Come Away with Me

Happy Sunday and welcome back.

Ahhhh! - Now it's Summer time and soon time for my annual Summer vacation. Something we treasure highly in my family as everyday can sometimes be a bit harsh due to all our challenges. So this time, once a year, we throw all our cares away, get on a plane and fly down south and this year we'll be visiting Mallorca - the largest of the Balearic Islands, Spain. We've been there before but we do love this island, so we decided to go back.

The only thing I don't look forward to is 14 days without my crafting…...YIKES! Gotta smuggle something with me so I don't go mad (Ehm....more mad)

Ok so with this in mind, I decided to make something with a travel theme and my eyes landed on the gorgeous Round Traveling Case from SVGAttic's JGW Fashionably French kit. I've seen many versions of it made the last couple of months and wanted to make my own - and here it is:

I used AC Cardstock in Vanilla, Chestnut and Coffee along with the delightful Graphic 45 paper "Come Away with Me" collection that seems just right for this project.

I also used some Cricut Faux Leather for the strap, metal colored dots as nail heads and a ball chain to hold the tag and a tiny metal key.

Then I dived into my huge stash of Prima flowers and found some that matched the paper real well along with a rhinestone swirl. Finally I also found some glass cabochons to decorate with.

Such a fun project to make and the suitcase goes together so easy but looks so amazing - don't you think? Tell me in a comment.

Thanks for stopping by today - I really hope you like my version of the suitcase.

Design Your Own Travel Case

With summer slowing down and the kids heading back to school, now is a perfect time to go through all those photos,  keepsakes, post cards, tags and memorabilia from you travels.

Tracy here from the Idea Closet. I love to scrapbook my photos in either mini albums or digital albums but what to do with all those keepsakes that you collected?  How about a Travel Case?

SVG Attic has the perfect solution.

JGW Fashionably French

The JGW Fashionably French collection has this adorable Round Travel Case.

I have to admit, this is one of my favorite files and I have made this project many, many times.  I love how versatile it is. You can change the theme of your case just by changing the colors and paper you use.

For this case I used paper from Authenique and went with a more 70's look.
In fact when I was working on it, I was reminded of my parents old station wagon with the wood grain sides (did I just age myself?)

The file comes with lots of extras but because the paper I used was so busy I decided to omit most of them and keep it very simple.
I also deleted of all the little brad holes around the lid too, just because I really liked the look of the wood grain paper.

I used the tag but created my own little route 66 sign to add to it.

Another fun part of this design is the feet!

If you decide you want to make this case Jodi has very detailed, step by step instructions here.

Here is one more look at the front.
I hope you will give this project a try.

Bon Voyage

Summer months makes me want to travel! Hello all, I-team Sonja here with a Bon Voyage suitcase from the JGW Fashionably French set.
JGW Fashionably French
For my suitcase, I decided on DCWV's 'Preserved Flowers' stack for a soft white, cream, and tan effect.
Then I decided that I needed to use some Tim Holtz accent pieces because, well I couldn't not use them!
Adding the metal hinges, lock and key, as well as the bird and flowers just brings an extra element of texture which I am all about!

Wonderful Winter with Lisa

Hi and welcome, everyone!
Lisa from The Relativity of Paper
sharing a Winter project featuring the Round Traveling Case, from JGW Fashionably French Collection, and elements from the JGW Winter Wonderland Wreath.

My inspiration for this project is pulled from my Mom's Christmas Tree. We use lots of blues and silver on a white tree, and it honestly feels like Winter. I will be creating a display for her coffee table using these pieces, ornaments, snowflakes, and fairy lights for her Christmas Party.

The sentiment is from the JGW Winter Wonderland, and I used Marvy Snow Marker to add texture and dimension.

The skates are amazing and remind me of the movie Ice Castles. Do you remember that movie? I'm aging myself with this.

As always, thanks for joining us!

Once Upon a Time...

Well, I have to say my husband and I have failed. I-Team member Sonja here with my latest 3D creation.

When we found out we were having a girl, we worked really really really hard to not get anything that said princess, represented a princess, or decorate anything princessy.

Fast forward four years and our daughter one morning tells her dad "Call me Princess" when he called her by her name.

This set was inspired by her need to be called Princess and her fourth birthday!

All girls were born with little crowns right?!

First I made the castle card.
 But why stop there?
A crown and a slipper were a must

And every castle needs a horse drawn carriage

Purse Birthday Invites

Hello SVG Atticers. DT Sonja here to bring you a cute set of birthday invites I was asked to make. These were for a little girl turning 6. They were going to have a spa party, dinner, and sleepover.
What little girl does not love a purse?!

When I got this order, I knew right away I wanted to use SVG Attic's Parisian Purse from the Fashionably French set.
The customer was very happy and excited for her daughter to see them.

Set Sail with Lisa

Hi and welcome, everyone! Lisa from In The Crafting Cave sharing with you today. With Mother's Day and Summer upon us, I wanted to share a fun take on the JGW Fashionably French High Heel Shoe and Purse Gift Card Holder.  Every girl needs a great pair of shoes and handbag to set sail, right?

This is a picture of a paper High Heel and Purse Gift Card Set by SVG Attic
DCWV Seaside Yacht 12 x 12 Paper Pad
I just love the navy and cream floral pattern for this high heel, so couture!

Using the blue and cream polka dot paper in the shoe and purse pulls this set together.

So using DCWV Seaside Yacht 12 x 12 Paper Pad, Cream Cardstock, adhesive, and silver brads these items are super easy to make. And the great thing about them you can use any papers you have to create your very own Couture Fashion Line.

You can find all the details on my blog, In The Crafting Cave.

have a great weekend!

Travel Case for a magical vacation

Tracy here from the Idea Closet and I am so excited to share my new project with you.

Next month we are doing a family vacation to the happiest place on earth, so in honor of that trip I created a travel case that is perfect for gathering all our little paper keepsakes: tickets, maps, etc.

To create this case I started with the  Round Traveling Case from the

JGW Fashionably French

To decorate the front of the case I used the film frames and tickets from the
CG Box Cards Kit- the Movie Box Card.

CG Box Cards

I also added some flowers and created the heads using basic circle shapes.

Here are some close ups of the details on the case.

This is such a fun project and can be used in so many ways. I hope you will give it a try.

Travel Time ~ with Cyndy G.

Hello, happy Friday!  Here in the South we are starting to see spring in full bloom and everything looks beautiful!  We have had a few cold days but we know the warm weather is right around the corner and you can see it everywhere you look.

All this warm weather gets me thinking about taking a vacation!  One of our favorite places to visit is Charleston, SC.  It has beautiful Southern Charm.  So this brings me to today's project.  I decided to make the round travel case from JGW Fashionably French.  This is a favorite of mine.

Travel case

I used Authentique Classique Beauty and it is beautiful!

Travel case

One of the things that makes this a favorite of mine is all the little detail.  The brads or eyelets around the edge of the lid, down to the little "feet" on the case.  It also a nice size so you can use it as a gift box and it's not too hard to put together.  It has straight edges.  This gives you more guidance than a circle (I think).  If you haven't tried this one, you should I think you will like it as much as I do.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  Thank you for stopping by.

Do what inspires you,
Cyndy G.
