Haredi hoodlums in Bnei Brak attack IDF officers

Another example of how, even more than a year after the horrifying incident of October 7, 2023, there's still nasty ultra-Orthodox clans who're inciting against IDF personnel, doing things that they'd doubtless never do to Islamists:
A senior Israel Defense Forces officer responsible for advancing the draft of ultra-Orthodox soldiers to the military was attacked by a mob of Haredi men in Bnei Brak Thursday night.

Maj. Gen. David Zini, head of the Training Command and General Staff Corps and the “project manager” for drafting Haredi soldiers, was eating at a restaurant in Bnei Brak with one of his aides, a major, when dozens of Haredi men ganged up on the two officers, shouting “murderers” as they chased them through the streets of the ultra-Orthodox city, just east of Tel Aviv.

Police said that the two officers were rescued from the angry crowd and three suspects were arrested.

The suspects, aged 29, 24 and 19, will be brought to court
later Friday.

Zini was attacked by a Haredi mob in Bnei Brak in July too, when he was in the central city following a meeting with Rabbi David Leybel, a proponent of programs that support members of the ultra-Orthodox community entering the workforce. [...]

The protesters on Thursday were affiliated with the Jerusalem Faction, an extremist ultra-Orthodox group numbering some 60,000 members that is considered among the most hardline opponents of efforts to extend enlistment requirements to yeshiva students and other Haredi men. The group has become known for periodically organizing large protests against the IDF in recent years.

Hours before the mob attacked the officers in Bnei Brak, members of the same extremist faction blocked traffic along a major highway nearby to demonstrate against intensifying efforts to conscript Haredi men into the military.
Those members of that extremist clan should be forced into army service and to fight in Gaza themselves, but you'd be correct if concerned the hoodlums could also attack innocent Israelis if given weapons. Maybe what they should be forced to do is serve in a medical unit. For now, they should be imprisoned and fined heavily for their crimes.

Justin Trudeau resigns as Canada's premier

Finally, after nearly a dozen years of disastrous policies in Canada, prime minister Trudeau has resigned his undeserved position:
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation on Monday, saying he intends to step down from the top job and as the leader of Canada’s ruling Liberal Party once a new party leader is chosen.

“I intend to resign as party leader, as prime minister, after the party selects its new leader,” the 53-year-old leader told reporters at a news conference in Ottawa on Monday.

Canada’s parliament will be suspended until March 24 while a new Liberal Party leader is chosen, he also said.

Trudeau added that he has “one regret” – failing to reform Canada’s election process, ahead of a general election expected this fall.

“If I have one regret, particularly as we approach this election — well, probably many regrets that I will think of,” the outgoing leader said. “But I do wish we’d been able to change the way we elect our governments in this country so that people could simply choose a second choice, or a third choice on the same ballot.”
And what would those choices be? Maybe an Islamic caliphate, like what all the Moslem immigration to the country could one day lead to? Not to mention the horrific transsexual pandering that's ruined the great white north too? I once discovered Trudeau's father Pierre was a communist sympathiser, and that kind of kowtowing is equally harmful, and did no favors for Canada's reputation.

Trudeau won't be missed as a premier, and it's to be hoped a better government will be elected when the time comes. And if it's Pierre Poliviere, it's to be hoped he'll prove a far better, more responsible leader. Someone has to put a halt to the horrible antisemitism and misogyny that's now plauging Canada.

Update: here's an op-ed about how bad Canada became for Jews and others under Trudeau.

What Trump can do to stop the ICC

Reelected POTUS Donald Trump intends to impose special sanctions upon the ICC in response to the offensive actions they're taking against Israelis and others opposed to Islamic terrorism:
The sanctions package will target both individual ICC personnel, including judges and prosecutors, and the institution as a whole. The administration intends to classify the ICC as an organization threatening US interests, employing designation procedures similar to those used by the US State Department for terrorist organizations globally. This designation will trigger severe restrictions on anyone involved with the court's operations.

Financial institutions worldwide will be required to terminate relationships with ICC personnel or face US sanctions themselves. Mirroring actions taken against sanctioned Israeli citizens by the outgoing administration, ICC staff will find themselves unable to perform routine banking operations or use credit cards. Their economic activities will be effectively frozen, with exceptions only for essential needs such as food purchases. Furthermore, all US-based assets belonging to ICC employees and the institution will be frozen.

The incoming administration's strategy extends beyond unilateral actions, as it plans to secure commitments from US allies to reject cooperation with arrest warrants targeting Israeli officials.
Based on what the ICC is like today, it would be for the best if it went out of business altogether. A new court could be formed to replace it too, if anybody thought it workable. Trump's got an excellent position on how to deal with the corrupt ICC.

New tyrants in Syria add anti-Semitism and anti-Christian sentiment to educational curriculum

This is no shock at all when one considers what these "rebels" are really like:
Syria’s newly formed government is under fire following the announcement of proposed changes to the school curriculum. Critics have voiced concerns that the amendments, which some perceive as introducing an Islamist bias, could reshape the country’s educational framework, CNN reported Thursday.

