Merry Christmas Jar

Hallo,
Well I had a couple hours in the craft room today - my DD had homework and DS was playing video games. I had time to get this card done for a challenge for PTI ( Papertrey Ink).
Check out the challenge here - www.nicholeheady.typepad.com
The challenge was to use die cuts and some Papertrey Ink products. I used stamps from several PTI Jars sets and Spellbinders die cuts.
I colored the images with copics and added some blue liquid beads (tulip - beads in a bottle).
I am slowly getting my Christmas cards done - I have about 35 /40 made and need around 60 to send.....
All for today :)
Have a great week everyone - Its back to work for me tomorrow night :( It has been so very nice to have time off!!!

Papertrey Ink - inspiration

Hallo,
A quick little second post for the day - I need to get a nap in before work, but I had a card in my head to do and it was due for a challenge this evening so here it is....
As I was blog surfin this am I saw a challenge over at Papertrey Ink's blog - http://www.nicholeheady.typepad.com/
with this great inspiration photo.
What caught my eye was the quilt with all the embroidery on it, the turquoise pillow and framed by the orangeyred curtains.
I used several different sets - Guidelines 2, Giga guidelines, and Flourishes and did several layers of color and embossing all on one layer.
Then I added liquid pearls in several colors to match the red, turquoise, and gold embossing.

All for today - naptime and then 12 hours on night shift....

PTI pockets

Hallo,

Early monday am here - didn't work last night but will work a different day later in the week when my unit is a bit busier.

I finished this up last night for a challenge over at the Papertrey Ink blog - for a pocket card with and edger die - sadly I don't have any of the PTI edger dies so I used a different one.

The stamps are all from Papertry Ink - Giga Guigelines. I stamped and embossed the Giga Guidelines on the DP of the pocket too...

Check out the challenge here - http://www.nicholeheady.typepad.com/

Well thats it for me this am - sorry so short, going to try and get a few errands and chores done that I had planned for later in the week (since I switched my schedule a bit...).

PTI - photo negative

Hallo,
Playing in the craft room again today. I saw this technique over at the Papertrey Ink - called photo negative - though I tweaked it a bit.
Instead of the white frame I used a frame of walnut stain distress ink.
All the stamps are from Papertrey Ink. The base is kraft cardstock with walnut ink for the word background and stamped off rusty hinge for the 'Giga guidlines' . The main panel is stamped with memento brown and colored with copics.
I added some embellishments with a tulip ' beads in a bottle' in copper.
Check out the Papertrey Ink blog for a great tutorial and the details of the challenge - www.nicholeheady.typepad.com
All for today - time for me to get int the pool for some water aerobis :) and then maybe a bit of laying around.

Teapot gift box

Hallo,
Back with some stamping stuff today. I did another altered cigar box with a tea theme - this time the stamp set is from Papertrey Ink.
I used all the same papers and ink so the only thing different is the stamps.
I love this tea set (I love all 4 of the various tea sets I have)
This tea set from PTI is great for paper piecing and I love the little add ons - honey stick, tea leaves holder ect...
I made up a gift pack of tea bags for the inside - out of one of the plastic boxes that PTI stamps come in BTW as they are awsome for this kind of thing!!! And I also made up 4 invitations to go with the set.
I put this gift up on my Etsy shop as its been a little neglected lately!!!

All for tonight - my patio and a good book seems to be calling my name this evening :)

Tea with a friend

Hallo,
I think I am finally back in the swing of things. I had a bit of time to play at the craft table this weekend :).
I am preposting for you today as I am at work - the kiddos and DH are all off today (insert pout).
Last week was a bit busy - DH had a heart cath done on tuesday morning (thankfully totally negative) - later that afternoon DD needed to set up for Regional Science Fair and I let her drive there (only second time driving on main roads verses backroads...), then off to pick up DS from swim team practice....worked wednesday and thursday... friday = errands, house work and a bit of time at the craft table on friday.... saturday swim meet......Well as I said - it was a busy week :)

This picture was started on the base of a new die cut designed by my friend Vicki for accu cut - see her blog for more info and some great projects using the die - http://www.vickichrisman.blogspot.com/
Vicki sent me some precut to play with :)
Thanks Vic!!!!
I had a tea theme in mind from a challenge over at Flourishes last week to do something based on your favorite beverage and I really enjoy hot tea. Especially a Chai Tea latte from Starbucks.
Anyway I have 2 tea themed stamp sets - fixin to have a third from Flourishes - and this one is from Gina K - http://www.ginakdesigns.com/
The backround on the die cut and the 'wallpaper' behind is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set - http://www.papertreyink.com/
I used copics to color the images and some spellbinders dies, and some flat backed pearls too.

All for today

Home Sweet Granny

Hallo,
Just a fun little card I did yesterday to send to my Mom. Mom is doing very well after her knee replacement but I couldn't resist making her this card. Mom is still using a walker and the white hose Granny is wearing are the compression stockings they have to wear for a few weeks after surgery.
My Mom looks much younger than this Granny does by the way!!! And yes I colored her slipper pink to match Mom's favorite slipper from a couple posts ago (although Grannys look in alot better shape than Mom's :).

Granny, the walker and the Home Sweet Home picture are all from Hanna stamps and the rest of the stamps are from Papertrey Ink.
Granny, the walker and the pictures are all colored with copics. The wood floor I drew in and colored with prismacolor pencils.
The couches are paper pieced, and the pictures on the wall and Granny are all stamped on white paper and layered on top - Granny with foam tape to pop her up a bit.
Last but not least I went with a challenge from Flourishes this week to create a scene. See what everyone else has done here - http://www.flourishesnewsletter.blogspot.com/

All for tonight - Have a great weekend!!!!

Papertrey gift set

Hallo,

I managed to get a little more time in the craft room while the kiddos argued/debated back and forth the pro's and cons of Pokemon verses Naruto....

This is a gift set that I started in one of my classes on my Cruise in October - The stamp set is from Papertrey and the gift box in made from the container that her stamp sets come in which is cool.

There is a funny story that goes with this set.... I am known as the family klutz, just ask my kids, even my coworkers know that I am somewhat of a klutz - too bad I didn't warn Nicole (from Papertrey Ink) as I probably about gave her a heart attack.

I was trying to cut ribbon for the box and my scissors were dull so I was borrowing the scissors of the very sweet lady sitting next to me, well the second or third time I borrowed them I dropped them, tried to catch them and stabbed myself in the wrist - and yes it hit the artery....good thing I am a Nurse eh - I grabbed my wrist and held pressure and by the time the ships medics got to the room it had stopped bleeding (I took some bandages and washed up, dressed it up...but class was pretty much done by then). Sooo embarrassing!!!!

I had to laugh - the girl sitting behind me told me - "I know it looks pretty callous, but if I don't keep stamping, I will faint".

One of the older ladies in the back says "You DH is going to say 'What did you do?" And my reply to her was to imagine this pic of my DH first - kinda looks like a biker dude, dew rag, small ponytail, small beard - and he says "NOW what did you do?" I ussually trip over things without really doing any damage but ever so often....
All for today - One less unfinished project on my desk :) !!!!
Wish my luck at work tomorrow - looks like its going to be a busy one!!!!
Have a Great Christmas!!!!
