Your Weekend Needs A Dose of So Japan

The Harlem Shake frenzy had SGM searching for some other artists in the internet ether that may be dropping the next traptastic track.  The creatively titled "Pussy Pop" track by So Japan just amplified this President's Weekend turn up.

Enjoy.

Baauer's Harlem Shake Ignites Craze

The craze is on.  Everyone is trying to get in their own version of the Harlem Shake and make it better than the next.  From helmets to sleeping bags to underwater antics - Baauer's making people around the world get weird.

UGA's Swim Team published SGM's favorite version because they took it below sea level (metaphorically) - yet, there are plenty of Harlem Shake vids that are impressive.  Check these out:

TURNT UP: New Filth from Just Blaze & Baauer!

Its super real in 2013, which is why everyone should be getting "Higher" ... of course I mean this ill track by Just Blaze and Baauer.   The traptastic anthem steps into the echelon of party music from its opening drops with vocal samples courtesy of Hova himself - Jay-Z.  These two hot producers made sure underground clubs and dance floors will in fact be rocking with the best on their fiercely bass heavy track.   If there was a dictionary that used songs rather than words for definitions - you'd find this under the entry "turnt up" - its just that filthy.

Check it out and get your January playlists bumping hard.

Tonight in L.A. (December 21, 2012)

Close the books, clear the e-mail, say your holiday goodbyes, make that final phone call...and then run through this list of concerts to pick your last live entertainment of the year.

Funk heads get a treat from The Meters' Leo Nocentelli at The Mint, or can go for something a bit more raw at The Central SAPC with Chali 2na and The House of Vibe All-Stars.

Fans of the guitar can enjoy Jon Brion's final Largo show of the year, another installment of the legendary Camp Freddy at The Roxy or a sold out Black Rebel Motorcycle Club throwdown at Troubadour.

If you want some filthy filthy beats - look no further than Dillon Francis at El Rey Theatre with Kill Paris and Paul Devro.  But, if you can't get into that - AraabMUZIK with Baauer, The Killabits and Bird Peterson at Avalon is definitely not a bad substitute.