Details of the changes were posted on the education ministry’s official Facebook page, according to the report.

Among the modifications are alterations to certain phrases: “path of goodness” has been replaced with “Islamic path,” and the phrase “those who are damned and have gone astray” now explicitly refers to “Jews and Christians,” reflecting a strict interpretation of a Quranic verse.

Additionally, the definition of “martyr” has shifted from someone who died for their homeland to someone who sacrificed their life “for the sake of God.” Entire chapters, such as one on “the origins and evolution of life,” have been removed altogether.

Although it is unclear whether these changes have been implemented, they are intended to affect students aged 6 to 18, according to CNN.

[...] HTS leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, now Syria’s de facto leader. has recently emphasized efforts to dissociate the group from its Al-Qaeda roots, promoting a vision of a government centered on tolerance and inclusivity. At the same time, he also recently said that the new Syrian regime will operate according to Sharia law.
In that case, they haven't distanced themselves from al Qaeda so much as they have employed taqqiya. So it's clear this is no more than a sad case of one tyrant being replaced by another. Exactly why the regime as it stands now in Syria can't be recognized as valid.

NYC allows march supporting intifada

Just a short time after the terrorist attack in New Orleans, a march by Islamic terror supporters took place in New York City at Times Square, calling for another intifada (via Breitbart):
Several hundred demonstrators called for an intifada on Wednesday at an anti-Israel protest in New York City’s Times Square to mark New Year’s Day.

Attendees chanted “Resistance is glorious — we will be victorious,” “We will honor all our martyrs,” and “Gaza, you make us proud.” They carried signs that said “Zionism is cancer,” “No war on Iran,” and “End all US aid to Israel.”

“There is only one solution — Intifada revolution,” they chanted, using a common refrain at anti-Israel rallies in the US. “Intifada,” Arabic for “uprising,” is associated with the Second Intifada, a period of terror attacks in Israel in the early 2000s marked by suicide bombings.

Speakers at the Wednesday rally urged attendees to recommit to anti-Israel activism in the new year.

“2024 was a year of struggle against the crime of Zionism,” a speaker told the crowd. “We will be here every single year for generation after generation until total liberation and return.” [...]

A handful of pro-Israel counter-protesters showed up to wave Israeli and American flags on the sidelines of the demonstration, while heckling the anti-Israel activists. A Jewish retiree led chants of “Get a job” directed at the protesters.

Arguments broke out between the two sides situated on opposite sides of a metal barrier. One anti-Israel protester shouted “Hamas,” “Go back to Europe” and “You’re all white people” at the pro-Israel demonstrators, and hurled racist slurs at a Black member of the pro-Israel group.
NYC, as it's been in the last decade or so, has really sunk to new lows if they allow this, which amounts to little more than exploitation of "free speech rights" as an excuse to espouse pro-violence slogans. All the officials in charge of the Big Apple have done is let their city become infested with vermin, much like Europe itself. This will have tragic consequences in the future.

Jimmy Carter passes away at 100

One of the worst presidents in USA history has passed away at the age of a century:
Former US President Jimmy Carter passed away on Sunday at the age of 100.

Carter’s son, Chip, said his father died in his home in Plains, Georgia. The former president entered home hospice care in February of 2023 after a series of short hospital stays.

He was the first US President to reach his 100th birthday.

Carter served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. During his one term in office, he facilitated the 1979 peace agreement between Israel and Egypt, the first peace agreement signed between Israel and an Arab country.

In recent years, Carter had made controversial statements related to Israel. In 2013, he called on the European Union (EU) to label products coming from "illegal Israeli settlements".

In May of 2014, the former President supported the Palestine Liberation Organization's (PLO) unilateral push to join international organizations in breach of the ongoing peace talks with Israel.

In 2015, Carter painted a bleak picture of the prospects for peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) while placing the blame for the deadlock on Israel.

“At this moment, there is zero chance of the two-state solution. These are the worst prospects for peace between Israel and the Palestinians for years,” he said at the time, and then proceeded to say he didn’t think that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu “has any intention” of making progress towards the goal.

“The Netanyahu government decided early on to adopt a one-state solution, but without giving them [the Palestinians] equal rights,” he charged.

Rosalynn Carter, Jimmy Carter’s wife of 77 years, died in November 2023. They are survived by their children Amy, Chip, Jack and Jeff, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
This is all stuff that the MSM won't look over objectively, and as noted here, the MSM's gone out of their way to rewrite history in his favor. Carter, alas, was a huge embarrassment, and did nothing positive for Israel, as the above news indicates.

Update: Daniel Greenfield has more.

Update 2: a contributor to CNN, of all places, was willing to admit Carter was an awful president.

Walmart just proved again something's terribly wrong with their conduct

I once discovered Walmart was selling neo-Nazi t-shirts many years ago, and that was disgusting. Now, this year, it turns out they didn't change much over time, as they recently allowed sales of t-shirts glorifying Hamas and Hezbollah, and thankfully, those abominations were removed (via Jihad Watch):
US retail giant Walmart has apparently removed at least four shirts it offered for sale online that featured pictures of slain terror chiefs Yahya Sinwar and Hassan Nasrallah, after the garments were slammed as “outrageous” by an antisemitism watchdog.

