Fairy Fun Fridays

It seems like forever since I have posted here.  My husband's laptop broke, so guess who has been on my computer, working from home the past two weeks?!  What's a girl to do?  LOL

We are midway through the current FAIRY FUN FRIDAY  Challenge.  Our Hostess, Kelly, has chosen "Spring Fling" as the theme.  There are already over seventy wonderful cards on display, along with some scrumptious projects from the Prairie Fairy Design Team.  You will have no lack of inspiration with all the wonderful ideas.

You don't have to use a Prairie Fairy image to play, but you can find some great Spring images at the
PRAIRIE FAIRY DESIGNS online store.  These digital stamps are so much fun to play with, and they can be resized for fit your project perfectly.  If you've never tried digital stamps, check these out.  They are very inexpensive, and take up no space.  There will be digital stamps awarded as prizes at the end of the challenge too!!!

Here is what I came up with for Spring Fling

Fairy Fun Friday

This week's theme at Fairy Fun Friday is "Distress It"  You can check it out at the
FAIRY FUN FRIDAY BLOG where you will find all the details and see some great projects from the Fairy Princesses on the Design Team.  Our hostess is Corry.
Here is what I came up with for this fun challenge.  I used brown ink to "distress" the edges of my papers.   I also distressed the white layer by ruffing up the edges with a little  Heidi Swapp distressing tool.  The image I used is from Prairie Fairy Designs and can be found  at the PRAIRIE FAIRY DESIGNS online store along with tons of other great images.

Fairy Fun Friday

This week at the Prairie Fairy Fun Friday Blog we are playing along with Tracey's theme of "Sparkly Wings."  I love glitter, so this was especially fun for me!  I used this Sugarplum Fairies image  from Prairie Fairy Designs.  I started by printing off the image and coloring it with alcohol markers.  I used some loose glitter to fill in the wings of both fairies, and added some red  Stickles to the bow for a little extra sparkle.  I covered the front of my card with some metallic silver paper from The Paper Studio.  Then I layered the image on a piece of glitter fun foam material and adhered it to the card.  A sparkly ribbon finished off the project.

Come and join us for this fun challenge!  You do NOT have to use a Prairie Fairy image and there are prizes to win!  Good way to start off the new year (or finish the old!)

Fairy Fun Friday

It's time to sing the blues for the current challenge at FAIRY FUN FRIDAYS.  Our hostess is Cory and she has come up with a challenge to use blue AND something white.  The design team has come up with some smashingly amazing projects for this challenge.  Being that the holidays are upon us, I did a Christmas card using one of the many gorgeous angel images from PRAIRIE FAIRY DESIGNS.
Of course since there is a LAW (there is, isn't there?) about making holidays cards all sparkly and glittery, I used lots of glitter to add pazazz to my card.  You can see it a little better here:
I used some turquoise Stickles on the Christmas ornament and some clear Sparklets from DeNami on the angel wings and her lace.  I found the white and silver paper in a drawer left over from another year.  I'm pretty  sure it is from K and Company.

There is still time to play in this challenge (there are PRIZES) and you don't have to use a Prairie Fairy image on your project (although they are THE SWEETEST digital images in the universe and are also inexpensive).  So pull out your "blue stuff" and see what you can come up with!!

Cowboy

I just totally fell in love with these cowboy and cowgirl images that are new at the Prairie Fairy Store.
They are just too too CUTE!!!! They work well with a digital scrapbook kit I got at Nitwit Creations a few years ago.  The picture is of my grandson.  He was with grandpa, visiting a real Texas ranch.  They had a great day together, learning about life on a ranch and some Texas history.
Was just thinking about coloring these cuties in red and green for Christmas.   Hmmmmmm. . . . .

Fairy Fun Friday

The challenge this week at Fairy Fun Friday is "wet embossing."  Since I use digital images for this challenge, I had to put my thinking cap on.  Can't "stamp" the image with pigment ink and emboss it like I normally would do.  So I rummaged through my "stuff" and found some pens I haven't used in a long, long time.  The are embossing pens that you color with and they stay wet long enough to sprinkle clear powder on and emboss.  Perfect!!!!  Here's my card
The design team has come up with some absolutely fantastic projects this week and you can see them all at the  Prairie Fairy Fun Friday Blogspot.  You can find this Witchie Gilly image here at the Prairie Fairy Store along with other holiday images (not too early to start Christmas cards!).

Fairy Fun Friday

Well, here I am at almost 10:30 pm FINALLY getting a minute to post my project for this week's challenge.  The last two days have been crazy!  First my 3 year old granddaughter got sick (allergy/cold/ear stuff). Both her parents work, so when she gets sick, it is grandma to the rescue.  Well, we did crafts, we baked cookies, we did crafts again, we rocked in grandpa's chair, we did make-up, we hit the Mc Donald's drive thru, we played games on the computer. we played games on my Iphone, we watched BubbleGuppies--we did it ALL!  She cried when it was time to go home.  Little did she know that grandma would be babysitting again today!  My son in law called at ten thirty last night that my daughter (who is seven months pregnant) FELL and could I come over today and babysit her AND my granddaughter.  My daughter avoided falling on her stomach by takiing it all on her knee.  She was in some major pain last night and today.  Soooo BOTH grandmas were called to duty--me to babysit and the other to substitue teach my daughter's fourth graders.  I am exhausted.

