Phindys Die Cut

Hallo,
Wow - I am sooo tired of the heat!!! I am so ready for fall - yesterday the heat index at 6 am was 90 - WOW!!!!
Everyone is sleeping late today - except me it seems, I will need a nap later for work but for now - couldn't sleep any longer......
So nice to have my DD home!!!!! :)
I did this card for the current challenge over at Phindys - to use a die cut. I used one of my newer labels dies and did an out-of-the-box technique for the pool.
Couldn't find a sentiment I liked for this one will probably do somethiong like "Keep Cool" on it eventually....

Summer Plans

Hallo,
This is an illustration of my DS's plans/dreams for his summer - sitting in front of the Xbox with chips, soda and a candy bar... LOL Too bad for him that the parental plan for him was a bit different.... :) This image from Mo's even looks like him when he's playing.....except I made the hair a bit redder on this one :).
I did this card for the current challenge over at Mo's for 'something sweet - food wise' - it skinnies in there with the candy bar and soda :) - I don't have too many cupcake images (they seem to have calories - every time I buy a cupcake stamp or digital, I gain 2 lbs...... :)




He is colored with prismacolor pencils and cut out with a Spellbinders labels die - using and out-of-the-box technique....

Well I had best get busy - my house needs cleaning big time!!! My sister and her family are vacationing nearby next week and are planning on popping in one day so maybe I should do a bit more cleaning than usual.....naaaaa.....but it needs to have the usual done at least......
Best of all - only 14 hours till my DD comes home from 2 weeks of ROTC camp, so am looking forward to huggin' my girl!!!

Flourishes Vintage Christmas

Hallo,
Oh boy, trying to get my rear in gear this am - and not having too much luck....Old meow was determined to make sure we didn't get much sleep last night.....and she was successful !!!
I have managed to get laundry started and out for a walk (because my poor ol mutt was whining and bouncing at the window...).
I should get going to the gym but just cannot seem to find the energy.....I will need to run out for groceries but I think I will be in the craft room for most of the day :) (a bit of housework too....too hot for yard work - although I got out early enough for my walk that it wasn't too bad).
Well on to todays card - one of my favorite sets from Flourishes colored with prismacolor pencils.
It is such a cute little Christmas set - decided to go more vintage with it this time....

Outlines Christmas

Hallo,


I am going to prepost this for thursday this week - I have several bigger projects that I have been trying to get done in the craft room and so I hope to be working on them.


I have a barbie suitcase that I am redoing to use as a fancy foo-foo cat bed and a recovered briefcase to finally finish - several other projects are half done also but I think I will be lucky to get the first 2 mentioned finished.....

I colored the wisemen stamp with copic markers and spica glitter pens, then added some viva decor pearls (liquid type pearls) inthe corners of the design.

Forest Cat Princess

Hallo,
Wednesday am and just getting off work - 4 DAYS OFF!!!!!! I will get a short nap and then have some errands to run, hope to get to the gym and some cleaning done.....
But first I want to show you an ATC that I did with one of my new stamps from 'Sweet Pea Stamps' I really love this series - already shown you the one with the wolf, so today is the one with the Bobcat - aren't they just too cool!!!!
I colored them with prismacolor and lyra pencils - the image itself is right about ATC size and is wonderful all by itself so I didn't add anything in the way of foo-foo.





I colored their eyes the same and her lips match his nose too - can you tell I had fun with this one!!!

Mo's Summer Play

Papertrey Ink - inspiration

Hallo,
A quick little second post for the day - I need to get a nap in before work, but I had a card in my head to do and it was due for a challenge this evening so here it is....
As I was blog surfin this am I saw a challenge over at Papertrey Ink's blog - http://www.nicholeheady.typepad.com/
with this great inspiration photo.
What caught my eye was the quilt with all the embroidery on it, the turquoise pillow and framed by the orangeyred curtains.
I used several different sets - Guidelines 2, Giga guidelines, and Flourishes and did several layers of color and embossing all on one layer.
Then I added liquid pearls in several colors to match the red, turquoise, and gold embossing.


All for today - naptime and then 12 hours on night shift....

Phindy's Double Up

Hallo,
Monday morning.....lots of errands to run and work later tonight so getting an early start today.
I did this card for the current challenge over at Phindy's for 'double up' - to have 2 of something on your creation.
I was low on guy cards so pulled out this great image from Phindy's. I colored him up with prismacolor pencils and cut him out with a Spellbinders label die. The back panel is a piece of dark gray DP that I ran through a woodgrain texture folder that I had inked with black ink.
I added 2 brads that look like screw tops to one corner.

