Gifts, An Award and Weekend Madness In The Studio

Happy Sunday EVERYONE! Hope everyone had a beautiful and creative weekend!

Darla Peterson, over at http://artisticaccentsbydarla.blogspot.com/ bestowed me the "Favorite Blog" Award. Darla emailed me and this kicked started my weekend! Thank you so much Darla for thinking of me and giving me this wonderful award! I'm honored that you picked me as one of your Top 10 Favorite Blogs. I understand that I have to pass this on to my Top 10 Favorite Blogs. This is very difficult for me, because I have way more than 10, and I cannot possibly decide on only 10.
So, this is what I will do, if you visit my blog, please take this award and pass it along to your favorite bloggers. Keep this award going and pass it on to other Bloggers! So take the award and enjoy it!
If you have not stopped by Darla's Blog, make sure you do! http://artisticaccentsbydarla.blogspot.com/

My Saturday morning started off with a HUGE cup of Coffee, no surprise there ... and as I was sitting on the porch, I see the postmaster stopping at our house and making her way to me with a package ... and look what was inside! Pattee Graham from Odd-Dolls sent me some of her absolutely amazing works of art. We are both taking the workshop over at EVB Studios and Pattee sent me one of her April Fool's Head and other little friends for my studio. I absolutely love them all and I especially love "Little Lost Boy" (above) He is freaking adorable and has made his little home upstairs in my studio! Thank you again Pattee for all of the special treasurers you sent me! I love them all! Cheers my Friend!

See Pattee's work over at www.odd-dolls.blogspot.com

This little gal is WIP that I am working on and she must be completed before June. She will be travelling to North Carolina to Jane. I belong to Jane's Ning Group, Cloth & Clay and we, as a group, will be sending Art Dolls as a group submission to Art Doll Quarterly. I still have to work on her Skirt, which is being made out of recylced newspapers.

This piece I'm working on for DAG. Our May Challenge is entitled "Ghost" and this is what I'm working on. Not sure where it's going, but I'm sure she will tell me!

Here are some more WIPs I'm currently working on! The one on the right freaking looks like Yoda! LOL

Last week I started this little dude and he has gotten some coats of paint this weekend and a little friend! My she has big ears! LOL

You asked for more, well here they are and they are NAKED! Stay tuned for updates on these little gals!
Legs and Arms...man I wish I could sculpt my own legs and arms like this! LOL

Before, I close up the studio for the night (well, a few hours anyways), I try to work on journal pages. Here are some journal pages that I started last night. I love working with journal pages because you have such freedom with them and just "HAVE AT IT" with no worries! I'm having fun with this! I am working on getting over my fear of that "blank canvas syndrome."

Most of you know that I'm involved over at EVB Studio, and I have to tell you, if you haven't checked out Marie's Ning site yet, you must! We started our 1st Saturday Workshop and it's all about Birds. I couldn't stop making these ... Fun, Fun, Fun!

Here are some more "April Fool's" that I sculpted this weekend. The one on the right is like Pattee's (see above). I thought we could swap! LOL And of course I had to have a little guy holding a sign..."GIGGLE"

See the "Blank Canvas Syndrome" strikes ... I have gessoed this piece so many times I can't even tell you, but one thing is for sure, it will have nice texture when I'm done with it! LOL

Now, I'm off to paint some more and work on some more journal pages. I hope you all had a beautiful and creative weekend and until next time...
CHEERS!

Custom Orders, Call To Artists Close To Being Done

Good Evening All! I've been busy trying to get some Custom Orders done for the holidays, and I have I finished the "The Call to Artist Shines"...Christmas is just right around the corner and I'm still feverishly in the studio until the wee hours of the morning getting them completed. One last weekend to get them completed. (Wish me Luck!) Needless to say, I will have to have my unbeliveable husband feeding me through the slit in the studio door! LOL Well...maybe some coffee and shredded wheat! Love the COFFEE and the Wheat! hehehehehe
So here are some pictures of a completed Collage that I have finished for a Bass Player's Sister for a very special Christmas gift! Like I've said before, I love working on Custom Orders! The only thing is, I wish I was a fly on the wall when they open them up!

This mixed-media collage was finished using Bees Wax. I just love using Bees Wax for a finishing touch and varnish. It also makes the piece smell good!

Now these two Shrines were made for the "CALL TO ARTISTS" located at www.corazon.typad.com The "Call To Artists" were made in loving memory of Josseline Jamileth Hernadez Quinteros. This event is to raise awareness and support for a brighter future for children EVERYWHERE! THANK YOU REBECA!!!! I loved participating in this WONDERFUL CAUSE!

Second Shrine done for the "THE CALL TO ARTISTS." This picture shows the front of the cigar box. I couldn't just send one, I had to send two! Rebeca I hope you love them as much as I have loved making them! Thank you for the cause that you are working on! God Bless YOU!
Inside the Shrine!
Well, I must get back to the Studio! Enjoy and have a wonderful Monday!
Cheers!

Whimsical Houses - Posting in Etsy Shop Tonight!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!
Good morning my fellow bloggers...have we had a cup of coffee yet? Well, I have had at least 2 pots and it's only 9:16 a.m.! It's raining here in Pennsylvania and as I look out my office windows, there is a mist that is taking me back to my travels over in Europe. It has a Jack the Ripper feel out there today....only if it would snow! I am wishing that this year for Christmas, we have a WHITE CHRISTMAS.....I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Here are a few pictures of some completed Whimsical Houses that I will be posting later night on my Etsy shop www.crowhavenfarm.etsy.com Make sure you check them out. I have some custom orders that I am working on and that have to be completed by December 17th...wish me luck! All of these houses are approximately 20 inches tall and are ready to hung on the wall or propped up on shelf. I used various papers, and trinkets, wooden numbers or letters and I finish them up with several coats of beeswax! Let me know how you like them!

Side view...the depth is about 1 1/2 inches thick. I'm actually playing around with themes on these. I'll post some pics when I'm done with them.
All three in a row!

I hope you all have a very a SAFE and WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING! Until next time...

Cheers!

P.S. Don't for your eggnog!
