Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC369: Painted Poppies

Good morning,

It's been an interesting week, that's for sure and just working one thing at a time trying to get everything on that to do list done.  Of course I had to take a little break for a little crafting and made this lovely card using this weeks Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge.

For this card I used Old Olive cardstock for the cardbase and then added Mossy Meadow cardstock as a mat for the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper cardfront.

For the stamped image I cut out a label using the Painted Labels Dies and Whisper White cardstock and stamped the flower from the Painted Poppies stamp set and the greeting from the Little Lady Bug set.  I used Stampin' Blends to color in both the stamped flower image as well as the piece of Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon.  I also added a little piece of Early Espresso cardstock behind the flower piece, which was attached with dimensionals.

To finish off the card I added another piece of the coordinating DSP to the top right corner, as well as a piece of Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape and finished off by adding some Peaceful Poppies Sequins as an accent.

I can't get over how gorgeous all the paper in in this designer series paper pack, so easy to use and coordinates with everything else in the product suite to a T.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for inspiration using this sketch challenge and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create!

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge #FabFri151: Dashing Deer

Good morning!  I love a little sparkle to add to projects (no secret there!) but especially on holiday projects a little shine and sparkle are the perfect touch.  I decided to let gold foil be the focus on my card using this weeks Fab Friday sketch challenge while designing this card that we will be making at Sunday's Just Cards class.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Dashing Along Designer Series Paper as the card front (these patterns and colors are perfect for the holidays and I'm so glad this paper is back and available for all your holiday needs).

I used Whisper White cardstock for the focus panel and stamped the greeting from the Dashing Deer stamp set in Early Espresso ink and then added two strips of washi tape along the bottom using the Suite Season Specialty Washi Tape (this tape is great because it's got metallic in 3 of the 5 patterns using three different colors of metallic, plus this washi tape is currently on sale as part of the closeout sale so it's only available while supplies last).  For the main focus piece I used Gold Foil Paper, the Big Shot, and the Detailed Deer Thinlits to cut this beautiful foil deer.  I wanted this card to have a little dimension so I used dimensionals to attach the entire Whisper White piece on the cardfront.

This card is so beautiful and it really easy to make so it's great for multiples, which is perfect during the holiday season!

Quick and Easy: Washi Tape Daisy Delight

Good afternoon!  I'm a little late in posting but I wanted to share this really quick and easy card using the Daisy Delight stamp set (without any of the flowers).  This was another sample I made for the display boards and it also shows off some of the fun new washi tape and two of the new In Colors, Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide.

I started with Tranquil Tide for the cardbase and then added a piece of Fresh Fig cardstock and used the feather image from the Delightful Daisy set to stamp along the right side (I used Berry Burst in but that's only because I didn't have Fresh Fig at the time but it still works).

Next I added three strips of the washi tape from the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape (I like that you get 5 different rolls in this set with a wide variety of patterns and widths).  The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Berry Burst ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I sponged around the edge with Basic Black ink before attaching to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final touch, adding one of the uber-cute 2017-2019 In Color Bitty Bows (I love that these bows already come with a glue dot attached for easy use).

This card was super easy to make and doesn't require a ton of supplies and no special tools so it's perfect for the new crafter as well as the more experienced.

SSINKspiration Washi Tape: Painter's Palette

Good morning!  Today the SSINKspiration designers are using washi tape in all our projects to show all the great options and how can be used.  I decided to focus on the Halloween Night Washi Tape from the Holiday Catalog but use it for a non-Halloween card.  The colors are bright and cheery and these prints are fun and neutral which are also perfect for a birthday card.

I started with Old Olive cardstock for the cardbase and then added a layer of Perfect Plum cardstock behind the Whisper White cardfront.  I used the Painter's Palette stamp set and started by stamping the splatter and paint marks using Old Olive, Perfect Plum, and Pumpkin Pie ink.  The greeting was stamped in Basic Black before adding the strips of Halloween Night Washi Tape.

The final touch to the card was to add a small star that was cut out of Gold Glimmer Paper using the Big Shot and Stars Collections Framelits and attached with a dimensional.

Washi tape makes it really easy to add pops of color and patterns to your projects and can be removed easily if you need to adjust.  This card is also not bulky which is perfect for mailing.

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge 83: Botanicals for You

Good morning!  There’s only two days left of Sale-a-bration 2016 and I feel like there are lots of great products during this promotion that I haven’t really gotten to use yet (how is that possible?)  Today I decided to showcase some of my favorite SAB freebies to make sure you don’t miss out on these fun items before they’re gone at the end of the month.  I also decided to use the Fab Friday sketch challenge as the inspiration for the card layout but took some liberties with the sketch by flipping it and adding elements to finish the card.

