Day 4 of the Want2Scrap/Glue Arts Spring Into Summer Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!

If you are looking for the Inky Antic's blog hop, please scroll down one post. ;)

Today is my day to post on the week long Want2Scrap & Glue Arts blog hop.
I hope you have been checking out the wonderful projects the designers from both teams have been sharing. If not, head over to the Want2Scrap blog for the complete lists.
Want2Scrap will be giving away $100.00 worth of gift certificates, and Glue Arts will have some awesome goodies up for grabs as well!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I needed a graduation card for the son of one of my girlfriends, so I made a grad card with W2S bling and glued it all together with Glue Arts adhesives. The image is an old 2010 Penny Black stamp but it was the only grad stamp I had that would work for a guy. I used watercolors to color it.

Here are some of the supplies I used....

And...here is my card.

The numbers in "2012" are from Want2Scrap's - Chipboard Alphabet- Stylish
I used Art Glitter - Designer Dries Clear Adhesive and  Purple Passion Ultra fine glitter to color the numbers.
The Black Rhinestones are also from Want2Scrap.

The cardstock is Brilliant White, Classic Purple Prismatic, and Intense Yellow Prismatic from Discount Card Stock.

I used Glue Arts - Glue Glider Pro with Extreme Tack runner to attach paper to paper, and their Adhesive Squares to adhere the chipboard numbers.
I stamped and colored the image twice, fussy cut one of them and attached it with an Action Wobbles from Inky Antics, so it wobbles when you move it. :)

I hope you will check out the rest of the Want2Scrap  and Glue Arts team members who have created projects to share with you today.
Here is today's line up.
And me...Trudy Sjolander

To be eligible to win one of the prizes, you must leave comments on both the Want2Scrap blog and the Glue Arts blog.

Thanks so much for hopping by!

I would love it if you left me a little Love before ya go! :)

Time For Another Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge!

Hi Everyone!
Who doesn't love pink and brown?
It's one of my favorite color combos and that just happens to be the theme for Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings current challenge.
Way back when I first started stamping, I bought a bunch of Penney Black stamps and painted lots of duplicates of all of them. They have been setting in a craft drawer for years, unloved. I am going to try to start using them up, My coloring style has not changed a bit so you probably wouldn't have known that I colored this little guy 3 years ago if I didn't already tell ya! :)

I layered some fun Pink + Brown Chex ribbon over some Pink Diamond Satin, both from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
The pretty papers are from Basic Grey's -"Porcelain" stack.
The cardstock is Brilliant White from Discount Card Stock.
The pretty rose and leaves are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I invite you to head over to the RRRR challenge blog and check out what the other girls have created for your inspiration.
While you are there, make sure and sign up for the awesome blog candy that Bonnie has up for grabs! It's a huge haul! ;)

Thanks for dropping by!

Breaking Out an Oldie But Goody Stamp

Hi Everyone!
Today I am playing along with a couple of challenges over @ Split Coast Stampers plus a few others.
Today's "Free For All" F4A43 challenge is "Christmas Break". We were asked to take a break from Christmas cards and create a birthday card....GLADLY!  ;)
Yesterday's "Ways to Use It" WT301 is "All That Glitters" and we were simply asked to use glitter on our project.

I broke out with one of my favorite Penney Black birthday stamps from the "Critter Party" set. I know it has been around for awhile but I think it is sweet and timeless. I used watercolors on the image and popped 2 of the mice and the cupcake for some dimension.
The designer papers are Basic Grey's - "Sugar Rush".
That cute little flower that adds just the right pop to my bow is a small flat mulberry flower from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
Creative Card Crew ~ "Anything Goes"
Fun With Shapes and More ~ "Scalloped"

Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop!

Hello All!
It is the 13th of the month which means that it is time for another fun Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings blog hop!
If you came from Kerri's beautiful blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened on to the hop here, you will want to start back at the beginning at RRR design team blog.

For the hop today, I used a tiny little stamp, on a tiny little card, with two tiny pieces of ribbon.  ;)

I wanted to mix and match ribbons so I picked these two that are from the same hue and color family but different textures and patterns.
They of course are from  Really Reasonable Ribbon and are their Gingham Light Pink and Dots Grosgrain Light Pink.

I watercolored the Penny Black "Buzzing Bear" image.
The Papers are from The Paper Temptress and they are:

I think mixing the ribbon up gave this sweet little card an extra bit of umph.
I used the smallest size on my Bow-easy to tie this tiny bow. Couldn't have done it without it! I am such a fumble fingers! LOL!

I popped the arms and flowers, added some Stickles, a flower, brad and punched leaves to adorn the bow.
I now have a perfect little 3" gift tag card for someone sweet!

OK...enough about my card.
Your next stop on the hop is Cheryl's SWEET blog.

Remember to leave a comment on all of the hop blogs for your chance to win a "October Ribbon of the Month" package!

