Warm and rich looking colors!!

Morning! Happy Saturday... :) Last night I "got creative"! I sure hit a dry patch the past couple weeks. But when I checked out Gina K. Organize it Card Sketch at Stamp TV using these BEAUTIFUL Basic Gray Indian Summer DP's... I just had to play along.

I decided to use SU! Pocket Silhouettes, Upsy Daisy and Great Friend to create the images. CS is SU! Baroque Burgundy (yes, I still have it!), Creamy Carmel, Basic Black and Whisper White. Then for the ribbon treatment I use SU! Taupe Grosgrain ribbon and a smaller piece of stitched ribbon over lapping. I did my own border by hand... my days in Graphic Arts kicked in... LOL! :)

I just LOVE this DP, did I say that already... ha! Take a peek at Gina's beautiful cards. She has many more combo's to enjoy!!

If you are getting snow with this big winter storm be safe! Blizzard conditions in some area's... but great "creative crafting" weather, RIGHT!! Enjoy your weekend and the Super Bowl! The commercials are the best part for me... :) Thanks for your sweet comments!!

Edited to add: Check out Ruby 2 Shoes for some "GREAT BLOG CANDY" girls!!! She has such fabulous cards... pop in and take a look... and sign up!

Two Gift Card Holders...

Hi everyone! :) Well, here I am posting my "Weekly" post... LOL! I can't believe how time just doesn't allow for posting lately. I feel so bad! I like to share what I have and feel not like a team player lately... SORRY! The two cards I have to share tonight are Gift Card/Money Holders which I made for 2 teens. (Boy and Girl)
Both cards I used DP scraps, added ribbon, used my large SU! snowflake punch layering them up with circles and buttons! Simple layout, but with different colors, DP's and ribbon you get 2 different looks. Each snowflake has Stickles added for some sparkle... click on photo's for a closer look!
On my second card I used SU! Creamy Carmel to sponge the edges of the DP and snowflake to give a bit of a vintage look. On the inside of each card I have a flap folded up which is held by 2 brads. Just tuck the money or gift card in the pocket... and you have a "fun creative" way to present a gift!! I hope I have inspired you!! ENJOY, and have a super weekend!!

Think Christmas... SMILES!

A couple cards to share... from my Stamping Retreat!!

Well, I survived the stamping/scrapbooking weekend!! What fun it was... so much creative energy going and amazing food! I ate way to much... it felt like Thanksgiving two weeks early! Ha.. :) I have a couple cards to share from my weekend and will be sharing more cards when I can post next. If you follow my blog, you know how much I LOVE the SU! TOP NOTE die! I CASE'd a card from Beate Johns blog... but I can't find the actual post to show my CASE.

I kept both cards close in size, shape and colors. I added a SU! Felt Flurries snowflake from last years mini, and the Snowman is a EK punch. (Thanks Diane for sharing!) :) I did some paper piecing to get more of defined image with the hat, scarf and arms. And enjoyed using my SU! Modern Label Punch... :) Cardstock used is SU! Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Kraft and Very Vanilla.

I hope you like... I do! I'm going to finish watching Dancing with the Stars now... LOVE that show! The big night is coming next week... yeah! You know where I will be at. Thanks for popping in for a visit and I so appreciate it. I plan to blog surf sometime soon! Miss everyone!

STVSC37... Dashing Through the Snow!

