Black and White 2

Hello and welcome to my second inspiration project for the challenge over at Country View Challenges!
As you may know, the theme this month is Black & White or Black & White with one other colorl.

For my first piece I made a wall hanger, for this I made a video, where you can watch how I made it.

My second piece is a card. It´s made pretty much like the first one, I only changed the stencils and stamps and added a few embellishing.

I used the stamp set Theories from Tim Holtz - I really love the images from this set and the sentiments as well!

To get a really black image, I stamped the ballon man 3 times. I used the stamp platform for it. I couldn´t resist to make the little heart red and I like this tiny hint of color on this card!

I embellished the card with black and white threat and a single white flower. The sentiment I embossed with black Embossing Powder and matted it with some dried babywipe.

I also used the sentiment stamp on the background and also parts of the ballon man stamp.

Finally I matted the card with black cardstock and glued it to the card. To repeat the pattern at the inside, I stamped the graffitti parts of the ballon man stamp with white ink on a stripe of black cardstock and glued it to the right edge of the card.

Now I hope you like my card and feel inspired to join the challenge at Country View Challenges!

DIY Cover for a Changeable Calendar

Hello dear visitors, welcome to my blog!

Here in my district in Bavaria we drown in snow at the moment, even the schools are closed! And it still keeps on snowing!

So I use the spare time for writing this post.

The last years I used to pimp up a calender for my mother and she always loved them. But she said, that it is always a pity to throw it away after one year!
Then I discovered a changeable calendar called MODUS XL, fitting to the needs of my mother, and I decided to make a reuseble cover for it!
Here is what I did:

If you want to know, how I made it, you only have to watch the process video. So grab a cup of tea and enjoy watching!

Here are two close ups:

So I will go outside now and shovel snow again 😏💪
Thank you for stopping by, I wish you a wonderful day!

I want to participate in following challenges:

Perfect Peace - Art Journal Page for CVC

Hello dear visitors, nice to have you here! 💗

The New Year is gets moving on and we are all back to normal life I think.

Today I want to share with you my second inspiration peace piece for the January challenge cityscape/landscape over at Country View Challenges.
I must admit, landscapes are not something I do very often and it´s totally out of my comfort zone. So I was sitting here thinking round and round, what I could do. I do not have stamps for cityscape or landscape, so it was not easy for me!
But then I looked out the window and watched the falling snow - then I knew what I wanted to do - a wintery landscape! As you might know, I live here near the Alpes, surrounded by mountains. I remembered a walk through the wood and it was snowing. And when I looked to the landscape, standing at the edge of the wood, I thought: "Wow, how peaceful the world looks!"

Having this in mind, I created my art journal page:

I made a process video, so enjoy watching!

Here are some close ups:

That´s it for today!
Now I hope, you will join in with our January challenge, I am curious, what you will show us! And of course, just like the years before, you can win a 20£ voucher to spend in the shop!

Cityscape - Day 1 of my USA/Canada Travel Journal for CVC

Hello and Happy New Year to all of you!

New Year - new challenge at Country View Challenges! This time my lovely team mate Craftyfield has chosen the theme "Cityscape/Landscape".
This is what she says:

The theme for January is Cityscape/Landscape, chosen by Craftyfield.
For this challenge we want to see countryside or city scenes. Seascapes and mountain scenes are OK too, but a single house with or without garden, a few trees do not constitute a landscape... Feel free to add faeries or critters however, the scenes do not need to be realistic!

Last year I went with my daughter on a wonderful vacation to the USA and Canada. I made a Travel Journal, in which I wanted to write all our adventures day by day.
But - we were so busy, that I didn´t make it to fill the pages meanwhile the travel. So I hoarded all the cards, tickets, bits and bobs, wrote on a notepad, what we did every day and thought, I´ll fill the journal, when we are back home.
Well, you guessed it already...... Life went to it´s normal course and the travel journal sat in a drawer, waiting to be filled.

Now, thank you Christine for giving me the reason to work on it 😉😊

Here is the first day of our travel - arrival in New York.

I prepared the background with Gesso and took some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Rose Gold for a little bit muted color. Then I added the Cityscape, also colored with Rose Gold and glued down all the other elements from our first day in New York City and framed the pictures with some doodling. Some stamping added a bit more interest.
At last I journaled, what happend at this day - and that´s it!

I made a little step by step - video, so sit back and enjoy watching!

Here is the skyline from NYC, I found on clipart-library.com for free download.

The pictures of the Times Square, Hard Rock Café and the Black Iron Burger I found on internet.

That´s it for today!

I wish you a wonderful, creative and healthy New Year and we would be happy, if you´ll find time to join in with our challenges at Country View Challenges this year again!
