For my contribution for today's Hop
I made a Non Traditional Holiday Recipe Tag!

memory box holiday recipe tag front

During "Our" (Spanish speaking people) up coming traditional Holiday gatherings;
We have 9 in total, starting Dec 16th until Christmas eve,  known as "Novena" for Colombians  and for Mexicans as "Posadas",  I will be giving to each guest this tag with one of my favorite recipes included on the inside.  Each family take turns to host during these 9 evenings...and on the day that it is my turn I will be giving away to each guest as a memento of our night this tag!

This year I wanted to make something different and I decided to make a tag to give away with a non holiday traditional theme and with unusual colors for the season.
For this I used this beautiful "Bountiful Sunflower" die from Poppystamps

paired with some stencils and dies from Memory Box

For the top I used a flower die from Memory Box

and the inside and front of the tag were stenciled with  the "Blooming Frame" and the "Mesh" stencils.
I place a button with an elastic for the closure.

Hope you give it a try making Holiday projects using as well non traditional colors and themes!

Here it is today's complete list of the DT participating in this event!
Have fun hoping!

"Tapenade" recipe card...

Hello My Dear Stamper Friends:
Memory Box released this "olive branch" die back in January 2014 and I,  inmediately  knew what project I will be doing with it...

I love "Tapenade", which is a Provençal / French dish...

made out of chopped and puréed black olives, capers, anchovies, olive oil, ail and a pinch of balsamic vinegar all mixed in the blender or in a mortar.

Its name comes from the Provençal word for capers, "tapenas". It is a popular food in the south of France, where it is generally eaten as an hors d'œuvre, spread on bread. Also found in Italy!

I used a "chalkboard" paper found at Michael's and wrote the recipe in French with white gel pen on the board as French Menus are presented in France at various restaurants...
(the ingredients for the recipe in english are listed up)

The "Faux wood frame" is done  with 4 pieces of stripes of cardstock embossed with a Tim Toltz embossing folder and distressed with inks ...see below detail of  the finished corners...

At a "French theme"  dinner that I had at home, I served "Tapenade" ...
This is how it looked my place setting ...each guest had the recipe as a souvenir to take home.
The table cloth is a "traditional" Provençal table cloth that I brought from my years abroad...
Nice, where I lived is famous for its Olives and of course for the "Tapenade"...

For the olives: I place some drops of "Glossy accents" on top of the olives after being colored  with a "Copic" marker..
See the corners of the "Faux wood frame", cut in diagonal to mimic a real frame

I enjoyed very much doing this card and my guests were happy to take home a homemade card with the recipe on it...

NOTE:  I added a section with ALL my stenciling techniques in the tool bar section called "More" for easy access...

Thanks for the visit and for your lovely comments!

SUPPLIES:

note: the "vintage bottles" is a retiring die so if you like it ( it comes with the 3 bottles)  get it while supplies last!
