Mad Tea Party Glimmer Misted....

Stamps: The Greeting Farm; "Miss Anya Dressy", "Wonderland" DIGI

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!! I've been madly creating for my Mad Tea Party album workshop and working on layouts for classes, etc. Yes, I also scrapbook. ;o) Now you know why I leave comments on your blogs at 3am!!

Thought I'd share a little glimpse into my upcoming class at Paper Tales...it is a Tattered Angels Album which everyone will get to customize with Alice themed stamps from The Greeting Farm, Sweet Pea Stamps and classic Alice images. Here, I used my favorite Miss Anya for Alice, and that adorable White Rabbit from the Wonderland digi set. When I need to get several images done for a project, I like to take a short cut in coloring them. I just spray them with my glimmer mist and distress them with some ink.

The whole album (and there's a ton of pages and fold out pages) is decorated with glimmer mist, screens, new Prima, bling, pockets, tags, papers, ribbon...and more...and will be completed in class....4 hours of sparkly fun!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Spring forward....NOT!

Stamp: Sweet Pea Stamps - Elaine Cox Celestial Garden Fairy

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I've been super busy prepping for a big class today. So, my Copic tutorial will be a little later this week. However, while you're waiting, I'll share a fun tip. It is part of a technique I'm teaching today and is on this ATC. Hmm.... think of it as 'Faux Airbrushing'.

For this technique I used a Ranger Mini Mister with some of my Copic Various refills and concocted my own special custom Copic color spray. Think of all the colors you can make!

Best part, I made this little ATC in about 5 minutes.

Note: Whenever working with Copics in "spray" form, you should ALWAYS work in a well ventilated area. Do NOT inhale.

Various Refills contain 25cc's of refill. It's aproximately 30 cents per cc retail. I used approximately 1/2 of a cc on my ATC. It seems like a lot. But in the long run so much cheaper and less complex than an airbrush system. You won't get the perfect even coverage that you would with an airbrush. But the effect is still soft and fun. And, you can spray ribbons, flowers, etc.

I'll be back with a tutorial next week. Right now I need to go to bed because class is only hours away..and we LOSE an hour. YUCK! Not good for a night owl like me. I'll be adding an extra shot of espresso..to everything...for the next few weeks.

Don't forget to "spring" your clocks forward!

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

Surprise! Sweet Pea Stamps Sneak Preview...

Stamp: Sweet Pea Stamps - Ching-Chou Kuik's "Exotic Halloween"

SNEAK PREVIEW!
Ching-Chou Kuik's Fantasy Art Collection Sheet #11, Plate #38
**Will begin shipping March 10th, available for ordering March 5th

Please visit the Sweet Pea Stamps blog for a preview of each of the 4 new images from this incredible new set!! My favorite sheet yet!

You may also visit these DT blogs for their incredible previews:

Mag
Traci
Angela

Supplies: Copic Markers, Sakura Clear Stardust pen, MS bat punch, Prima flowers, Versamagic Pumpkin Spice, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Radiant Rain and glimmer mist, Versamark, UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel)

To make the background: First I embossed heavy weight cardstock with my Cuttlebug embossing folder. I then sprayed several layers of Radiant Rain and Tattered Angels glimmer mist. I then rubbed a little Versamark cube in various spots. Sprinkled some UTEE on top of the Versamark and heated with my heat tool, from the BOTTOM of the cardstock, just until the UTEE melted. If you want it to look like water drops...the key is to sprinkle and heat just enough to melt it. If you overheat it, it will run together and you will lose the water drop effect.

ETA: Candle coloring tip: (This is for you Rinne!)
For this image, I colored the parts inside the candle glow just like the rest of the image, but, with a very light hand. Then, I used my colorless blender over it, several layers, to lighten it up. The flame is YR16, YR68, and Y00. Y00 is excellent for candles, because it has a glow to it (it's the yellow I also use on the "It's My Birthday" image candle). I then used the Sakura Stardust pen around the edges. Ching-Chou's candle image includes all the amazing detail you see, so it makes it easy to color!

If you want to see the exquisite original ACEO artwork of this image, please visit Ching-Chou Kuik's amazing gallery and Ebay store. This image is available as an ACEO print here.
