Flowers and a Bookmark - Wednesday with Claudine

Happy Wednesday to ya, thanks again for coming by and spending this time with me once again

I hope your having a great week.. Today marks another new challenge over at Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog and this week our wonderful hostess is Kristin and she has chosen the challenge "Flowers"

Even though it's the end of August we still have a few flowers here in Colorado. It's sad though because soon it will become colder and our flowers will go dormant for another winter.

I decided to make a bookmark for this project and I wanted it to have the flower by artist

Janet Klein called - Sunflower Left

I had originally created something else for this project and didn't like it so I cut this flower out of my original project so I could still use it. No waste! haha!

I also used one of my favorite stamps by artist
Linda Peterson called Hazel Jester
All of the Hazel stamps are so cute but this one is my favorite, Hazel Jester definitely has that cuteness factor

I created an "arm" and "hand" for my Hazel so it would look like she was standing there holding this flower, although I'm not so great at drawing I though it turned out ok. LOL

Thanks for coming by and have a great day.

Using Newspaper or Magazine - Wednesday with Claudine

Hello all, it's that time again, time for another challenge over at
Stampotique Designers Challenge. This week our wonderfully talented Magda Polakow is our hostess and she has chosen the theme "Use a piece of magazine or newspaper"

You would think this would be an easy challenge
but for me, I don't use newspaper or magazines
very much. I mostly use stamps in my backgrounds
so this was tough for me.

Needless to say I scoured over my newspaper from the passed few days looking for a good piece.
I found something in the Michael's add of all places haha!
SO I decided to make a postcard for my piece and I went with the following Stampotique Stamps:

Hazel Jester - By artist Linda Peterson

Clothes Text - Also by artist Linda Peterson

I used a piece of printed card stock for my background and added the "flowery" piece of newspaper that I tore out of my Michael's add

This is what it looked like from the start

I then added some painting and washi tape
I heat embossed my text and Hazel and colored them with colored pencils (I made my Hazel a bumblebee to show her in a costume)
Lastly - I added a flower with a button center

Here is my finished postcard

Because Bees like flowers I just love my magazine piece in the background there.

I hope you have enjoyed my project for today and hopefully all the bees are buzzing around in your neck of the woods because that means it's warm and there are lots of flowers out.

my goodness, Sarah's made another card!

My little girl was 17 this week and as she's just finished a dance show Hazel dancing was the perfect image!

I used one of my new stamps 'Baroque background' for the grass, and Janet's lovely clouds cover up all the black smudges I can't help but add to my cards!!!

A few sparkles in the daisies and I was happy with my card.  Sorry for the short post, it's sheer madness at work at the moment!