Hi everyone!!! I had some stamping time last night and I just had to share... :) I received my SU! "Dasher" a week ago and decided to pop into my sweet friends blog at The Craft's Meow (Hi Lisa!!) and seen this fun sketch... Stamp TV Sketch Challenge 37!! The card on the left is the card for the challenge. My 2nd card is a layout I have been wanting to try for some time.
On the challenge card I used DP from DCWV, paper piecing on my Nestie circle cuts and embossed Dasher with white embossing powder. Added snowflakes... the large one is SU! and the small size is Martha Stewart. I added rhinestones to the antlers and the sentiment was so fun to mix using SU! punches to layer.
The second card I free hand cut the landscape out of scrap paper, and used it like a stencil to sponged Chocolate Chip onto Kraft CS. Then I stamped Dasher with Whisper White Craft to emboss in white... well I "FORGOT" to use my Embossing Buddy and ended up have my inked area hold some of the embossing powder too! I decided to see what it would look like after I took the heat gun to it and I LOVED the fun texture and look it gave... so I went with it!! :) My oops worked to my advantage! :) The snowflake is one of last years SU! felt snowflakes, added a boarder using my EK Wave Punch, the sentiment is a $1 stamp at Michael's, and I also used my GellyROll pen around the edges to give more sparkles... Click on photos!
Enjoy!! This week I'm getting ready for a retreat this weekend... CAN I LEAVE "NOW"!! Ha... :) I'm getting excited and have my ideas ready, but not much packed. So my posting might be even less this week. Have a great Sunday evening, thanks for the visit and I very much appreciate your sweet comments!!

Jolly Snowman and Get Well Card... :)

Happy Sunday!! Here is one of my Snowman cards I made this weekend and a 2nd card from Julie's card class. It was perfect, Friday with the snow coming down made me think of a bright "JOLLY" card! I used my Nesties, bright DP's and using my Martha Stewart snowflake punches with buttons. I CuttleBug embossed the background and sponged the edges and high spots with SU! Whisper White. The stamp is from Provo Crafts... to cute! :)

Being the snow has come early this year and we still have leaves on the trees we made this fun fall card. Julie had us make a 4x4 card and making a 2nd fold at the 2" mark. Such a quick and easy card to make. When I came home I used my blender pen to fill in the leaves more with Close to Cocoa. And that fantastic Modern Label Punch rocks with the brads!! The stamp set is Autumn Splendor... in the SU! Holiday Mini Catty and Thoughts and Prayers.

Click on the photo's for a closer look! I'm watching football "Boarder Battle"... Vikings and Green Bay Packers... So far so good for us! I also made a large pot of Chicken Wild Rice soup and Pumpkin Mousse for dessert!!!! Yummmm... :) Enjoy your evening and thanks for stopping in for a visit. I always love it when you do... I'm catching up on comments!!

Finally, a couple PUNCH cards to share with you!!

Finally, a post! Right... :) Sorry for my absence. Last week we moved our office to a brand new location (VERY NICE!) and I had some LONG days into the evenings working. And over the weekend was my catch up. On Sunday it was such nice weather I was working in the yard to get a few things winterized. Pulled bulbs, cover the A/C unit, washed a few windows, shrubs, etc. Now only if I would have giving Cooper a bath the day would have been complete... ha! He's still smelly and very hairy! In a couple weeks he goes in to have his "Spa Day" which includes a bath, trim and cutting his nails.

On to the cards.... I understand this card design was in the SU! Demo Magazine. The 2nd card is what we made at Mary's SU! workshop in September. I had so much fun making it that I made another card with pink and pumpkin pie tones.

This card is perfect to up-selling your SU! punches... and what an amazing cards a girl can make
with punches... WOW! I did use some non-SU! decorative edge scissors I own on the ice-cream bowls. And added some CuttleBug embossing in the back ground.

Well, off to bed I go! I wish everyone a warm Minnesota SMILE!! And a day full of colorful fall leaves... 'tis the season! He... :) Thanks for popping in for a visit. I haven't blogged much in over a week. All the comments I do receive I do return the favor and let it be known I have not forgotten about you!!!!

Hugs and SMILES!

Clean & Simple... Ten Minute Monday!

A couple Clean & Simple cards to share!! I seen the Ten Minute Monday post and just fell in love with this card... so I decided to give it a try with my DP's that are so unloved lately! Do you ever have that issue? I have a lot of single sheets that don't have coordinating paper, because I think I have to HAVE them! :)

The first card is for fall that's around the corner. I followed the double button idea and embossed a row of dots with my CuttleBug. Then embossed my sentiment.

My second card I used chipboard flowers, added a gold pearl next to my sentiment and LOVE the DP with the rich chocolate in the background. Very easy peassy cards!! :)

Tonight I have Julie's Card Club and she just got back from convention! Can't wait to see her swaps... FUN!

