New Team

I couldn't be more excited about my team for next year! They are so much fun!! Yesterday we got together at Al & Teri's house to swim and eat lunch. When Jane walked in, I couldn't have felt more certain that I'd picked the right team. Ha! We had so much fun talking and spending time together. I just know next year is going to be great! Tammie and Layla weren't able to make it, and unfortunately I didn't get a picture of April. For dessert, I served up a pretty neat little concoction, if I may say so myself. I mean obviously, I had to out do myself and the cups of pink sundaes I served to our roofers.I know I must have seen this idea somewhere and I just can't remember where, because I don't have the creativity to just think something like this up on my own. It was SO easy. I bought small flower pots at Hobby Lobby and washed them really well. Then, I lined them with foil and put ice cream in the inside. (I let it soften on the counter first.) Next, I stuck a straw in the middle of the ice cream and cut it off so only about half an inch was sticking up. Then I froze them for a few hours.
Before serving, I put Oreos in the food processor until they were very fine and "dirt like" and poured those on top of the ice cream. I cut the stems of flowers really short and stuck them into the straw and viola! Pot-o-ice cream! I think this would be so cute to serve at a little kid's birthday party.

Another thing that's even cooler than eating ice cream out of flower pots, is that CNN Money magazine ranked Keller the Number 7 town to live in, in the U.S. Pretty cool! Can't hurt property values either.

Instead of ice cream you can also put chocolate pudding. That's how my mom makes them. I want to try your ice cream way though. What was the reason for putting a straw in them?

Jalei- I did because I thought it would be hard to get the flower to stick down in there once the ice cream froze becuase it was so hard. Also, then the stem doesn't actually touch your food? I don't know- it just seemed logical at the time! Good idea with the pudding!