I started with Lost Lagoon cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock for the cardfront and added a couple of strips of the Metallic Glitter Tape (FREE during Sale-a-bration).  For the lower strip I used the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Tape and used a sponge and Lost Lagoon to color the glitter tape (love this ability!!)  Then I added a couple of staples over the glitter tape using the Handheld Stapler.

For the stamped image I used the Botanicals for You stamp set (FREE during Sale-a-bration) and stamped the “just for you” image on Whisper White cardstock using Blackberry Bliss ink.  I matted this with some Botanicals Gardens Designer Series Paper and attached it to the cardfrong with dimensionals.  I used some Mossy Meadow ink to stamp some of the leaf type images on the cardfront to frame the greeting.  I also stamped the small flower on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Lost Lagoon ink and cut it out with Paper Snips and attached it with a little piece of dimensional.  After it was attached to the card I curled the petals up and added a small rhinestone to the center.

I wanted to add more to the greeting but only wanted to use part of the word stamp (just wanted “awesome”) so I used my Tangelo Twist Stampin’ Write Marker to color just the word I needed and stamped it on Hello Honey cardstock.  The greeting was punched out with the Washi Label Punch (I punched it twice and used a scrap in order to make the punched piece just fit the word).  Dimensionals were used to attach the tag to the cardfront as the final piece.

I love how the Botanicals for You SAB items (stamp set and vellum) were designed to coordinate with the DSP, flower stamp set and framelits for fabulous looking projects without the guess work.  I’m also glad that even though SAB is nearly over I’ll have these items to use on future projects for fun.  I hope you have all the SAB items you’ve had on your wish list for future use, if not, run don’t walk and get your order in ASAP so you don’t miss out!

30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 22

Good morning!  It's time to get started and conquering my to do list and get all set for Thanksgiving next week.  I have to admit, there are times when we don't have lots of time to play and create the perfect card, sometimes we are short on time but still want to give something that is handmade and personal.  For today's gratitude card I decided to challenge myself to see what I could make in 5 minutes from start to finish (without anything started).  I started with Crumb Cake for the cardbase and stamped some of the images from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set with Crumb Cake and Tangerine Tango ink.  Next  added a couple strips of the Retro Fresh Washi Tape (washi tape is so fun and easy, just rip and place).

For the greeting I used one of the stamps from the Hip Hip Horray card kit and stamped the thanks in Tangerine Tango on Whisper White ink before punching it out with the 2" Circle Punch.  I used the same punch and cut out a circle of Coastal Cabana cardstock and embossed it with the Big Shot and Argyle Embossing Folder.  Both circles were attached to the card with Mono Liquid Adhesive.  The final touch was to add a small strip of rhinestones underneath the greeting to help accent it.

This card is so fun, you could whip up a  few in just a short time and will be set for any occasion (or wrap some up as a card set and give it as a gift).

Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge: Perfect Blend Friendship Greetings

Happy Friday peeps!  Are ready for the weekend?  This is our last weekend before the big trip and we’re going to be running around having lots of fun (football for Chris, and ICE for Aidan and me), plus there’s lots of baking and packing.  Before all this gets started I wanted to share with you the card I made for this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge.  I think I’m on Christmas overload so I decided to make a non-holiday card for this challenge. These colors are nice and warm so I immediately decided to use the Perfect Blend stamp set.  I stamped the coffee cup three times in Baked Brown Sugar Ink, on Very Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar, and Daffodil Delight cardstock.  I cut out the cup, lid, and coffee collar in the different colors with Paper Snips and glued them all together.  I used the greeting in the set and Cherry Cobbler ink.

The cardbase for the card is Baked Brown Sugar and I added a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock.  I used my go to stamp set, Gorgeous Grunge to stamp the different splatter and lines in lines (it kind of reminds me of coffee splatter).  I added some rhinestones and a piece of Season of Style Washi Tape in the top right corner.

This card is very similar to one I made for Halloween and I just naturally went with the same layout, love it!  This is such a fun stamp set and card, it would be perfect to send a friend a card to let them know you’re thinking of them on a random day.  It’s so fun to see all the different ideas that can come out of the same color selection, you should check them out.

Have an enjoyable Friday and hope you get some crafting time!

Halloween Greetings!

Happy Halloween friends!  I hope you have a fun and safe day and all your little ghosts and goblins have a great time and don’t get too sick from all the candy and sweets that will be consumed.  Today I thought I would share my final Halloween card for the year, and this is the card that I made to send to our family and friends.  It’s pretty simple but has lots of fun elements.  The cardbase is Summer Starfruit and I added a layer of Basic Gray cardstock that was stamped with the large spiderweb image from the Bite Me Photopolymer stamp set.  I also added a piece of Witches Brew Designer Series Paper along the bottom and a piece of the cute Witches Brew Washi Tape along the center.  A couple of rhinestones were added to the washi tape for a little bling.

