Greetings friends. I hope you are all having a wonderful Monday. Today I would like to share a framed holiday card with you. It is a bit hard to tell from the photo, but I added foam tape between the snow banks so the card has a bit of a 3-D effect. I liked having a little bit of dimension without worrying about it fitting into an envelope.

To make the card, I combined stamps from two clear sets. The snowman is from the Warm Holiday Cheer set:

And the trees and sentiment are from the Oh What Fun Set:

I colored everything with Copic markers and then fussy cut out my images. I used a wave edges die to create the snowbanks and a large frame die to frame the entire scene. The background paper is from the Winter Blues paper pack:

Don't forget that IO is continuing their close out sale:

Thanks for stopping by today!

For my card today, I went with a gingerbread house theme. I combined images from the Home for the Holidays stamp set along with paper from the Gingerbread pack:

I used paper and Copic markers that I thought captured the oranges and blue gray of the inspiration photo. It is hard to tell from my picture, but I added some Stickles to the top of the white snow mound for extra sparkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Here is a list of all the designers who are participating in the hop:

Greetings friends. Both of my cards today use the new Primitive Snowman die:

Intimidated by the tiny "coal" pieces to use for the eyes? Don't be! The best thing about the die set is that it comes with a circle die. I used it to cut out a black circle and it fits behind the eyes and mouth. It saves so much time and it is such a joy not to have to piece together a tiny little smile.

For my first card, I masked off an area I wanted to by sky. I colored it with Distress Oxide inks and then spritzed it with some water to give it some splotchiness. I then assembled my snowman and added some stars from the same die se.

For my second card, I used paper from the Winter blues new Winter Blues paper pack:

I cut out the white cardstock using the Oval of Circles die. It allowed my background paper to show through all the small holes of the oval. All that was left was to die cut my snowman and place him inside the oval "frame."

There ended up being a lot of little holes on my cards, but luckily, they weren't fussy at all. Whew!

Thanks so much for stopping by during the September release.

IO September Release- Day 2

Welcome to the September Release Hop!

Here is a list of all the designers who are participating in the hop:

Greetings friends. My cards today focus on the new Looking Forward clear stamp set: I am such a sucker for cute characters to color. For the first card, I had to use the cat stamp. I often cat sit, so I like having cat card ideas to create for the holidays.

To make the card, I stamped my sentiment on a tag and my cat image on some Copic white cardstock.  Once I colored the kitty, I cut him out and added him to the side of the tag as if he was peeking out.

For my second card, I used one of the rays dies to add a bit of interest and to frame my moose cartoon image. I tried coloring the circles with two colors of brown Copic marker to create a striped look, but as the ink dried, it looked like I used only one color of brown. I might go back some point to add more color, but I am afraid I might mess things up. Do you do that? Do you ever take your cards one step too far and wish you hadn't?

I once again colored my image with Copic markers, but this time I had the moose peeking out from the side of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you will join me again tomorrow!

September Release- Day 1

Here is a list of all the designers who are participating in the hop:

Today, I am sharing two cards using the new Snowman in Scarf die. He is just so cute:

For the first card, I cut out a background and scarf from the new Nordic patterns paper. I love the vibe of this paper pack:

I then cut out all my snowman pieces and drew on some rosy cheeks to add a bit of character. The background pink patterned paper was cut using the Edges 1 die. I like that it added a bit of stitching to the rounded edge of the paper. To finish the card, I added a sentiment from the Holiday Phrases stamp set:

The second card is similar to the first, but this time I used the Let it Snowman paper for the scarf and background.

To finish the card, I added a tag and snowflake charm for embellishment and a sentiment from the Snowman Sayings clear stamp set. There are some really fun sayings in that set.

As of today, all the items I posted are still available at IO. The latest releases have been selling the fastest with the closeout sale (no surprise there).

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will stop by again tomorrow. I don't know about your, but I am really going to miss celebrating the new IO releases.

IO Team Favorites

Greetings friends. Today the IO team is sharing some of their favorite items from the August release. If you would like to see a full list of participating designers, you can find it on the Impression Obsession blog.

The two cards I am posting today come from the Pumpkin Patch clear stamp set:

Does it surprise anyone that my favorites would be pumpkins? I can't help myself from getting the latest sets each year, and I liked that this set had a lot of styles of pumpkins.

For the first card, I folded cream cardstock so that the fold of the card was at the top. I then cut a curve onto the top piece of cream paper. I then stamped pumpkins along the curve of the paper and then stamped pumpkins again onto scrap white cardstock. I colored just the round parts of the pumpkins, cut them out and glued them onto my card. Remember, I really hate cutting out tiny details, so I avoided haveing to cut out the stem and leaves.

To finish the card, I layered some stripe paper behind the cream cardstock front.

For the second card, I used the spooky pumpkin from the set and paired it with some Halloween paper. I used eyeballs, but really, you could use any Halloween paper you like. I colored the pumpkin with Copic markers and added an "eek" charm and tag to the card.

