The VDP is (almost) back!

HELLO everyone! VDP is coming back on line after a long year of absence.
What do you think about starting exactly where I quitted? It was a warm early spring last year and I posted a photo of the busy cafes of Piazza Erbe titled "Spring?".
I would title this one "Spring!"
I hope that many of you who used to follow this blog will still be there and maybe some new ones will join us.
The VDP will be back on track very soon. Stay tuned!

The spring mood

A bright, sunny and warm afternoon in Piazza Erbe. Short sleves, shirts, sunglasses, icecreams and refreshing drinks. Finally.

Spring snow!

A couple of days ago a late snowfall whitened most of Italy's northern regions. Here in Verona it began tuesday evening, feebly, stopped overnight (or probably it was just too light and melt) and started again on wednesday morning with bigger flakes that fell at a steady rythm for hours. The traffic was slowed down considerably and probably this caused discomfort for many people. I was lucky enough to enjoy the "show" at home, behind the windows... Only in the afternoon I went out to take a some pics....

Full bloom in Piazza Bra

In a few weeks the gardens in Piazza Bra have completely changed. Spring has nurtured the growth of tender foliage and the gardeners have planted a variety of  tulips, jonquilles and other colourful species.
Behind the intricate branches you can see the arches of the Arena...

Spring blooms at S. Niccolò

I can't help posting more flowers...
There is a connection between the classical features of the Church and the blooms...