Enjoy and have a super Monday!

Friday... Flower Power!!

Happy Friday!! The weekend is here and that's a good thing, right? :) The 2 cards I have to share tonight I pulled out of my collection in early spring and wanted to show you them when the flowers were in season... LOL! Sunny summer weather!! We had NO sun today, but thought my cards would bring a bit of joy for today.

The cards are pretty cut and dry, which is what I like about them. Using DP's, So Many Scallops, my Scallop Circle punch and sentiments makes for a quick card.

Have a super weekend everyone and be safe! Enjoy the summer sun... as I hope it's shinning your way! :) Thanks for poppin' in for a visit.

Binder Clips...Enjoy!!

Morning everyone! How is the weekend going so far? The weather is gorgeous!! I didn't have time to stamp last night so I decided to make these CUTE Binder Clip holders this morning. I purchased LARGE black binder clips at OfficeMax a while back. (12 clips per box.)

I seen this idea at a local boutique, ThistleBerry, and just fell in love with them... also I looked on SplitCoast for a link but didn't find one. I know this idea has been around the SU! world!! :) The punched images are on both sides of the clip so you can enjoy from front and back!! (attached with a couple demensionals.)

I took a close up shot of each one. Click on the photos for a closer look! I used my stash of scrap DP's, scraps of cardstock, used my punches, stamps, ribbon, etc. to create these cuties! You can use them for holding photos, recipes, notes, stamped cards, bake sale prices, place cards, etc. I put the Birthday Celebrations on one of them to show you what something attached would look like.

Have a fabulous weekend and stamp the day away!! It sure is hard this time of year to do that... LOL! Thanks for poppin' in for a visit and enjoy...

2 More... Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #23

I couldn't resist making two more cards using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #23!! This is a first for me, making 4 cards on one sketch!!! In my last post I mentioned I wanted to try this sketch using the Trendy Tree set. Here it is! Very simple, no extra frills, but has some punch! (Size 6 1/2"x 3 1/4")

On my second card... the size is 7 x 3 1/2" so I could fit the smallest Nestie Label One die, 5 times! I started picking through my scraps of DP to put this card together and that's how I came up with the colors. I took my SU! White Gel pen to doodle around my sentiment, added white pearls in the flower centers, and added a button to my bow. Not sure if I like this card, but sure is GIRLY!! :)

This is the first I have been on the computer since my last post... LOL! I have LOTS of e-mails to surf through tonight. The hubby's playing soft ball, so I can relax and have a cup of chai tea!! Have a super evening my stamping friends!! Thanks for poppin' in for a visit... :)

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #23... Join in!!

Hello, stamping friends!! Last night I decided to play along with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #23. When I first looked at the sketch I was kind of taken... hummm! Then a few things came to mind. On my first card I wanted a FRESH & SUMMERY look... because the heat is on here! This card is pretty much all SU! but the rhinestones which I purchased at Michael's and the wave border punch is from EK. I LOVED making these flowers with sponging the edges and curling the petal tips with the bone folder. :)

For my second card I decided to use the Darling Dots set and going lady-bug style!! Behind the black ribbon I added a Real Red panel that was CB embossed to give a tone on tone effect and some texture. It's hard to see in the photo. Again all SU!, but the CB embossing and black stitched ribbon. I just might try another card using the Trendy Tree set... with fall colors! The weather is warming up and I'm thinking fall... LOL!! (can you tell I'm from Minnesota!)

Enjoy your day ladies (guys too!) I'm working on the invites for the township gathering. Keep your summer smiles on... :)

Enjoy... Michelle

Top Note... Double Feature!

Morning!! Monday sure came fast and weather is warming up here... :) Over the weekend our garden was over taken by RABBITS!! After church we ran into town to pick up fencing. I have to replant a few things and buy more pepper plants, but we'll keep trying!! Rabbits are cute, BUT!

Last night I finally played with a few goodies I picked up last week! This DP is so yummy and I think it's from AMuse... not marked and I have a short memory! LOL! So I decide to make two versions for a Double Feature. I found a packet of Hero Arts flowers to match, added brads, hardware such as spacers, white pearls, MS branch punches and CB embossing to the mix. So fun to make with a Kraft cardbase. Really POPS!