Oldie but Goodie

Greetings friends. I have been going through some of my older IO cards and picking out some of my favorite designs and/or products. It is a bittersweet process.

I really liked this Halloween die. It is a single die that cuts out all the elements. I thought it was perfect for either making a background design or layering it over some patterned paper.

For my card, I used the Distress Oxide ink colors of Vintage Photo, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, Candy Apple, Seedless Preserves and Faded Jeans:

Next, I spritzed the paper with water to give it some splotches:

All that was left was to cut out the Halloween Scene out for black cardstock and layer it on top.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

IO Color Challenge- Fall Colors

Greetings friends. The challenge this month is all about fall colors. How do you interpret that theme? What are your favorite colors to use for fall? The designers have all created cards along that theme that I hope you will enjoy. Here is a link to the participating designers:

Impression Obsession Blog
Jeanne Streiff
Laura Fulcher
Robin Clendenning
Angela Bode
Anna Wight
Dina Kowal
Giovana Smith

The first card is quick and easy in that it is simply an image and sentiment stamped onto patterned paper using dark brown ink.

I always use IO ink when stamping on the patterned paper because it has a bit of a gloss to it and the IO ink dries completely on it. Both stamps came from the Listen Doll clear stamp set:

My second card uses a sentiment from the Fall Phrases clear set and sunflowers from the Fall Foliage stamp set. I then paired it with paper from the Sunflower paper pack (sold out).

To make the card, I added my patterned paper to my white cardstock and then stamped the sentiment and flowers on top. I stamped the flowers a second time onto white cardstock, colored them with copic markers and cut out the flower heads to glue onto the stems I had stamped onto the card. I hate cuttting out fussy things such as tiny leaves, so I avoided doing that for this card.

I am trying my very best to only use products that are still available as the store closes. However, the patterned papers I used just sold out. Some of the items are going really quickly (especially the latest papers and dies). Once they are gone, they are gone. I will continue to try to post things that are still available. I appreciate your understanding. It is also a reminder to get something before it is gone.

Impression Obsession Is Closing

Greetings friends. It is with a heavy heart that I am sharing the news that Impression Obsession will be closing after 26 years in business. I have truly been honored to have been associated with this amazing company. For those of you who took my IO classes at Angela's Happy Stamper, thank you. Those classes were so much fun! I have also been honored to have been on the design team from start to finish. In fact, I am the only design team member who has been there for the entire time. That feels like such an accomplishment. For those of you who stopped by my blog to see the latest releases, thank you as well. I hope you will be inspired as the design team continues to post samples as Impression Obsession goes through the process of closing.

I will continue to post updates of the sales and closeouts until everything is gone. IO still has a new September release of items, so it will be a great chance to get something brand new at an amazing price.

The starting sale is everything at 30% off. The discounts will continue to grow, but once things are gone, they are gone for good. Don't wait too long for anything that you have really been wanting.

Here is a direct link to the closing SALE.

Mitra, the owner of IO had this to say about the closing:

Dear Customers & Friends,

After 26 years in the craft industry, Impression Obsession will cease operations at the end of the year.

It has been a wonderful ride, and we thank all of our customers, artists, designers, and retailers for all the support you have shown us. These decisions don't come easily, but it's time for me to start a new chapter in my life.

Our final new release will be September 1, 2024 and it is full of wonderful products for the fall season. Please take this opportunity to support your favorite IO artist in this last release.

Throughout the next few months, we will be clearancing our inventory with progressive discounts. We will not be restocking, so when an item sells out, it’s gone for good.

Please support your independent retailers and small manufacturers when you can, it matters. It has been a pleasure crafting with you all!

Sincerely,

Mitra Palmer

IO Theme Day- Halloween

Greetings friends. It is time for another theme, and this time the theme is "Halloween." If you would like to see a list of all the participating designers who are sharing Halloween samples, you can find them in order on the Impression Obsession blog.

As you know, I absolutely love Halloween cards. I immediately was drawn to the Zombie Treats stamp set because the names for the gravestones made me laugh. I realize that it might not be everyone's sense of humor though.

I made the watercolor background myself and colored the image with Copic markers. I then paired everything with paper from the new Halloween paper pack:

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I hope you have a spooktacular day!

Greetings friends. I want to share a couple of cards today featuring apples. I don't know any children in school in order to make back to school or teacher cards, but I was able to make general greeting cards with the latest release.

Both of the cards I used today use the new Apple die:

They also use the Apple for Teacher clear stamp set:

For the first card, I used apple paper from the Ease into Fall paper pack and cut out a circle that used even more of the patterned paper from the pack. All that was left was to die cut an apple and then add a sentiment on a tag. (Don't forget the apple seed as an embellishment).

For my second card, I used the same papers, stamps and dies in a different configuration. I love those apple seeds so much and plan to use them as watermelon seeds on other cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
