Stasis in motion

Hallo,
Stopping in real quick this am to show off these 2 small paintings. They are both cold wax and oils, attached to archival foam board and matted to slip into an 11 by 14 inch frame. They are listed on my Etsy shop and if you are local to me they are on my print rack at HH Arts Gallery in Fort Walton Beach also.
I used palette knives and other texture tools to paint these onto arches oil paper. They look really nice together or separate.

Turquoise moods

 Hallo,
Another couple from my red and turquoise phase. These 2 were done onto arches oil paper with cold wax and oil. They are backed with archival foam board and matted - the first one is in a frame and the second one in a plastic sleeve ready to put in a frame.
I have started a new adventure with my art - I have some of my art listed now on a site called 'Saachiart' . You can see my page here - https://www.saatchiart.com/terafujan
I would love it if you stopped over to my Saatchiart page and check it out!!!!
The first one here I have framed and is up on the Saachiart page. I will be adding alot more art as soon as work and life allows!!!
   Have a great day!!!

Turquoise vibrations

 Hallo,
Stopping in to show you a 3some  I did in my recent red and turquoise phase. I really love red and turquoise together - they just seem to vibrate and move.
These were done with cold wax and oils onto cradled board. They measure 16 by 20 and the sides are finished in black.
The middle one of the group is - as of today - hanging in the county building in Shalimar Fl. for their annual show(they hang there for a year - unless someone buys them and then the artist replaces it with another painting)

Turquoise vibrations - cold wax and oil

Hallo,
Another painting the red spectrum for you today - our local Arts and Design Society's current show is '75% Red' so I have been playing with red the last couple months....
This painting is 11 by 14 inches framed out to 16 by 20 and is done with cold wax and oils onto arches oil paper.
I love the energy that red and turquoise make together, they just seem to vibrate.

Red and turquoise

Hallo,
I have been doing a cycle of red and turquoise paintings lately. This is a small one at only 6 by 6 inches.
I framed it out in a float frame which I really like how it looks!!!
Cold wax and oils, this one has a lot of texture and nice deep shades of red under the brighter red makes for some nice dimension.

Gold leaf collage

Hallo,
I have a collage piece to show you this am. When I am working with my cold wax and oils and have left over paint at the end of the day I have been 'painting' it onto a piece of arches oil paper and since I had a couple filled up I decided to use them. I tore them into pieces and glued them onto a cradled board.
The cold wax and oils would keep till the next day if I was able to paint every day but since I only get the chance to paint a couple times a week(if lucky) I decided not to totally waste the paint.
Once dry - I added some skeleton leaves on top of the collage and then embossed some metal foil to a couple of the leaves.
The sides are finished with brown paint - cold wax and oils.
This piece is 8 by 10 inches.

Stormy sunrise

Hallo,
I played around with a couple sunrise/sunset type pics a few weeks ago. This one is onto cradled board and is 11 by 14 inches.
Kinda a stormy look and a bit of beach down in the corner.
I finished off the sides in white.
This is cold wax and oils again - haven't heated up my encaustics in awhile - takes a while to melt and the knee hasn't been too thrilled with standing or sitting on my high stool for too long just yet.....soon though.

Palm tree

Hallo,
Well it has been awhile since I have posted anything but I have had a good excuse. I had a knee replacement on my left knee on 7 Jan and have been working on healing. All is going well and I will be back to the work grind in a couple weeks.
I have a couple paintings I have been meaning to show you - done in the last few months - some in the last couple weeks between PT and naps....
This painting is a little one - 6 by 6 inches. It is done with cold wax and oils. It was a fun little piece that I puttered around with for a couple months and am finally calling it finished. I kept looking at him and would dab a bit here and there and then look at him for another week or so.....
All for today - will be back to show off a few more paintings in the next couple days.

Windows and layers

 Hallo,
Called this one done late this last week - had the idea of a city billboard type area where a lot of noticed are posted and painted over and ect......didn't really turn out how I had envisioned but I like it, for now ...wont mess with it unless it tells me something more definite.....
I used some book pages from a book that was written it looks like as a Korean to English translation, an old calendar page of buildings in Italy and a page from an old Nat Geo of some girls from India with a picture of Gandhi in the background....
I painted with cold wax and oils and put the pictures in between the layers of wax and oil.
Still getting used to the cold wax - like the encaustic there are so many possibilities and not near enough time, but am lovin it!!!

Winters hold weakens

 Hallo,
Another of this weeks finished projects for you....
This is the tallest of the candle holders that I altered. I painted it with 2 shades of rust paint, as I did the birdcage and the tray under the birdcage and then sprayed them all with acrylic sealer.
The mannequin form was painted with cold wax and oils. Once dry I added some clay pieces from a mold I made of 'helicopter seed' - sycamore I believe. I collected a whole pile the last time I was home at my Mom's. The ones we have here in Florida have really tiny seeds and Mom's tree up north has huge ones!!!
I used one clay piece as a necklace and a bunch on her back for wings, and then several scattered on the tray also.
My hubby, son and I tried out new kayaks yesterday morning which was fun - I can feel my arms a bit this am but not too bad. We have had the kayaks about 3 weeks but with all the rain we hadn't gotten them out yet.
We put in at a little strip of beach on the bay only about 5 minutes from our house, we were out about 40 minutes as it was a bit windy and we didn't want to over do it....it was a lot of fun!!!
All for this am - need to get a move on.....