On the second card I stamped the sentiment in Craft Chocolate Chip, from Hero Arts, and clear embossed. Did some paper piercing and sponged the edges with Creamy Carmel. I tried to get my sentiment to look like a banner with adding a couple pop-dots in the center, but isn't showing up well in the photo... click on the photos for a closer look!

ENJOY everyone! Have a super day and so glad you popped in for a visit... always love it when you do!!

SC231... Double Dose!

Morning!! Happy Sunday and I hope your weekend is going well, warm and sunny... :) We don't have the warm and sun here, but it's a great day! Yesterday we had a graduation party to attend so didn't have any time to stamp till last night.

I decided to tackle SC231 over at SplitCoast. I had a couple ideas so I have a "double dose" to share with you!!! My first card is using the ever so popular Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa, and Kiwi Kiss colors. This is the first time I used this CUTIE PATOOTIE bird and I hope the wings are in the right position. I looked in the SU! catty to see a sample, but didn't find it right away and was to tired to keep looking... LOL! :) I added a brown button for a fun accent. Wrapped Baja Breeze ribbon around the card and decided not to tie a bow to keep the focus on the bird and embossed background.

My second card I used DP for the 3 panels, my Top Note Die, and found this twill ribbon that has "Happy Everything!" printed on it. I decided to create a star medallion. Added silver pearls to the top corners. Plus sponging around the edges!

Well, I'm off to help the hubby work on the utility shed in my long johns... He, he! Have a super day and thanks for the sweet comments... truly enjoy them ALL!

Happy Father's Day... Top Note!

Burr! It's cold baby... :( This morning we woke up to frost in the area. I'm glad I covered my plants!!

I've been working on a couple Father's Day cards and came up with these using my Frames with a Flourish set... this set is on the SU! retired list! Plus you know how much I like my Top Note die!!

I found some DP that worked perfectly with Not Quite Navy, Garden Green and River Rock. Happy Father's day is gold embossed on both cards. I added some VERY LARGE gold brads in the corners... I must have gotten them at a office shop a while back. Then doing some paper pierced around the Top Note. I used my CuttleBug to emboss my Metallic Bronze cardstock with the Tiny Mosaic pattern to give a masculine feel. The photo doesn't show the metallic look very well, try clicking on the photo for a closer look!
Here I stamped my top and bottom designs with Craft Chocolate Chip and clear embossed. Both cards have a sophisticated look... Enjoy!

Now off to hang my curtain panels in our spare bedroom... can't wait to see the results!!

Have a super day my stampin' friends!! Remember to stamp and SMILE today... he! Thanks for poppin' in! :)

CAS... Double Feature!!

Hello everyone!! Tonight my hubby and I started framing up a small utility shed in the back yard. Mark was pretty happy as we finished the walls right before dark... and says "I love progress!" I just smiled as the mosquito's were sucking us alive!! :)

Any whoo... I decided to make a couple CAS cards last night using my Fozz Felt... this stuff is pretty fun to use as it's adhesive. I made two versions being I have over a yard of this stuff. My first card is pretty COLORFUL (shocker, right?) and added some fun embellies. Then taking my markers to color the sentiment.

The second card I used Kraft cardstock and white embossed the sentiment... I decided to add diamond shaped silver brads from SU! (retired), rhinestones and sequins (I think that's what you call them, I don't have the original packaging!) The photo doesn't do this card justice, but IRL it's even nicer! I like the idea of only using one layer... It's so hard stamping when the weather is nice, CAS cards work great!! Enjoy everyone... :)

Thanks for popping in and saying "HI"... I love your comments! Makes my day... :)

Smiles... Michelle :)

Con'grats Grad... Going Green!

Happy Sunday! Hope your weekend is going well.... :) The weather is great here today and we just finished giving Cooper a bath!! (I have a photo of him below!)

Aren't these flower just the cutest!? My two cards are inspired by Wendy Johnson from the newest issue of Paper Crafts, (July/August 2009) In the beginning of the magazine there is a section called "Ask the Pros" and one topic was "GOING GREEN".