Anyway, the theme for this week's Fun Friday challenge is "Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice" and you can find it HERE at the Fairy Fun Friday blog.  Our hostess is Dorte, and there are some darling projects from the Fairy Princesses.  You do NOT have to use a Prairie Fairy image to play, and there are prizes!!!!
Here is my project.  It is the granddaughter I have been talking about.  A friend of my son's sent her all this candy because she had just gotten her ears pierced.  I used FotoFusion softwear to do the page, and used some digital papers from Stampin'Up.  Of course that ADORABLE image of the "sugar fairy" is from Prarie Fairy.  You can her, along with lots of other totally sweet images HERE.

Born to be Wild

I just got off the phone with my brother, Dick.  He is in Michigan, which is about 1200+ miles away.  He calls fairly often, sometimes a couple times a week.  He is into scrapbooking and does some amazing layouts.  He is now getting into stamping a little more too.  His projects are a lot different than mine.  Where I use buttons and bows, he uses metal and wire. He made a border once out of burned matchsticks. My layouts are mostly my grandkids, his are scuba diving and Harleys.  I tell him he needs a blog (doesn't everyone?) and he says he doesn't have the time or interest.  But REALLY I wish he would "share" his creations.  So anyway, I thought of him when I did this card with this adorable Prairie Fairy image.  When he got his Harley he actually had to be on a "waiting list" for it.  He's put lots of miles on it since then.  Wonder how many of them have been to Hobby Lobby and back?

Punker Gillian

My daughter used to skate in the roller derby. When I saw this new image from
PRAIRIE FAIRY, I knew it would be perfect with pics of the roller derby girls!
The papers and other embellishments are from Nitwit. Prairie Fairy has lots of new images in the works, so be sure to go and have a look and check back often! These images are great for cards, scrapbook layouts, and other projects.  Punker Gillian comes in color and black and white and you can find her  HERE.

Mermaid Gilly

Here is another one of the NEW images from  PRAIRIE FAIRY DESIGNS.  She is the adorable  Mermaid Gilly.  Since she is a digital image, you can resize her to fit your design.  I used papers from K and Company to create my card base.

I am entering this card in the challenge at THE STAMPING BOUTIQUE.  This week's theme is "Summer Scene."

'nuther one!

Okay, so our Fairy Queen has been a busy little bee lately and has done a bunch of AWESOME new images (as I told you before) and I just had to use another one on this page of my daughter and grand daughter.  You can find the "Swinging Summer" image at PRAIRIE FAIRY DESIGNS, home of the adorable Gilly stamps that I love.
My grand daughter LOVES when she gets a "girls day out."
I used a kit from Nitwit called "Waddles and Whimsy."

Party ON

It is Friday again and time for a mid-week card using a PRAIRIE FAIRY image for our "It's My Party" theme at Fairy Fun Fridays.  This is a rockin' grandma!
Except for the embellishments, this is a totally digital card--image, papers and sentiment are all computer generated.  I was telling some of my "never used digital stamp and paper" friends that they would have a hard time telling the difference, so this is a test for them!
If  you haven't done a project for this week's challenge at Prairie Fairy, there is still time! come party with us!

Quick Post

This is just a FAST post, as it is already after 1:30 AM and I am ready to go read in bed til I fall asleep.
Am reading a Jane Austen (my fave) and love it, except I have to "translate" into the English I am used to speaking and reading !  (I have two friends from the UK that have told me they don't speak like that over there any more). The stories are so good, it is worth the effort.
Here's a picture that went so perfectly with this little Prairie Fairy image that I love so much!
My grandaughter, Marilyn, out to dinner with her parents. Quite some hat!!

Allsorts Challenge

This week's challenge theme at ALLSORTS  is "Luck of the Irish."  I chose an image from  PRAIRIE FAIRY  He is Lewis, and isn't he cute!?!  He is a digital image, so I was able to add the writing on his shirt.
I made the shamrock, using a heart punch.  The wide border is from a Martha Stewart punch and the DP is from Daisy D's.

Happy Thursday!

Here's a little card I did  a couple nights ago.   I am making cards like mad, trying to use up some of my zillions of sheets of paper so when I get the new paper I just ordered  (3 selections) I won't feel quite as guilty!!!  I don't know what it is, but paper is something hard for me to resist.  I must have thousands of sheets, and yet, there are some that I don't want to part with for a card!!! Strange?
This sweet little elephant image is from PRAIRIE FAIRY where there is a 25% off sale right now.  Everything in the store is on sale, so be sure to hop on over there and check it out.  Just click on the red link and you will be there in a second!

Fairy Fun Fridays

It is Fairy Fun Friday challenge time again and the theme is "Inspired by a Song."  I used one of the
PRAIRIE FAIRY  Gillian images and did a scrapbook layout this time.  I used photos of my grandaughters, who were having a slumber party at my house.  They love to play dress up and make cookies, which are shown in the photos.  The papers are from DELICIOUS SCRAPS.
