Shooting Incident in Cavite Checkpoint

 


SAN PEDRO CITY—A routine check of a sports utility vehicle with no license plate turned bloody in Cavite City on Friday (Nov. 6), leading to the killing of a policeman and an occupant of the SUV.

Nov. 6 - A checkpoint conducted by the HPG in San Pedro City, Cavite turned bloody when an SUV without license plate was apprehended by the authorities - a police officer and a passenger of the SUV was reported to dead.

A Nissan Terra was stopped in a routine check because it has no license plate. The driver refused to show a license and can't seem to provide any papers (O.R. and C.R) to the authorities. The driver even closed his window and after a couple of minutes, Methusael Cebrian, who introduced himself as a Navy officer, got out of the vehicle and started shooting the police.

Cebrian used his Bushmaster rifle in the shootout, he even emptied a single magazine and quickly reloaded to continue firing. Luckily, the police officers got on a cover and returned shot, killing Cebrian right away.

The wounded police was taken to the hospital right away. Investigation are still ongoing.
