Hoppin' You'll Bounce

So much to say, so little time...

I will say that I made this card for a Pastor friend who is having some trouble with his knee that's going to require surgery. And on the very slim chance that he'll read this I want him to know that this is the closest image I have to Spiderman (his favorite).
Seriously, my family loves his family and we wanted to wish him well. I sending this waaaaaaaay ahead of the surgery, because you know if I don't do it know while I'm thinking about it... I hope he likes it. Do you think it's manly enough?

The paper is BasicGrey and stamps are Hambo. Monica was great, I emailed and said, I need these stamps right away, and she got them to me very quickly. Well, she and Tim, with a little help from the USPS. :)

On my way out the door to middle school. I can't believe my 'baby' is going to middle school next year. We are headed to the Middle School Orientation tonight. (Mitchell, take a bath!!! )
Just think, in a couple of years I won't have to remind him to take a bath. He'll start to notice girls and want to smell good. But hey, I'm not rushing it. I already have one teenage boy in the house. Full blown primping-in-the-mirror-too-much-cologne-attitude-having-one-minute-hugging-the-momma-the next official teen age boy!

I have to show you what came to me yesterday. It was like Christmas. But I don't have time now, but soon.

I'm hoping to get back to blogging several times a week as soon as school gets out for the summer. I have so much on my mind, so you can count on it!!! Be Blessed.

Wish Me Well?

Wow, can you believe it's 2009 already! I don't think it really hit me until everybody went back to school last week. And then what a week I've had. I'm still sorting through a mountain of a 'to do' list. There's an art to separating the 'have to' from the 'want to' and the 'really want to', that I haven't mastered just yet. Besides sometimes being easily distracted, I'm artistic. I hear from a lot of artistic people that they think they are ADD( or know they are) I think it goes hand in hand. When I'm inspired, I drop everything so that I don't lose the inspiration.
And then there is the other problem that I face. When I get overwhelmed I shut down and play solitaire or something simliar, which by the way only makes matters worse! I set a personal record this year in that I am still taking down Christmas decorations. It's usually gone before New Years Day. The Boy loves to decorate, but will not take it down. I usually don't mind it, I've just been busy and tired this year so I am and have been in a state of taking the decorations down for a couple of days now. I really am going to finish today! I hope. I haven't forgotten about my prayer list either. I just haven't gotten it written up. Please if you are praying with me, continue to pray for those on the list. There are no new people to pray for, but there is one update that I know of. Continue to pray for all those on the lists over the last couple of months.

Want an example of how easily distracted I've been? I made a card yesterday, and went upstairs to get the camera to photograph it so that I could finally post to this blog and was distracted by several other things( who knows what?). By the time I remembered the camera, it was dark and I couldn't take the picture.

Anyway :) ... here is my simple card. I used a linen textured card stock and decided not to add anything to it. The Wishing Well and message are from Hambo's newest release. At least they are the most recent stamps I've purchased from them. Yes, I just checked they are brand new. The circles were cut with the Coluzzle because I haven't mastered the Nestabilities just yet. It's on my list of 'really want to do's'.

While I was at it I decided to stamp the envelope too. I just wanted the portion of the Wishing Well where the little bunny peeks out. I made a mask from a circle punch.

I'm determined to get a few more cards in the mail this week. I'm still working on Christmas thank you cards among others.

Sorry to post and run, but I've got to make some progress on that list of mine...

stay focused, Jacki!

P.S. Jillana's at it again! Thanks for checking out her Road Warrior story.

Finally, there's light...
Resolved:
Today is the first day of school. All three were early this morning. Whew. Remember, the last time I blogged, I decided that Monday was going to be a better day? Well, it didn't start off that way. I found out that there would be yet another delay in both the Driver's license and phone company/electrician sagas. I was so frustrated, because I wanted the kids to get the school year off to a good start. Have you ever been so down that it is even hard to read your Bible or pray?? That's where I was Monday morning. I sat down at my computer playing a game to distract me and to help me think. I think this when I had my second breakdown (yes, I am human). As I sat at the computer, my daughter brought me the mail. There was a very encouraging card in the mail from a sister in Christ (Thanks, Trish). Somehow that reminder that there were others out there praying for me gave me just the amount of strength I needed. I decided to just go to the county school board and convince (beg) them to register them w/o the tag receipt. The lady at check in said nonchalantly,"Oh they give you 30 days to get that". (Argh) I didn't know whether to be happy, or go and hunt down the girl that caused all this stress by telling me I would not be able to register w/o the tag receipt. I decided to wait and save the hunt for another day. I waited over three hours for my turn, but all went well.
I ran into a friend because of all this. We used to be in the same Sunday school class years ago in another town in GA. She was one of the workers who was pulled out of her office to help with registration because of the volume of folks waiting to register their kids. I may not have run into her if I had been there on that day.

Well, my time is up for the day. There is so much to tell... Thanks for the comments and emails.

Feeling Better?

This is a photo of the card I sent last week to Marcia, one of my fellow Gingerwoodies and a frequent commenter here. She's going through Chemo. I hope things are going OK today, Marcia.

I chose to make the sentiment the focus of the card. The card stock background is Murdock Country Creations. It is glossy cardstock with a "Polished Stone" look. I love the look without the work, especially when I didn't have to pay for it. I was given several sheets of this when I was on a design team. Now that I've "found" it again, I'm guessing you'll see more of it sooner or later.

Finished Card Size: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Stamps: I hope you're feeling better(Stampabilities),
Printed Paper: Murdock Country Creations, Basic Grey
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip(SU), White card(Georgia Pacific)
Ink:Basic Brown( SU) Tattered Rose Distress Ink ( Ranger)
Other: Ticket Corner Punch (SU), Flowers (Prima) , Brads( Making Memories)

Here is a picture of what my desk looks like right now. All my ink pads are out of the holder and rubber banded shut. My markers are too. It's so sad...

But don't feel too sorry for me. I found a couple stamps I wanted to color when I was "cleaning up" the stamps, so I un-did the rubber bands and stamped a little tonight. :) I have to finish packing our suitcases tomorrow. If you've ever dealt with "professional" packers, you know that if it's not breathing, it gets packed. And they don't stop to ask questions. My strategy is to have every thing that we are planning to take with us already in the van by the time they arrive. --And the trash will be emptied or clearly identified. That way there are no mistakes like the time they packed a trash can containing a used Pull-Up !
I had the kids pack their suitcases today. For the younger ones, I'll check behind them to advise and/or add to it, if necessary tomorrow.
Ahhh tomorrow, another busy day. Is there ever going to be a lazy day this summer?