On Wendy's card she used printed cardboard packaging. But I decide to use printed copy paper! Both cards have a female edge... obviously! The top one is for a High School graduate and the second card is for my husbands niece who just graduated from college. So I made that one more sophisticated with softer lines. I just LOVE using my embellies with these flowers... :) I used my Craft Chocolate Chip and clear EP on the sentiments.
Click on the photos for a closer look! I hope you enjoy and have a chance to get some stamping time in today!! Thanks for poppin' in and the lovely comments ladies... always appreciate the visit!

Flowers & Swirlys... O'My!

Hello stampin' friends! Hope you are having a super day and enjoying some spring time weather... :)

This is what has inspired me to show you these cards. The card on the left I made a while back, but this morning I made the 2nd one using another color twist, but using the same DP. I changed the direction of the DP as you can see the lines both horizontal and vertical. I'm on a "ROLL" using my SU! Jumbo "So Swirly" wheel. LOL!

Such a Clean & Simple card to make. (CAS) Plus I love using up scraps of DP's when I can. I added one rhinestone for a bit of bling on each card. Next I layered my sentiment "behind" the scallop circle for more of a layered look. (Kinda hard to see in the photo, click on the photo's to get a closer look if you like!!)

Now I'm off to give Cooper, our golden retriever, a walk. He's been itching for one all morning... LOL! It's warming up in central Minnesota. I hope my cards put a SMILE on your face and give you the feeling of what's to come... SPRING!

Thanks for the visit and lovely comments!! Smiles everyone...

Double Feature... at a great price!!

Hi everyone & Happy Friday!! The weekend is here.. Woo Hoo! :) The house is quiet and a good time to post... LOL! Now, I knew every paper crafter loves a good deal and a Double Feature!! I haven't done one of these in a long time. My "Great Deal" and card idea was purchased at Target a few weeks ago. I always graze the clearance section... :) So I found these cute invites for $1.48 (10 ct.) which included the DP and ribbon to put my cards together!!

My first card was mailed to Ann at Creative Antics who I won my blog candy from!! She has AWESOME Clean & Simple card designs. Pop into her blog and wish her "Happy Birthday!" She has BLOG CANDY to give away!

OK onto the cards! I used my SU! Jumbo "So Swirly" wheel for the background and embossed in black. Then cut the invite down to use my Top Note die. Added the red ribbon. Next I black embossed the border around my sentiment and then came back embossing the sentiment in Real Red. Double Embossing!! Added my gold pearls for a jazzy detail... :)

My second card, still using a lot of the same colors, ribbon, border, pearls, etc. Except I used my Large oval punch for my sentiment that was embossed in Real Red. The big difference is the card base... using Kraft CS which was embossed with my Swiss Dots folder for a softer look!

Click on the photo's for a closer look at the details and the last photo is the "GREAT DEAL" I got... SWEET! I hope you enjoy these two versions!!
Thanks for poppin' in and visiting! I love the chats and comments... have a super evening and I'll be back this weekend! Smiles...

CC212 & MoJo Monday... plus SPRING Storm!

Sorry I'm late posting! Since Tuesday night with the SPRING storm that came through, my stamping time has been limited!! I ended up in the ditch just before dark Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning I was stuck at the end of the driveway on my way in to work... LOL! But the good news is last night I stamped my "stress away" making these two cards using CC212 and MoJo Monday challenges. :)

The first card I used A Good Egg set with both challenges. The CC212 colors were Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red. In honesty I don't have the Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red CS, so I used my SU! Candy Lane DP!!! (I cheated and use Ruby Red as my card base!) Next, using the large egg in that set to make the Chicky look like she's "popping out" of the egg!

My second card was inspired by "What will I every do with these cute birds printed on this SU! DP?" So this is what I came up with!! I chalked the birds to give more pop.

I have a couple photo's to share from the storm that went through. We had about 12" and VERY WET snow! Don't you just love the way the trees look? Well, off to see what the pooch is doing and he's itchin' for a walk. Thanks for stopping by for a visit... ENJOY!!
