(note: in order to keep with my "every title a song" idea, this is a song Liz Lemon apparently sang in her elementary school play... still counts, right?)
I feel like taking the famous Jessie Spano (Saved By The Bell) “I’m So Excited” incident to a new level by the same level of breaking down, but changing the words to say “I’m undecided! I’m undecided… I’m so… scared.” (Where is my Zach Morris to help me out of this one and take away my “caffeine pills?”)
For someone who is so good at making plans lists, apparently I suck at decisions. I feel like I’m at a cross-roads. But it’s a stupid cross-roads because I know that down the road, all paths lead to the same place (Rome?). Still, I am unable to decide how to get there.
Let’s take for example: Lunch today. I’m hungry. The place I want to get to is called “satisfied.” Now, I had some dental work done yesterday so I don’t want to eat a sandwich, and am eating alone so nothing too fancy, but have no real other guidelines.
I stopped at no less than FOUR eating establishments today. San Francisco Sour Dough Pizza seemed like too many calories, Barbacoa, I remembered (after I’d been in line about 3 minutes) is not very good, Beehive Tea Room takes for freaking ever to order (but looks adorable for eating another day!)… and finally I decided on New York Subs. Because they had a good “Summer Salad.”
But then I remembered (after I was already in-line for said salad purchase) that a salad will keep me full for about 45 minutes. So I decided on a cookie. But there were no cookies in my route back to my office. In fact, they are all the other direction. Luckily for me, only 2.5 blocks out of the way (that’s over ½ mile round-trip) is my favorite waffle establishment.
All-in-all, I had a summer salad and waffle (with crème anglaise and strawberries) for lunch, and walked just about a mile and a half in cute (but not comfortable) new shoes. And all because I couldn’t decide on what I wanted to eat for lunch.
PLEASE NOTE: I really did make a very ugly map-drawing of my quest today, which covered more than 11 Salt Lake Downtown Blocks but it was in the wrong program to upload, apparently... jerks...
Now fast-forward to something important… like when I’m going to move to Georgia, and you can see that I’d have a problem (or 8). Do I leave when my husband does and then not see him for a month? Do I take a vacation from work to move him out? Do I move after that month? Do I move after Christmas to save money and spend the holidays with the family? (Do they have Belgian Waffles in Georgia?)
No idea what I’ll decide. And at the end of the day, my husband and I will be living in Fort Benning, Georgia. But the route is a little sketchy.
Random things for today:
1) Waffle place has a new sandwich (so it’s now waffles, frites, and a sandwich!) It’s called the Machine Gun… doesn’t instill a lot of confidence, but I can’t say I’ve ever had anything bad there… so maybe next time. And on a more direct route.
2) Becky’s wedding was this weekend. It was BEAUTIFUL! I’ll post a pic or two when I find cute ones. Also, this was the first time (EVER) that I’ve worn a strapless dress. I’m not sure I’ll do it again (it’s not that flattering…) but it was an experience.
3) My neice is getting married. HOLY CRAP. How am I old enough for this? Did I not just get married myself?
4) You know you’ve reached a new personal low when you start calling the person in the next office over. No wonder Americans are so overweight.

You should be strapless all of the time. You looked stunning! So, there.
As for Georgia, I think I would wait it out. Who wants to explore a new town alone? That may make you hate your new home, and that would not be good.
You are soooo Georgia. I love it.
You'll fit in great there.
Now I am hungry and want to try out all those downtown restaurants!