Welcome Home

Hallo,

Just a sweet Sunday afternoon here - missin my DD who has been away at camp....but at least she has called every day, makes her old fuddy duddy Mom feel better!!

I did this card up for a friend who is moving, and for the current challenge over at the IO (Impression Obsession) blog which was for anything along with a ton of giveaways for CHA sneak peak week. Check it out here - http://www.mitrafriant.typepad.com/

The stamp is from Impression Obsession of course -"House" G1742 - and is colored with copics. I also used some flower soft for the flowers in the window boxes.

It was cut out with a Spellbinders labels die and layered to some DP. I alos added some flatbacked pearls for accents.

All for today - trying to get a few bigger projects done in my craft room (in addition to keeping up with my challenges).

Buttons, bows and bling

Hallo,





A quick note on a saturday am....worked last night so am headed for a nap soon, hoping to get some house cleaning and maybe some time in the pool too...but first to show you a little House Mouse tidbit and then a nap.....





I did this for the current challenge over at the House Mouse and Friends blog for buttons, bows and bling.



Well I did a big lace bow with a button in the center and a rhinestone in the center of the button, and then blinged it up with some gold 'bead in a bottle from tulip' for the heads of the stick pens and some corner accents.

Flourishes purple and gray

Hallo,
Thursday here and I finished up a bunch of stuff in my craft room today.
I LOVE to do challenges and I think I am finally getting organized!! I have started a tablet with one page for each challenge I like to do and then when I sit down to relax on the couch in the evening I look at the list and pick one to color up - then when I get time in the craft room I just have to put it all together. Today when I went to the craft room I had 6 things colored and ready to go (patially because of several hours in the middle of the night last night coloring when I couldn't sleep......) so I was able to get 6 different things done very quickly today!!!!
I even managed to run my DS and friends down to the beach for the day - DH will pick them up later for me as I work tonight and DEFINATLY NEED a nap!!! And I ran out to have lunch with my good friend Pat too :)
Todays card was done for this weeks FTTC127 challenge over at Flourishes - the inspiration photo had these wonderful wicker lounges in gray (hence the textured gray layer) with bright purple coushins (hence the color of the flowers). Treat Bags

Hallo,
Backposting today - hardly saw my craft room or my computer at all yesterday....I ran a couple errands in the morning after work and then grabbed a couple hours sleep. I got up early to go see Harry Potter with my DS and a couple of his friends.
Harry Potter was awesume BTW!!!! I am sad to see the series done - both my kids grew up reading HP, both learned to read faster because of HP, and I read HP aloud to them at the begining.....
Didn't get too much sleep last night as sometimes happens on my first day off - I slept not enough to feel like I had a good sleep but just enough so that I am awake in the middle of the night....but all was good as I head for the craft room at 1 am and broke out the copics and my colored pencils.....

The challenge was for 'sweet treats' so I made a couple Birthday themed treat bags.
The base of the bag is a Spellbinders grand label and I used some glimmer mist and a screen on them. Layered on top is a stamp from Outlines - colored with copics.

PTI pockets

Hallo,


Early monday am here - didn't work last night but will work a different day later in the week when my unit is a bit busier.


I finished this up last night for a challenge over at the Papertrey Ink blog - for a pocket card with and edger die - sadly I don't have any of the PTI edger dies so I used a different one.


The stamps are all from Papertry Ink - Giga Guigelines. I stamped and embossed the Giga Guidelines on the DP of the pocket too...

Polka Kitties

Hallo,
I am still lovin the rain!!! It started raining here friday night and is still raining - sometimes just a light sprinkle, sometimes a downpour, but this is the most rain we have had in almost a year.
I didnot do any house work, or yard work, or even excersise yesterday.....I had excersised 5 days in a row so I took yesterday off - course that means I need to get off my duff sometime today (and considering that I work tonight I had better get a move on...).
I did however get alot of coloring for a couple projects done yesterday in the craft room. I have plans on a fancy little kitty bed made on the theme of this card but I knew I wouldn't get it completed today so I made a card to go with it.
I did this one for the current challenge over at the Outlines blog for 'polka dots' - this cat collage image already had polka dots but the background is coredinations paper - black with sanded off to show the pink from a dots texture folder. Mo's black and white

Hallo,
Rain, Rain - I love the rain!!! We have had so little rain in a long time that it is wonderful to see. It started yesterday afternoon, rained all night and is still lightly raining with bouts of downpour - lovin it.
And it gives me the excuse to be inside at the craft table!!! :)

This cute little pirate is a Mo's image of course and is colored with copics, layered rather simply onto red DP and then gray cardstock and added some flatbacked pearls.
