Irvine Pumpkin Patch...

FINALLY it has cooled down and is starting to feel like fall. Today it is actually RAINING...BONUS! Even a BIGGER BONUS, we got to go down to Newport (well, Irvine actually) and hang out with all our CDM pals! Miss Finn was so excited to see her buddies Will and Davis. I used it all weekend as motivation to be a good girl - it mostly worked. We hit up the Irvine Pumpkin Patch. We got to ride the train, go through the "scary house"(twice), find our way out of the hay stack maze, pick up pumpkins, see the peacocks, and even ride a pony! Whew!

Me, Katie and Julianne in the Spook House!

Miss Finn getting ready to ride Freddy. Look at that nervous smile on her face! She warmed up real fast and la la loved it!

Something cute Finnley said today while outside:
"Mom...it is raining on me..."
(splash, splash, splash)
"Mom, I looovve rainy days!
Me too.

Baby Shower...

Don't ask me why I am posting prego pics this late in the game, but I am. My cute ward gave me a shower last week. Thank you so much Jen for hosting...it was great! I felt a little weird having a shower for baby #2, but I am thrilled with all the fun things I got and appreciate everyone for coming and helping me welcome this little guy. Even my cute, and newly engaged, friend Amber made it down from Huntington Beach! Who knows why I don't see her more often when we live so close?! Thanks again everyone...you are such amazing friends!

Bon Fire...

We met up with a bunch of friends to have a bonfire and celebrate some birthdays. I seriously love relaxing around a bonfire, eating marshmallows and graham crackers (separately), and chatting with friends. Finnley is getting to be such a good roaster. She wants to put the marshmallow on all by herself, and hold it over the fire. She'll hold it out there for a few seconds - too high for the marshmallow to get very much heat - and then take it off and put the whole thing in her mouth!
Mason Scoffield hamming it up for the camera. Mitch was a little disappointed with his t-shirt! What can I say, he's a Ute through and through.
Some of the guys...happy birthday Brodie, Mark and Ty.
Some of the girls. Bear with me...I'm trying not to be vain and withhold posting pictures of my ever enlarging cheeks, nose, and lips (not to mention the many other parts of my bod). I figure it'll be good for the memories. I hope, I hope, I hope.

Day at Disney...

Only a few Disney days left before our passes black-out for the summer, so a bunch of us Newport Mommies got together for a fun, hot day at California Adventure. The kiddos had a blast riding Monsters, Bugs Life, and running around the Brother Bear play area. They were all pink-cheeked and sweaty by the time we needed to go. We love our Disney passes, and I'm a little worried about not having the option of using them all summer. Maybe we'll have to start using our zoo passes!
Laura and Rachel taking a lunch break!
Some of the flushed-faced kiddos!
And look who we ran into! While Finn and I were waiting outside Playhouse Disney I saw my cousin and his cute wife and daughter heading our way. How fun! I didn't even know they were in CA...what a fun surprise. Hope you guys had a "magical" time celebrating your anniversary and Taryn's birthday!

Southern California Half Marathon...

I had fun running with some of my fellow Newport Mommies in the Southern California Half on Saturday. I have loved getting to know these fun, hilarious girls on our long Saturday runs. (btw...I hope they don't end any time soon!) My training went down the toilet as soon as my plane touched down in Utah and all the snow put a damper on my long outdoor runs, but it was still a good time. Thanks Mitch and Finnley for coming and supporting me once again. You guys are the BEST!

Did Ya'll See TWILIGHT?

First of all...I do not consider myself a TWILIGHT die-hard. I read the books, I liked the books, but I wasn't obsessed with the books. That being said, I stayed up way too late for the 12:01 AM showing of the PREMIERE! I couldn't resist once I heard that a bunch of girls were getting together for dinner at Cheesecake around 9:30, and then catching the opening act. We drank our Diet Cokes (which had the adverse affect of sending us to the Ladies room several times), snuck in our snacks, and were ready to go. So there we were, 16 women/mom's hanging out with all the teenie-boppers and goths that came out to see EDWARD. It was a lot of fun, and I'm glad I didn't miss it. After the show, we outlasted everyone in the 700-seater auditorium while we analyzed our likes and dislikes of the show. Here are a few things we determined....
1. We liked Bella 2. Edward grew on us 3. Rosalee wasn't pretty enough (we imagined someone more Heidi-Klum-ish) 4. That whole frolicking in the meadow scene needs to GO 5. Since when does Edward climb trees like a spider money? 6. Her friends were perfect and quirky 7. It was super cheesy, but a lot of fun. Anyway, hope ya'll enjoy the movie (if you didn't already see it at one of the all-night showings), and guess what? I can't wait for the next one!

Irvine Pumpkin Patch...

We had a fun day at the Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch with the "Newport Mommies". I had been in need of something "fall-ish" and our outing really got me in the Halloween spirit. I almost wanted to come home and decorate but quickly remembered that all our decorations are in Utah, in a storage unit. Oh well. Maybe we'll splurge and buy a few pumpkins for our porch! Finnley had fun running around with all her buddies. She was a little cranky at first, but I finally bribed her (with some M&M's I stole at the ticket booth) to sit down and take a picture with the "Pum-pums".
There was a cute little train that went around the entire park. It isn't a HUGE park, but there is a little pond with paddle boats, some stables for a pony ride, a little spook house and corn maze, as well as a bunch of picnic areas for parties and get-togethers. We had fun "All Aboard the Choo Choo Train, all aboard the choo choo train..." - for those of you who watch Disney Channel. :-)