The main stamped image is from the Halloween Bash stamp set and I used Stampin’ Write markers in various colors to color directly on the rubber so I could stamp all the different colors at the same time (this was one of the first techniques I learned and it’s still one of my favorites).  This piece was cut out with the Big Shot and the Décor Label Framelits.  I created a mat for the stamped image by cutting a piece of Basic Black cardstock with the same framelits.  The stamped image was attached to the card with dimensionals so it’s raised off the card for dimension.

This card is so fun and great to send Halloween greetings.  I did use one of the stamps from the Bite Me stamp set to stamp “Happy Halloween” on the inside of the card.

Enjoy and have a great day,

Diana

Paper Player's Sketch Challenge: Perfectly Grungey Halloween Wishes

Good morning!  Today I'm looking forward to the start of another action packed weekend after finishing up the work week in a few hours.  Today's card is for this weeks Paper Player's Sketch challenge and is all about kid's, which I love!  Since I've been hard at work on Halloween projects for the past couple of weeks I immediately thought of the cute little pumpkin from the Perfectly You hostess stamp set and knew it would be perfect for my little pumpkin, or yours!  The cardbase is Basic Gray and I added a layer of Very Vanilla Cardstock.  At the bottom I added a strip of Witches Brew designer series paper along with the coordinating Witches Brew Washi Tape (this stuff is so easy to use and addictive).  The greeting is from the Perfectly You hostess set and was stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink and punched out with the Hexagon Punch.  I decided to mat the hexagon with a piece of Witches Brew DSP that was punched out with the Label Bracket Punch.  I used dimensionals on both the hexagon and bracket piece so it really pops.

For the top corner I decided to use my go to stamp set, Gorgeous Grunge and stamped the images in Pumpkin Pie, Summer Starfruit, and Smoky Slate.  I had to use another piece of Washi tape to help balance the project and finished it off with a few randomly placed rhinestones, love the sparkle (Aidan loves to use rhinestones and glitter on his projects so I had to include them).
This card is really clean and simple and so fun, all the little ghosts and pumpkins will love it!  I've noticed that I haven't used my Big Shot in the past several projects I've worked on which is so rare, but it's fun to change things up and show you can make cute and fun projects with just a few simple items.

Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend.

Stylin' Stampin' Squad August Blog Hop: Holiday Catalog Preview, Toil and Trouble

Good morning friends!  It's that time of the month, the Stylin' Stampin' Squad blog hop starts today and we're so excited to share lots of fun ideas using the products in the newly release Holiday catalog.  There are so many fabulous products in this catalog for Halloween, Fall/Thanksgiving, and Christmas as well as so many kits and bundles to help you save time and money on projects there is really something for everyone.  If you've been moving along this hop you're joining me from Bree's site (I love all her projects), if you're just starting the hop from my site you can continue around the hop so you don't miss anything.

For my project I decided to make a halloween card (I love decorating for Halloween and giving cards and gifts it's a great way to kick off the full holiday season).  This card uses the new Toil and Trouble stamp set.  I started with a cardbase of Crumb Cake and used my Paper Piercer to pierce the design in the top and bottom right corners.  Next I took a piece of Basic Black cardstock and stamped the skeleton in Versamark and heat embossed with Whisper White embossing powder.  I also added strips of Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape (this tape is so fun and easy).  I matted this layer on a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock that I sponged around the edges with Basic Gray ink.

The main stamped image is also from the Toil and Trouble stamp set and was stamped with Smoky Slate ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I cut this element out with the Big Shot and the Apothecary Accents framelits before sponging around the edge (and all over) with Crumb Cake ink.  Next I selected random words on the image to highlight and stamped them again in different color in and/or paper and cut them out (sponged around all the edges) and attached them to the card with dimensionals so they pop up.  The final touch was to add a greeting from the Delightful Dozen stamp set that was stamped on Summer Starfuit cardstock (I used a Stampin' Write Marker to color in just the greeting since the stamp also has a pumpkin which I didn't want to use on this card and punched it out with the Word Window Punch (once again sponged round the edges) and popped it up with dimensionals as well.

I played around with this card a lot but in the head I'm absolutely in love with how it turned out, it has a fun design without being either too scary or kiddish which I love.  With all the great coordinating Halloween projects in the Holiday catalog it's going to be so fun and simple to make fabulous projects, I can't wait.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and I hope I've inspired you with fun ideas using products from the Halloween suite (I would love for you to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my project) and please take the time to follow along the hop, Annie is next up and you'll definitely want to see what she has to share.

Thanks and happy stamping!
