Sperm Donor that Fathered 550 Children Sued

A Dutch sperm donor named Jonathan Jacob Meijer, accused of fathering 550 children, is facing legal action from the mother of one of the children he fathered and a Dutch organization called Donorkind.

They fear his prolific giving could increase the risk of accidental incest, and he is alleged to have donated sperm to at least 13 clinics, and communicated with prospective parents on social media using an alias.

Though he was placed on a Dutch donation blacklist, Meijer has continued to donate his sperm abroad, including in Denmark and Ukraine.

The lawsuit is requesting that Meijer be banned from new donations, stops communicating with prospective parents, and writes to clinics that are storing his sperm to destroy it.

The police have not revealed the identity of the vlogger, who is facing charges under Article 172 of the Revised Penal Code for falsification by a private individual and use of falsified documents.

As a result, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) in Davao has tightened passenger screening and security protocols.

Ex-RCBC Exec Conviction of $81M Bangladesh Bank Heist

Former bank manager, Maia Deguito, has lost her appeal against the conviction of money laundering charges relating to the $81 million stolen by hackers from Bangladesh's central bank in 2016. The Court of Appeals dismissed Deguito's appeal to reverse her conviction and upheld the decision of the Makati City Regional Trial Court, which found her guilty of eight counts of violating the Anti-Money Laundering Act. Deguito was the manager of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp.'s Jupiter Street branch in Makati City where the fake bank accounts were opened to deposit the stolen money. The court confirmed that all the elements of the offense were present in the case of Deguito, and she had knowledge that the accounts were opened solely for the purpose of receiving proceeds derived from an unlawful activity. Deguito was sentenced to four to seven years imprisonment for each of the eight counts of money laundering and required to pay not more than 200 percent of the value of the laundered amount.