Thanks so much for dropping by!
Hugs your way!

Transform a Halloween Trick Into a Real Treat With Ribbon!

Hello!
It is Saturday so it is my turn to post a project at Really Reasonable Ramblings. I have posted this same project there but you really should go and visit to check out all of the awesome projects the other girls have been working on lately.  :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was so excited when I opened up my latest package from Really Reasonable Ribbon and saw the adorable "Halloween" ribbon of the month collection!
Bonnie has such a knack for putting just the right ribbons together for her sets.
I know you all have "special" ghosts and goblins that come to visit on Halloween. Maybe a special teacher or friend you would like to treat. Well....here is a quick and easy way to make a nice sweet gift.
Wal-Mart (and most other stores) have their Halloween candy out already which is great for us crafters. I picked up some little plastic jars filled with different kinds of candy for just $3.00 each! They are a tad ugly but I knew how to make them "gift worthy"!
I made tags, stamped them with some Penny Black stamps, and decorated them with assorted pieces of the September Ribbon of the Month collection. They took me just a few minutes to do and will make some little pumpkin squeal with delight!
You could also use Halloween stickers if you didn't feel like stamping. There are some really cute ones in the craft stores right now.
Halloween is still a ways off so you have tons of time to do this too.
Head on over to Really Reasonable Ribbon and sign up for their ribbon of the month club.
You can also buy the individual ribbons if you would prefer.
Bonnie is going on vacation soon so this weekend only, she is offering 10% off to celebrate!
Visit the Really Reasonable Ramblings blog to get the coupon code!
She is also doing a DESIGN TEAM CALL. If you LOVE playing with ribbon, check it out!
Thanks so much for dropping by.
If I say "Trick Or Treat" will you leave me a comment?
TRICK OR TREAT!!!!  ;)
Hugs,
True :D
My Personal Challenge Challenge Card :)
There are tons of fabulous challenges out there that I want to join in on, but with a full time job and several DT positions it is sometimes hard to make the time. So…I challenged myself!
I always have time to do just ONE card so I set out to see how many challenges I could cover in one card without it being tacky or too much.
Here is the result!
Now here is the challenge info:
Sketch and Stash
Use the provided sketch and some kind of stash.
(My old stash was the image. When I first started stamping I colored my images in multiples but never used them all because I was always buying new stamps. This little guy has been buried in a drawer full of (ready for cards) images that are about a year old. My new stash is that pretty Bazzill Dots cardstock. I bought tons of it!)
Penny Black-Buttons Galore
Use a Penny Black image and buttons.
(I used a PB hedgie and 5 buttons)
Basic Grey-Doodling
(I used some scrap pieces of Basic Grey’s “Euphoria” papers and I doodled the bee’s some flight paths)
Simon Says Stamp-Simon Says…Animals
(I used a hedgie for my animal)
Paper Take Weekly-Scrap This!
(The Basic Grey papers were all scraps from a card I did some time ago)
Whimsy Stamps Challenge-Summer Fun
Use anything that reminds you of summer
(Bees buzzing and the little hedgie using the flower to shade himself reminds me of summer)
Note: I am a Whimsy DT and have always used their stamps for challenges, but I thought by entering this card that it would be one way to let you know that Whimsy has changed their challenge guidelines so that you do not have to use one of their stamps to enter. I am sure though….once you get over there to look, you will be wanting some. They are soooo darned cute!
A Spoon Full of Sugar- Add lace
(I used K&Co. self adhesive paper lace)
Creative Card Crew-Pretty Flowers
I used four paper flowers, the hedgie is holding one, and the papers are flowered)
ABC Challenge-P is for Pearls
(I used 9 pearls on the paper lace)
Charisma Cardz Thursday Craft Challenge-Going Dottie
I used Bazzill Swiss Dots for the card base and scalloped frame. The pearls and buttons also count as dots)
Cute Card Thursday-Bit o’ Bling
(For bling I have used pearls, sparkly ribbon and 6 colors of glitter)
OK…in case you weren’t counting, that was an even dozen challenges covered in one card including my self inflicted challenge!
Whew!
It also works for 3 more challenges over at http://stampinoutalzheimers.ning.com/ Put on by "Paper Craft Planet". Hope you will go check it out. You can donate and help us find a cure by clicking in the Stampin'Out Alzheimer's box in the upper right hand corner of my blog.
Thanks! :)
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think! ;)
UPDATE!
I just got back from looking for more challenges that I would like to join in on and found 3 more that this card fits into. Hope they don't mind! BTW...that makes 18!!!
Forever Friends-Buttons and Bows
Used 'em!
Creative Inspirations-Favorite Stamp Image
This is my favorite "Penny Black" image
Everybody Art Challenge-3D
Popped the image and lots of 3D embellishments
Whew whew! ;)
