Hunky Dory at 65/Cooking

I love what I call Adventure cooking; the more spices and other weird ingredients, the better. So here's a cute little kitchen all decked out for me.

For Thanksgiving I made Yorkshire pudding. Here is the table all ready.
There are eggs and milk, a whisk, a cookbook, and laptop so I can get the recipe.
I've got a little snack of bread, cheese and wurst.
There's a Corona and a crossword puzzle I am trying to add the last 4 letters to.
No quite sure why the open can of pudding is there; maybe I thought
I needed it for the Yorkshire "pudding,"

Nice sideboard laden with the necessities.

Simple things.

Little fridge and a bulletin board to keep up with life.

Water kettle for the all important coffee making. Spices and cooking tools.

Extra storage.

Fire extinguisher, steps to access hard to reach areas and a recycling bag.

Closer and inside views showing all the cool stuff.

Plates and bowls.

Rolling pin, skillet and serving trays.

Cutlery.

Chopsticks.

Snack drawer with Nestle Crunch and Smarties.

Extra plates.

Camping grill and plate.

Dishes above sink.

Dirty dishes in sink.

First aid kit and plunger under the sink.

Dinner cooking in oven.

Noodles and wine.

Well stocked fridge.

Beer and Coke.

Meat and sausages.

Veggies.

Full pantry.

Toaster.

Espresso maker.

Mixer.

It took me forever to finish this scene. I dithered around trying to make the refridgerator shelves out of Legos as the entire inside is really a big void. I have had the refridgerator since I was about 9 years old and I really love it but I wanted to be able to put things in it and make it look somewhat real. So I was able to make the shelves out of Legos today....finally. The drawers are Re-Ment but they work well here.
The blue and white sideboard and cabinet are German made by Modella (I think). The sink, stove and little cabinet are PlanToys which I painted white. The table and chairs are vintage found for me by my nephew Nicholas. The foods and kitchen implements are Re-Ment, Playmobil, Kaleidoscope House, L'il Woodzeez, Barbie or misc. things from here and there. The whisk, bowl, cookbook and eggs are from my sister Erika.

Horse Theme Cont'd....Ridin' in the Loft

Just because Daddy bought a big loft and your bedroom is huge, does not mean you need to ride a horse in it for goodness sake! But, then again, you might as well if nothing else than to impress the heck out of your girl.

He's got everything a guy could want...a TV, cool posters

a gorilla,

tools, a traffic cone,

pudding for afters,

a cozy bed with fake fur,

a beanbag chair, and, well, stuff.

Later, his friend watches TV and he's left with the can of pudding.
Bare bulb industrial lighting...that's cool.

I bought the Walking Dead Carl Grimes action figure as it was finally on sale. He is really detailed as I have found out the McFarlane action figures are. Also, I think he looks pretty normal...not all the Walking Dead figures do. I like action figures as they usually look better than dolls, but sometimes action figures have strange clothes or they are zombies like some of the Walking Dead ones. I did realize when I got home that the scale is smaller than 1:12 so I had to use a lot of my smaller things...lots of Playmobil from my son's childhood. The beanbag is his hacky sack which he put with my miniature things awhile ago. I found the Deadman comic poster in a Taschen catalog and could not resist the irony of that in the bedroom of a guy from the Walking Dead TV show.

Again Beany is the inspiration...

I'm not sure Beany of Minis-B-Happenin' meant it the way I interpreted it, but she was my inspiration.  In a comment on my post "Beach Blanket Gambit or My Beau, LeBeau" she said, "What more could a person want, you ask? TWO bottles of wine and MONEY!!"
I told her my next post would have the requested TWO bottles of wine and MONEY. And here it is....

The Studio Apartment

Our young couple just moved into their one room studio.
They don't have much.
No kitchen.
No fan...just a poster of a fan.

No picture to put in the nice frame they found.

What they do have is just enough money for TWO bottles of wine
(they are counting the rest).

Hopefully a bathroom...down the hall, maybe.
A nice bed.
A huge origami elephant made from a giant dollar bill.

A coffeemaker, a blender, a toaster...some hot sauce.

EACH OTHER.

Thanks Beany...couldn't have done it without you.

Geek Grotto

Einie and Colossus have a great hangout full of all things geeky...and a little bit messy.

They have shelves full of their favorite things.

Einie loves the online video game show Video Games Awesome which is billed as the most casual, least informative video game show on the internet. WARNING:  My son says the show gets a bit raunchy at times.

Their messiness benefits their little friend.

A beer bottle in the cactus?

They got this great poster at a bar they went to last night.

And, they've "enhanced" their almost life size model of Princess Leia into "Cthulleia."

Another sexy girl looks to be propping up the lamp or vice versa.

Snacks and knives...necessities.

And, of course, they must discuss the bad movie they've rented.

I was toying with making a red scene in honor of Valentine's Day, but I was having absolutely no inspiration. I started with the rug and the red CB2 chair, but I was stuck. My son Will started making some shelves and then took it from there. He created this hilarious scene using lots of little items from his collections. I think there are more collaborations in our future. Still waiting for my husband to help with one.