One of the shirts showed former Hamas leader Sinwar’s face and his name broken into “Sin” and “war,” while another featured a doctored caricature of the terror mastermind firing a weapon while in combat gear.

Killed by Israeli troops in the Gaza Strip in October, Sinwar led the Palestinian terror group in Gaza from 2017 until his death. He masterminded the October 7, 2023, invasion and massacre in southern Israel, in which thousands of Hamas-led terrorists killed some 1,200 people and kidnapped 251, sparking the ongoing war in Gaza.

The shirts were flagged by US-based watchdog Stop Antisemitism, which wrote in a post on X early Tuesday that “Walmart shoppers were horrified to find shirts glorifying Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar while online shopping.”

“Walmart, are you aware you’re selling apparel celebrating terrorism and violence against Jews?” the post continued, calling for the items to be removed immediately.

A third Sinwar shirt which featured a graphic of Sinwar above the word “RESIST” in the style of former US president Barack Obama’s “HOPE” campaign, also appeared to have been taken down between Tuesday and Wednesday, though the image still appears in online searches.

A shirt featuring a low-resolution picture of Hezbollah leader Nasrallah, who was assassinated by Israel in a Beirut airstrike, had also been removed by Wednesday morning.
So again, Walmart's proven they're bottom of the barrel, morally or otherwise, for a commercial sales deparment store chain. Why must anyone continue to buy from them? They don't need any sensible person's money.

But this does also raise the question of whether t-shirts should be developed starring heroic figures from history. Perhaps that's something pro-Israel advocates should emphasize in reaction to this atrocity, and try to encourage admiration for more positive examples?

Rabbinical movements deciding whether to ban converts who participate in anti-Israel demonstrations

It's bizarre enough, to be sure, when people who supposedly follow Judaist customs want to convert wholesale, but that's the situation in the USA, if anywhere, and there's rabbinical courts who're now deciding to reject any who side with anti-Israel movements:
Leading rabbis in the United States and Israel are contemplating whether to prohibit Jewish conversion for individuals who have participated in anti-Israel demonstrations. In recent months, multiple rabbis, primarily in the US, have grappled with the issue of converting individuals who display clear anti-Israel sentiments yet seek to join the Jewish faith, forcing them to decide whether this constitutes a deal-breaker. While no actual ban has been implemented on any specific protester to date, such a decision appears to be imminent.

Rabbi Elchanan Poupko, a prominent young rabbi in the United States, has delved deeply into this question. He recently approached both chief rabbis, Rabbi Kalman Ber and Rabbi David Yosef, with this inquiry. Simultaneously, he consulted several well-known rabbis in Israel, with Rabbi David Stav explicitly ruling that such individuals should not be converted.

"In the past year, a renewed wave of hatred toward Israel has swept the world,"
Rabbi Poupko wrote to the chief rabbis. He noted that these individuals are effectively Israel-haters, even though they "claim they don't hate Israel and that all their talk stems from compassion for the Palestinian people and their desire to help them." These protesters "demonstrate in front of synagogues, study halls, and Jewish schools, harass Israelis, assault them, and engage in various other forms of persecution, as well as write about Israel as if they were evil murderers, blood libels similar to what Israel-haters did in previous generations."

Rabbi Poupko mentioned that at least one rabbinical court in the US encountered a case where an individual who participated in anti-Israel protests sought conversion, raising questions about the process.

"While they accepted the commandments to live as an observant Jew, and the court found no fault in their observance of Sabbath, kosher laws, and so forth, they discovered the individual had participated in pro-Palestinian demonstrations and questioned whether this fact diminishes the acceptance of this person as a convert," he wrote.

The reason, according to him, is that since this person actively harms Jews, they distance themselves from Judaism, even if they are willing to accept the religious laws. "By choosing to participate with Israel's enemies against the majority of the Jewish people who live in the Land of Israel, even though they said 'your God is my God,' it is nevertheless inconceivable to convert them."
A vital point can also be made that if the alleged converts see nothing wrong with barbarism as embodied by Islam, that's another reason to shun them, since it contradicts Judaism's values entirely, right down to the 10 Commandments' opposition to murder. To be sure, these specific individuals are likely trying to convert in order to destroy the Judaist religion from within, and that's why they're dangerous. If they don't abandon support for blood libel propaganda against Israel along with acceptance of barbarism and sexual violence, they cannot be accepted as converts.
Rabbi Poupko, who has dealt extensively with this issue, wrote an article on the subject that is expected to be published in the Techumin journal. In the article, he noted, "There is no doubt that the rabbinical court has been given authority to accept or reject the convert based on their understanding of the worldview and commandments that the convert accepts upon themselves, and to what extent they believe they will continue on the path of Torah and commandments after conversion." Therefore, "Since this convert who demonstrates against Israel comes before a more general rabbinical court, the court can tell them that their worldview is not their worldview... they can and must tell them that they cannot accept them."

