It is wine o'clock

Hello everyone,

For today's project I have made an art journal spread using one of my favourite colour combinations. Lately I have been using lots of blues and greens so it was nice to get back to my pinks and oranges!

I think quite of few of us feel like it is wine o'clock in this weird time we are living in ! lol

Here's how I made it..

First I tore two pages out of my journal, the one the final AJ is in, and cut it slightly smaller so I could glue it back into the book. I do this so the book doesn't get any thicker and fuller. I used a stencil and some modelling paste to get some texture and when this was dry I sprayed the pages with Distress Oxide Ink Sprays. The yellow wasn't bright enough form me so I added some Distress Oxide ink in a brighter yellow with a blending tool. (List of materials as well as the stamps I used is at the bottom of this post). After this was all dry I added some white paint over the top with a brayer. Of course it takes on the colour underneath and doesn't show up as white but simply lightens the colours.

Next I stamped the background with a variety of stamps and ink colours.

I then got carried away and forgot to take more photos but I didn't do an awful lot more to it. I just added the word currently and did some doodling around the edges. Then stamped the lady, coloured her with Copic Markers, cut her out and adhered her onto the right page. I then stamped the sentiment, changed it and added that to the left page. I doodled around the words, splattered some white ink around and added some shading under the lady.

I have used the following stamps:

Rest of materials:
Modeling paste, I used Grunge Paste by PaperArtsy
Stencil - Bubble by Tim Holtz

Distress Oxide Sprays: Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmelade
Distress Oxide Ink: Mustard Seed

White paint by Amsterdam

Archival Inks: Magenta Hue, Venetian Orange, Watering Can and Jet Black.

Usual suspect

Hello everyone,

For today's DT post I have made a mini journal page.

And here's how In made it:

I tore a page out of my journal and cut is slightly smaller. I coloured it with Distress Oxide Inks by dunking it in pools of ink and water. Drying in between layers. I then sprayed water over it and dried again. Next I did some stamping in the same colours.

Next step: Adding some stencilling with an UmWow stencil and white paint. I also drew around the hearts with a white paint pen and added some splatters.

I thought it needed some black so I added more stamping. That was my background done.

I stamped this doggie and coloured him with my Copics. I only added shading because I wanted him to be a white dog.

I adhered him on the page and added some washi tape for him to sit on. The sentiment was added and doodled around. Lastly I glued the page back into my journal.

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:

Distress Oxides:
Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmelade, Chrushed Olive and Broken China.

UmWow stencil : Chunky Heart

Versafine Clair ink.
Copic Markers
washi tape

Well behaved women

Hi everyone,

For my second January post for VivaLasVegaStamps! I have made an artjournal spread.

Here's how:

First I applied Distress Oxide inks over gessoed pages. I used pieces of cut and dry foam for this but you could also use a blending tool or blending brushes.

Next I placed a stencil over the top and rubbed the ink with a dry piece of kitchen towel. I wanted it lighter  but not white. If I had used a baby wipe it would have taken all the ink off.

Next I stamped the background randomly with the same Oxide inks,  a Versafine black and a grey StaZon. No reason for the inks apart from them being within reach or the colour I wanted.

I forgot to take a picture when I was colouring, but you get the idea. I stamped the naughty lady and the gentleman and coloured them with my Copic Markers and cut them out. I added some washitape to the page to stand them on and glued them down. The sentiment was stamped on white card stock, cut into strips and adhered on the other page. I then doodled around the strips with a black pen.

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:
Distress Oxide inks:
Broken China
Peacock Feathers
Twisted Citron
Mustard Seed
Carved Pumpkin
Worn Lipstick

Versafine Onyx Black
StaZon Dove grey
Gesso
Copic markers
Black pen

Scribble that shit out

Hello everyone,

For today's project I have made an art journal spread. I have used some of the latest release stamps. I love the scribble girls by Tina Walker and I had to use one today.

