together.... I actually got a little scared. There was a woman at the top helping the kids with their burlap sacks, she was completly frightening, she may as well have kicked me in the face and said, "Ho, Ho, Ho."

This was Sams crowning moment! He has a really hard time going down the tallest slide at the park and he went all the way up this jungle gym thing. Erika just sped through it like a pro and Sammo just inched his way along and he had this big line of kids behind him. I thought for sure he would stop at the top and want to walk down and not go down the big slide... He did it! little guy is growing up.

new friends

Sam has made a few new friends and is now doing what every little kid in the summer time ought to be doing... playing like a maniac. There is a sweet little kid that lives next store that is a little more than a year older but they play really well together. and with this warm weather, Sam has played non-stop outside and has only come in to pee. There is a little girl in our cul de sac that has fun with them also. He ran in the other day and said, "Mom, I have a wonderful idea! Let's invite Andrew to join us for dinner!" I am thinking of changing his name to Sir Samuel.

Enjoying a picnic of graham crackers and marshmallows

The face of fun, sun, and burn. He looks so exhasted... I love it.

forgotten fotos

We have been passed by in the blogging world... moments captured at random without out a story or purpose or anything quippy to go along with. We have been deemed un post- worthy and have been doomed to a life of hard drive limbo. In the old days of scrapbooking we may have been given our own page and title of "Random Pictures" or "Misc. and Misc. contd." By Grandma Gray. Today we have been given new life... a voice and will forever go down with the others in Blogger history. We will proudly wear the name... 'Forgotten Fotos'

Sophie's new Quilt From Grandma... I LOVE the colors.
(Sophie is not smoking a cigar, it's a foam dart she loves to chew on)

After being squirted in the face repeatedly by Brother and Her grin could not be bigger, nor could her squeal of delight.

Harry Potter costume made by Auntie Marcelle. I think he kind of looks like Ralphie from "A Christmas Story" in those glasses

Yankees Cap, Plain white tee, bare feet, Bear... how could I not take a picture

Sophies 'fro after a bath.
instead of going private I thought about always having my kids wear masks in pictures to hide their identities... That Michael Jackson has some fantastic ideas.

His new phrase is "I need Back-up!"

she is just so easy to toss

She learned how to climb up stairs. and we decided to have her hair match the awesome shag carpet.

Too sweet not to post.

This little man of mine

Sam is such an unreal kid. He has just always had this goodness about him that I think will always be with him. He is so naturally obedient and can sense feelings and has such an intense desire to protect those he loves. (even if he is afraid of flies) I know he has never even considered telling a lie and always asks permission. We finally got over that he doesn't need to ask me if he can go potty. If he does have freak out moments it is generally because he is tired or hungry. I know he has his things that can be difficult but more and more I am realizing what a special little guy I have here...
Last night when I was putting him to bed and we were in our usual nose to nose snuggle, I was complimenting him about what a good boy he was all day for dad while I was at work and that I didn't think he could be mean or naughty if he tried. To which he said, "I'm Like Jesus huh."
So after a laughed a little and scooped up my heart that was in a warm puddle one the floor, I kissed him good night and realized what a lucky mama I am.