In such a case, he suggested, that convert is invited to go to a rabbinical court of ultra-Orthodox groups that oppose Israel, such as Satmar or Neturei Karta, and they will make the decision. "It's impossible to accept both positions. They cannot follow the conditions of Jewish law and customs of the Satmar Hasidic movement while also opposing the Jewish people's residence in their land."
It looks like he may have made a slight goof there, since the Satmar - and especially Neturei Karta - would be more than delighted to recruit people with views hostile to Israel. Come to think of it, it wouldn't be shocking if some women who're anti-Israel would have no issue with customs like shaving the hair off their heads and relying on wigs instead, and they'd probably see it coinciding perfectly with recent woke mentalities on the left like taking up an uglified body. In which case, one could say they deserve each other.

Anyway, when it comes to converts who do recognize why barbarism is wrong, the rabbinical courts would do well to make the Judaist religion look welcome in the sense that women should not have to dress modestly, and can seek careers in fashion modeling, dance, music singing and stuff like that without acting like it's inherently wrong. After all, if anybody wishes to let women know they respect their femininity, the above point is an important one for how to do so. Orthodox Judaists would do well to remember that.

If the dress honors femininity and makes a woman proud, even religious Israelis shouldn't object

According to this news, the publishers of Evie have developed some women's dresses through a fashion affiliate of theirs that are something even religious Israeli women should consider:
A women’s magazine is going viral after introducing a new line of provocative dresses. While everyone is allowed to express their opinions, conservatives are missing the point.

Our culture is starved of beautiful things. Everything women are sold to wear is either casual clothes or made to make women appear more masculine
. From oversized sweaters and pants to yoga leggings and matching sweatsuits, femininity is left out of the equation when designers craft our wardrobes.

Enter Evie Magazine. Evie has never claimed to be a conservative magazine. For goodness sake, its website boasts sex and relationship tips. However, it wants to be a magazine where women can find beauty and reconnect with their feminine style. Between the posts about the harms of birth control, marital advice and sweet Christmas traditions, they started a dress line with their brand Sundress.co.
Well it's definitely something feminine, and that's the point many alleged conservatives missed for ages. All these years, would-be conservatives went hysterical over stuff that's supposed to emphasize a woman's femininity, and is far from "porn" as the hystericals claim. In Israel, there's Haredis and their bleeding-heart supporters who've made things worse when they attack admirable outfits like these, and they have to stop this at once, because all it's done is give leftists ammunition to use against right-wingers in Israel and elsewhere. Of course, even leftists here have abandoned whatever respect they supposedly had for femininity (when they see nothing wrong with the Islamic niqab, that should make clear where they really stand), and any right-winger who doesn't want to give Judaism a bad name should embrace what Sundress is offering too. I'll definitely defend this dress on this side of the Atlantic. So congratulations to Evie and Sundress for designing these dresses. They're something Israeli women - including religious women - should wear too, for many reasons.

Anti-Israeli terrorism in Canada continues

Canada's authorities continue failing to keep the environment safe for Jews or anybody else (via Breitbart):
Prayer services at Congregation Beth Tikvah were held outdoors Wednesday morning, as the synagogue entrance was taped off after a crude firebomb was thrown through a window overnight.

It’s the second time the building has been attacked in 14 months. The synagogue was the target of a Molotov cocktail in November 2023, one month before Hanukkah. Wednesday’s attack took place one week before the Jewish holiday.[...]

During an inspection at 7:20 a.m., police discovered two windows were smashed in the Federation CJA building [housing local Jewish institutions] across the street. No incendiary objects were found at that location.
Justin Trudeau's condemnations are not enough, and this only marks another example of one of his many failures to protect any innocents in Canada.

Le Monde's management is clogged with anti-Israel sentiment

An investigation by Le Figaro reveals Le Monde, a newspaper which may practically be owned by political sources in France, has a very horrific level of antisemitism going on in their ranks:
In an unprecedented exposé, Le Figaro has published damaging revelations about antisemitic content and Hamas support within Le Monde's newsroom, one of France's largest and most influential newspapers.

In a lengthy and pointed investigation, Le Figaro, the center-right competitor, took the unusual step of revealing internal details from Le Monde's newsroom, including photographs showing content that staff members are exposed to, reflecting what it describes as political activism promoting an anti-Israel agenda.

In one corner of the new editorial office near the Austerlitz station in central Paris, employees have created a large wall of propaganda pieces and illustrations focused solely on the war in Gaza, rather than French politics or global issues like climate change. The wall, dubbed the "Gaza Wall," features cartoons with accusations of genocide in Gaza and lists of alleged massacres that Israel or Jews supposedly committed before the state's establishment.
There may be some employees at Le Monde who find this chilling, but they're scared to speak publicly about it. This is no shock, but it does make clear anybody in France who understands how this not only causes serious harm, but also takes away attention from the more serious issues of Islamofascism destroying France, has got to stop paying money for such a bottom of the barrel newspaper. And advertising should be withdrawn from their pages too. There's got to be quite a few far-left newspapers and such in France worth boycotting now, and the time's come to do so.

Israel's Irish embassy will be closed

Because of the horrific antisemitism in Ireland, the Israeli embassy will be shuttered:
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar ordered the closure of Israel's embassy in Ireland today, marking a significant downturn in bilateral relations while announcing plans to establish a new diplomatic presence in Moldova.

The decision to shutter the Dublin mission comes in response to what Sa'ar characterized as the Irish government's "extreme anti-Israel policies." The diplomatic relationship had already been strained after Ireland's unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state, which prompted Israel to recall its ambassador. Tensions escalated further last week when Ireland announced it would join South Africa's case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, which accuses Israel of genocide.

"Ireland's antisemitic actions and rhetoric against Israel are rooted in delegitimization and demonization of the Jewish state and reflect clear double standards,"
Sa'ar said. "Ireland has crossed all red lines in its treatment of Israel. We will redirect our resources toward advancing bilateral relations with countries based on priorities that reflect how different nations relate to Israel."

In contrast, Israel's relationship with Moldova is warm and cooperative, with both countries eager to deepen their diplomatic ties. Moldova already maintains an embassy in Israel, and Sa'ar informed Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi of his decision to establish an Israeli embassy in Chișinău, planned for early 2025. The foreign minister has directed his ministry's director general to secure appropriate premises and initiate the process of appointing an ambassador.
The Irish government's representatives show no sign so far of remorse for their offensive conduct:
Ireland’s Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Simon Harris reacted, “This is a deeply regrettable decision from the Netanyahu government. I utterly reject the assertion that Ireland is anti-Israel. Ireland is pro-peace, pro-human rights and pro-International law.”

Despite Harris’ protestations that Ireland’s government is not anti-Israel, the evidence suggests otherwise.

In February 2024, then-Taoiseach Leo Varadkar denounced a possible Israeli operation into the Hamas stronghold in Rafah, saying it would be a “gross violation of international law on top of all the other violations of international law which Israel is responsible for.” He continued by ripping Israel for not bowing to the wishes of outsiders, saying, “It’s very, very clear to me though, that Israel is not listening to any country in the world, I don’t even think they’re listening to the Americans anymore. They have become blinded by rage.”

In May 2024, only days after Harris declared, “I abhor the actions of the Netanyahu government regarding what is happening in the Middle East,” Ireland officially recognized a “Palestinian state.” Harris stated, “The government recognizes Palestine as a sovereign and independent state and agreed to establish full diplomatic relations between Dublin and Ramallah. We had wanted to recognize Palestine at the end of a peace process. However, we have made this move alongside Spain and Norway to keep the miracle of peace alive.”

On November 7, the Irish parliament passed a non-binding motion attacking Israel, stating, “genocide is being perpetrated before our eyes by Israel in Gaza.”

Last week, Ireland joined South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Looking into the past, in 1996, Ireland finally permitted an Israeli embassy in its country; it was the last country in the European Union to open an Israeli embassy in its own country.

As far back as 1945, within days of Adolf Hitler’s suicide on April 30, 1945, Ireland’s Taoiseach Éamon de Valera called on Eduard Hempel, the Nazi minister to Ireland, to express his condolences.” He said, “I certainly was not going to add to his [Hempel’s] humiliation in the hour of defeat.”
This is some of the most embarrassing and repulsive problems with Ireland for decades already. Making matters worse is how the Irish government allows Islamofascists to effectively destroy the country and its safety, and any citizens who supposedly oppose the Religion of Peace's destruction of the island yet consider hostility to Israel acceptable aren't helping matters. Closing the embassy there can save a lot of valuable money, which the relations with Moldova will hopefully be worth investing in.

Geert Wilders warns that if Israel falls, the west will follow

Geert Wilders visited Israel's Knesset this week, and warns what could be the fate of the globe if Israel falls to Islam:
Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana awarded the Jabotinsky Prize for Liberty to Dutch MP Geert Wilders this week as the Party for Freedom (PVV) leader toured Israel, where he held diplomatic meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, and members of the Israeli cabinet.

“This award is a fitting tribute to a man who, for so long, embodied Jabotinsky’s courage and conviction. He has confronted the lies propagated by institutions like the ICC [International Criminal Court], which distort justice and reward terror. In America, we are seeing President Trump assemble a dream team. Geert brings that same optimism to Europe, where it is needed even more,” Speaker Ohana said of the main power behind the government of The Netherlands.

Wilders, a leading critic of radical Islam, has long been a staunch supporter of the Jewish state, having volunteered for a year in the West Bank during his youth. During his diplomatic mission to the country this week, Wilders continued to advocate for Israel’s rightful control of the West Bank, describing the Jordan Valley settlements in Judea and Samaria as Israel’s “bulletproof vest” without which it would cease to exist as a country.

Upon receiving the award from the Knesset, Wilders said: “This is not the time to be silent, but to stand up and support Israel. After the October 7, 2023 massacre, where 1,200 innocent Jewish lives were lost, the world was shocked, but as so often, unfortunately, only for a short time, after which too many countries, politicians and institutions like the UN and the ICC started bashing Israel for rightfully defending itself and its people against an existential threat.”

Wilders said that his mission to Israel was intended to show his “full and never-ending support” against the “evil powers” of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The PVV leader lamented that alongside the hatred of Jews by radical Islamists, the anti-Israel sentiment is being driven by the “self-hatred of woke Westerners who no longer believe in fighting for the truth.”

The Dutch populist reiterated his warning that should Israel fall in its battle, the “West will be next” and therefore wished to demonstrate by his journey to Israel that there are still “political leaders in Europe that are not afraid to come here and say out loud, here and in Europe, very clear, that we will never, ever abandon you and we’ll be always at your side.”
With or without Donald Trump, however, the battle against the Religion of Peace must continue, and it's good Wilders is a realist. And since the Netherlands is a subject here, there's also news about a Muslim woman sentenced to a decade in prison for enslaving a Yazidi woman (via Jihad Watch):
A Dutch court Wednesday sentenced a woman to 10 years in prison for keeping a woman from the Yazidi minority as a slave after joining the Islamic State group in Syria.

The court in The Hague convicted the 33-year-old from Hengelo in eastern Netherlands, identified as Hasna A, for “enslavement, membership of a terrorist organization, promoting terrorist crimes, and endangering her young son.”

She traveled to Syria in 2015 with her son, aged four at the time, the court said. She married an IS fighter and had children with him.

Between May to October 2015, she lived with another IS fighter, who kept a Yazidi woman as a slave.

Hasna A. made the Yazidi woman do household chores for her and look after her son
, the court ruled. [...]

According to public broadcaster NOS, Hasna A was repatriated in November 2022 to the Netherlands from a Syrian prison camp with 11 other Dutch women and their 28 children.
After she's out of prison, they'd do well to exile her altogether, and if she needs to be banished to Syria again, so be it. There's plenty of other jihadists in Europe who could be sent to a hellhole like that, among several other Muslim areas. And all that aside, Israelis shouldn't hesitate to voice their support and defense of any Europeans who're realists.

Muslim jihadist in Judea murders 12 year old boy

A terrible tragedy befell a youngster who was murdered in a jihadist attack on a bus (via Jihad Watch):
A young boy was fatally shot and several people were wounded in a terror attack targeting a Jerusalem-bound bus in the West Bank late Wednesday night.

The 12-year-old child was brought in critical condition to Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem in nearby Jerusalem, where doctors declared his death early Thursday following intensive efforts to save him
.

He was later named as Yehoshua Aharon Tuvia Simha of the Beitar Illit settlement — from where the bus had departed.

Three others were hurt in the shooting: a woman who suffered moderate wounds and two other people who were lightly hurt.

The bus was shot up by the gunman at a junction by the Palestinian town of al-Khader, the Israel Defense Forces said, before proceeding with the wounded to the Tunnels Checkpoint.

The Palestinian terrorist turned himself in, Israeli defense authorities said on Thursday morning.

The IDF, Shin Bet, and police said he did so amid their “exertion of military pressure in the area” — including by encircling Bethlehem.

He was named as Ezz Aldin Malluh from the town of Bayt Awa near Hebron.

He initially tried to turn himself in at a Palestinian Authority police station in the area, where his weapon was taken from him but he was refused entry.

Contrary to some reports, authorities said, he was not afforded protection at any stage by the PA security forces
.

A video clip filmed shortly after the shooting showed passengers fleeing the bus after it arrived at the checkpoint, as security forces there rushed toward the vehicle amid the sound of gunfire. It was not clear from the footage where all the shots emanated from.

The attack came after three Israelis were lightly injured by gunfire the previous night while visiting Joseph’s Tomb in the Palestinian city of Nablus without coordinating with the military, and also followed a car-ramming attack in the southern West Bank over the weekend in which a soldier was seriously wounded.
It's clear the PLO did not want to prevent horrors like these from occurring, and the monster himself probably didn't care to turn himself in to their shock troopers.

Syria's Assad regime falls, but may not see positive replacement

One of Syria's worst dictatorships has fallen to other Islamists:
Reports from the Middle East indicate that the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad has fallen, with the dictator fleeing the country as rebel forces entered the capital city of Damascus.

Unconfirmed social media reports also suggest that Assad’s plane crashed.
The part about whether Assad's plane crashed appear to be inaccurate, unfortunately. But he has been deposed, and has fled to Russia.
The sudden collapse of the Assad regime, dating back over half a century to the rule of Hafez al-Assad, Bashar’s father, has rocked the Middle East and could mean the Iranian regime, a Syrian ally, is in danger.

Assad was one of the most notorious tyrants in the world, one who used chemical weapons against his own people. His regime nearly fell in the civil war that erupted during the Arab Spring in 2011, but he was shored up by Russian and Iranian forces.

President Vladimir Putin used Syria to restore Russia’s presence in the Middle East for the first time since the Cold War, while Iran used Syria as a conduit to Hezbollah in Lebanon, sending weapons and advisers.

Assad had bombed rebel-held cities with no regard for civilian life, and torturing suspected rebels and dissidents
. President Barack Obama drew a “red line” in 2012 when he said the U.S. would intervene militarily if Assad used chemical weapons, but then failed to act.

President Donald Trump launched airstrikes against the regime in 2017 after a chemical weapons attack, firing nearly 60 cruise missiles at Syrian air bases, which had the intended effect.

Trump reduced the U.S. troop presence in Syria, though small forces remained to counter threats from the so-called “Islamic State,” or ISIS, which still operated in the country. Turkey also had an interest in Syria, targeting Kurdish militias operating in Syrian territory.
While Trump's said the USA shouldn't intervene in what's going on now, these "rebels" appear intent on imposing Islamic sharia upon what's left of the Syrian piecemeal, and that's something that shouldn't be allowed to continue, any more than the Taliban's reimposition of sharia in Afghanistan. Other than that, it's understandable why some can't care less if these Islamofascists tear each other apart.

An interesting advantage for Israel is that the IDF was able to take over a buffer zone on the mountain between Israel and Syria:
On Friday, the IDF said that it had reinforced Israeli positions on the Golan Heights, the plateau seized by Israel from Syria during the Six-Day War of 1967. (Syrian forces had used the Heights to shell the Israeli villages below for years.)

On Sunday, Israel’s Army Radio reported that the IDF had moved tanks into the demilitarized zone between Syria and Israel, an area that is supposed to be free of any military presence under the disengagement agreement that ended the Yom Kippur War in 1973. In that war, Syria and Egypt conducted a surprise attack on Israel during the holiest day on the Jewish calendar; Syria nearly overran the Golan Heights before IDF reservists pushed it back.
It's seriously time to take back that area; Syria's never deserved it, nor any other area where Islam's had a foothold. For now, Assad won't be missed, but ultimately, even the terrorists now taking over Syria's remnants can't be allowed to maintain their reign of terror for long. As Reuters was actually willing to point out:
Western and Arab nations fear that the HTS-led rebel coalition may seek to replace Assad's regime with a hardline Islamist government, or one less able or inclined to prevent the resurgence of radical forces, three diplomats and three analysts told Reuters.

"There is strong fear inside and outside the region of the power vacuum that Assad's sudden collapse may cause," said Abdelaziz al-Sager, director of the Gulf Research Center, a think tank focused on the Middle East. He cited the civil wars that followed the toppling of Iraqi president Saddam Hussein in 2003 and Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.

One senior Western diplomat in the region, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Reuters that - with the rebel forces fragmented - there was no plan for how to rule Syria, a complex nation divided into various sects and ethnic groups, each with its own regional power base.

The senior diplomat expressed fears that lawlessness in Syria could allow the flourishing of extremist groups like Islamic State (IS), which in 2014 swept through large swathes of Syria and Iraq and established an Islamic Caliphate before it was driven out by a US-led coalition by 2019. [...]

So far, Washington had mostly thrown its support behind Syrian Kurdish groups, such as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), whose areas of control are in northeast Syria. These groups, however, are in conflict with one of the main victorious rebels factions, the Syrian National Army (SNA), backed by regional power broker, Turkey, which opposes Kurdish influence.
Any movement that supports the Religion of Peace cannot be upheld, that's for sure.

Update: a number of European countries are now suspending asylum applications from Syria, hopefully out of concern terrorists could infiltrate.

Australia's Labour government is an embarrassment

There was an arson attack by Hamas and jihad worshipers at a synagogue in Melbourne, and the Labour government led by Anthony Albanese has to shoulder some blame, based in part on their anti-Israeli positions:
Sky News Australia presenter Sharri Markson on Friday ripped Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese following the arson attack on the Adass Israel synagogue in Melbourne, decrying the Prime Minister’s lack of leadership in preventing such attacks from taking place.

“It's impossible to overstate how devastating, how truly heart-wrenching this is for the entire Jewish community today across the country and, in fact, across the world. A synagogue, a Jewish place of worship, was firebombed, was set alight in Australia in 2024. Just the thought of it brings tears to my eyes. How can Jews in our country not be safe going to a synagogue?”
said Markson, who is Jewish.

She then added, “It's not an isolated incident because just two days ago on Wednesday night, while I was going to air during my show, the great synagogue in Sydney was in lockdown because there were aggressive pro-Palestinian protests outside. We saw plans for another protest last week in Melbourne outside a synagogue.”

“There hasn't been enough political leadership to say, ‘You cannot protest outside a synagogue!’, and so when there were two Jews arrested just two days ago outside the great synagogue for holding the Israeli flag outside the great synagogue, yet none of the protesters were arrested. And why were they protesting outside a synagogue? They shouldn't have been allowed to protest outside a Jewish place of worship. What can their protest be against the Jewish people?...But when no action is taken, then one thing leads to another and you can see how a synagogue was then firebombed.”
This should also make clear not much has changed since 2 decades ago, when Muslims in Sydney rioted, and there were horrifying cases of Muslim gang rapes that took place at the time. Now, the government allows this kind of horror to occur as well, and if that's what they're going to enable, why must we believe they wouldn't allow sexual violence against non-Israeli women in Australia to occur again too? Albanese should resign. And any restrictions placed upon gun ownership in Australia that could help in self-defense are also a very bad thing.

IDF will provide all female army observers with weapons

In an effort to learn vital lessons from October 7, 2023, the IDF will be providing weapons to all female members for defense:
The IDF has decided based on the lessons of the October 7 Hamas attack that every female observer will now carry a personal Tabor-type firearm upon the completion of her training.

The army's decision, which will be implemented within a month and a half, comes in light of criticism that female observers were left defenseless in the face of the Hamas terrorists who broke into IDF bases on the day of the massacre, without any ability to protect themselves and their comrades because they did not have the weapons with which to do so.

In addition to the criticism about the failure to provide weapons to female soldiers, female observers have testified that they had repeatedly warned of unusual activity by Hamas terrorists before the massacre but their warnings went unheeded.
What's truly obscene about the conduct at the time is that it was quite possibly deliberate on the part of the military officials who led to the tragedy, and who're possibly leftists. What kind of monsters are allowed to take over control of the army if this is how they're going to act, and doom tons of innocent and defenseless people? It won't be enough to compensate their members with defense weapons; no Israeli leftists should be allowed to continue working in the army/police.

Trump sends a stern warning to Hamas to release all hostages by the time he resumes his role as POTUS

Donald Trump sent a stern warning to the Hamas demanding the release of all the Israeli hostages they took on October 7, 2023:
In the waning days of the Biden administration, President-elect Trump is bucking his predecessor's "don't" doctrine as a deterrent to foreign adversaries, instead issuing tough warnings before even taking office.

"If the hostages are not released prior to January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume Office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against Humanity,"
Trump warned Hamas on his Truth Social account Monday.

"Everybody is talking about the hostages who are being held so violently, inhumanely, and against the will of the entire World, in the Middle East – But it’s all talk, and no action!" Trump added.
Benjamin Netanyahu also praised Trump's approach:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday for the latter’s “strong statement” calling on Hamas to release the 101 hostages it has held in Gaza for 424 days.

“It is a forceful statement, which makes it clear that there is only one responsible for this situation, and that is Hamas,”
the Israeli premier said.

Netanyahu addressed the president-elect’s remarks ahead of an Israeli government meeting in Nahariya, a northern city that has often been the target of cross-border attacks by Iranian-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon over the past 14 months.

“Hamas needs to release the hostages,”
Netanyahu said. “President Trump put the emphasis in the correct place, on Hamas, and not on the Israeli government, as is customary in some places.”
Trump has done an important service, exactly what Joe Biden failed to do, and serious action will need to be taken against Hamas even after Trump reenters office again. Serious action will also need to be taken against Hezbollah as well, since they still remain a serious threat.

Pro-Hamas monsters made 2nd attempt to disrupt Macy's Thanksgiving parade in NYC

For the 2nd time since the war against Hamas following the October 7, 2023 bloodbath, jihadist sympathizers in NYC tried to disrupt the Macy's parade:
Pro-Palestinian protesters attempted to ruin the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the second year in a row by physically blocking the procession of floats on Thursday. More than 20 arrests followed.

During New York City’s 98th installment of the iconic parade roughly 25 masked disruptors climbed over the barricades and ran out in front of the Ronald McDonald float with Palestinian flags and a banner reading “Don’t celebrate genocide” and “Land back!”

Footage captured by journalist Talia Jane shows the group of protesters, most of whom were sitting in a line across the street so the paraders could not get past, chanting “Free, free Palestine!” as onlookers booed: A video captured by journalist Oliya Scootercaster shows New York Police Department (NYPD) officers handcuffing the protestors as an argument erupted in the crowd, with one anti-Israel sympathizer screaming “Free Palestine, motherfucker,” at a parade-goer who responded with, “This is America!”: The heated argument devolved into profane insults as the crowd’s “boos” directed at the protesters grew louder.
This time, the police actually cleared the litter off the street in just several minutes. I suppose it's Donald Trump's influence that's prompting them to actually make a more serious effort to prevent such monsters from acting up, though the criminals will definitely have to be severely punished this time.

Update: here's what Phyllis Chesler has to say about the subject.

A ceasefire alone will not ensure the release of the hostages

The Hezbollah, or what remains of it, announced they were willing to do a ceasefire. Then the Hamas signaled something similar:
A high-ranking Hamas official has told French news agency AFP Wednesday that the terror group is prepared to enter into a ceasefire arrangement mirroring the recent agreement between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Though the source did not specify ceasefire terms, Hamas has maintained its demands for a permanent cessation of hostilities, backed by international guarantees and a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.

On Tuesday, an Egyptian diplomatic mission arrived in Israel to explore possibilities for a hostage deal that could potentially expand into a broader ceasefire in Gaza.

Previously, Hezbollah had conditioned its cessation of fire toward Israel on the termination of the IDF's military operation in Gaza. The organization has now abandoned this position, leaving Hamas alone in the fighting against IDF forces.

Of the Israelis taken hostage by Hamas during the Oct. 7 massacre, 101 remain in captivity, with 35 declared dead
It surely has something to do with Donald Trump's election. But it still remains to be seen if the Hamas will actually release the hostages. So far, only time will tell. The Hamas will have to surrender as well.