I started this page with a gel printed piece of paper and added stencilling and stamping to the background using different inks. I added some black paint along the edges to frame the pages. I used a palette knife for this.
The girl was stamped on the page and on some white card stock. I coloured her, cut her out and glued her onto herself on the page. I then coloured the earrings and necklace with a paint pen. Lastly I added the sentiment and doodled around it with a black pen.

Here's a close up...

I used the following stamps:

I also used:
Amsterdam Acrylics to make the gel print
Archival Inks in Aquamarine, Veridian and Jet Black
StaZon - Dove Grey
Distress Oxide ink - Tumbled glass
A flower stencil
Black acrylic paint for edging the pages

City morgue

Hello everyone,

For today's project I have made a journal spread. I only just noticed that I used almost the same colours as for my last project.

And here's how:

I used a brayer to apply these colours on the pages. This paint is very chalky so you don't have to use any gesso.

I did the same with these two colours.

Next, I collaged some dictionary paper on the page.

Some stamping.

and some stencilling.

My focal images, stamped on tissue paper.

And here it is put all together. I doodled around the edges and the sentiment with a pencil. I also coloured the doctor and the skeleton with Faber Castell Big Brush Markers.

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:
Archival inks:
Magenta pink - Viridian - Aquamarine - Jet Black - Watering can

Distress Oxide Ink:
Weathered wood

A Tim Holtz zig zag stencil

PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk Acrylics:
Sage - Teresa Green - Mermaid - Snowflake

Faber Castell Big Brush Markers:
Cold grey and Raw Umber

Ranger Distress Collage Medium

Love. Repeat.

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my second November post. I made a very small art journal page today. I had this piece of paper in my stash that I had gelli printed on and wanted to use it today. It is 10 x 15 cm which is aprox. 4 x 6 inches.

I did add some stencilling on the right side to repeat the pattern of the left side. I then added white paint in the middle and some splatters. I doodled the same words as from the stamp onto the whitish spot in the middle. Next I stamped this fab stamp by Tina Walker, went around with a white pen and filled in the heart with a pink paint pen. I then stamped the sentiment as a background stamp and also separately on a strip of white paper which I edged with a pink marker. I adhered the strip underneath the woman image. Lastly I added a line around the sentiment and around the page.

I have used the following stamps:

Just because...

Hello everyone,

welcome to my 2nd blogpost this month. I have made an Art Journal spread this time and this is it.

The background was made with acrylic paint, a stencil, a babywipe and a blending tool. I started out on a gessoed surface. Next I added the stamping around the edges.
The lady and the sentiment were stamped on tissue paper and adhered with gel medium.
Lastly I drew a line around the edges.

A close up of the 'Banksy Wall singer' that is from the latest release.

The sentiment is from the same sheet. Love them both !

I have used the following stamps:

and for the background I have used my favourites:

I'm late, I'm late....

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my inspiration post today !

I have made an Art Journal spread and I have gone for an Alice in Wonderland theme. I love Alice in Wonderland. Strange really if you know that I only started to read the books as an adult. I got really interested when I started crafting as the characters are great for cards, tags, journals... you name it.

This spread was made in my homemade gel printed book. I learned making this in a workshop with Birgit Koopsen. You make lots of gel printed pages and then glue them together to make a book.
There is a video from Birgit to show the process HERE

I started with heat embossing the Dandilion here and there on the pages. I used fine detail white embossing powder by WOW. Next I stamped the background with similar colours of Archival inks as the background and with grey and black for contrast. Next I added some washi tape and stamped the rabbit and the sentiment.

The rabbit was coloured with Copic Markers and cut out. I rest amped him onto my page and was then able to cut off small details like the watch chain. I then adhered the coloured one over the top. I also added some shading under him.

The stamped sentiment was cut into smaller pieces and adhered to the page. A little doodling with a white pen finished the whole thing off.

I used the following stamps:
