He rights the outlaw wrongs on Mars

My studiomate Dustin Weaver introduced me to The Thrilling Adventure Hour podcast last week. It is "a staged production in the style of old-time radio" and it is absolutely hilarious. There are a lot of great segments on the show, but Sparks Nevada, Marshal on Mars is by far my favorite. I overcame my podcast ineptitude to download and listen to everything currently available. Naturally, here is some fan art:

There are several hours' worth of material available on iTunes. Go! Listen! And people have made some pretty awesome art for the show that you should check out.

Who am I to disagree?

Here's the mp3 file for the interview with 89.9 FM Portland, All Classical about Comic Artist Night at the Opera. Patrick posted on my Facebook page last night that it may have been cut from the program. I was not around a radio yesterday so I can neither confirm nor deny that it aired.

Tell me what you want from me

Hey! I'm going to be on the radio tomorrow! :D

94.7 fm is a Portland radio station. They play a different listener's 5-song 'Perfect Playlist' every weekday at 5pm. Mine will play tomorrow, and I will be in the station to talk with DJ Gustav between songs. I am very, very excited! If you want to listen but are outside of broadcasting range, you can listen online here! :)

If you are curious about what I've been up to in these seemingly quiet months, you'll want to tune in! Or, you know, if you are just curious what my 5-song perfect playlist is. :P (Hint: IT'S ALL HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL SONGS. ALL OF IT.)

Edit: Here's my playlist :)
  1. Garbage “Tell Me Where It Hurts”
  2. Fastball “Drifting Away”
  3. Jet “She’s A Genius”
  4. Cake “Let Me Go”
  5. Ben Folds “Video Killed The Radio Star”

And these wars, they can never be won

Hey all! I'm back from Comic-Con, and there will be a series of posts all about that, but for now I have a music-related post:

I just heard 'United States of Eurasia' off of Muse's upcoming album ('The Resistance'), and it is fantastic. I love this band so much, it's a thrill to hear some new music from them. They may go a little heavy on the Queen around 1:24, but I am excited for the promised new influences on this album, whatever they may be.
Have a taste (video is fan-made):

In other news, Portland's own 94.7 fm has a program called Perfect Playlist every workday at 5pm, where a single listener gets to cue up their personal playlist of 5 songs, and has the option to come to the station and talk to the host, Gustav, between songs. I sent mine in last week, and got a reply saying that mine may go on the air sometime soon! I would be so excited. Anyway, if that happens I'll definitely link you to their site, where you can stream the program. :)
