Express soulful notes by Tracy Blackwolf

 Hello everyone!

For my project today I made an art tag. Enjoy...

I felt a nice spring art was in order. To start, I sprayed three colors- mustard seed, tumbled glass and uncharted mariner onto the tag. Spritzed a little water to help the blend, let dry a bit and then finished the drying with my heat tool.
Once dry, I dropped water drops all around and let that sit for five minutes then dabbed with a paper towel.
It Gives it a more distressed look. Then I Used a pallet knife and light modeling paste through a stencil for the musical notes. spread it through like you're buttering bread. then let dry. Takes about  20 minutes depending on environment. Because I used distress spray, and the paste is wet, it will soak up the underlying color. If you don't want that you can first seal the art with collage medium. Or, you can wipe paint or wax or ink over the top when dry.

I then felt it needed a bit more color so I spritzed some saltwater taffy ink here and there. Not too hard as I wanted drops rather than heavy coverage.

While that dried, I stamped the singer lady and painted her and cut her out. I put foam tape on the back of her to give dimension.

I attached her to my tag and began hot gluing paper flowers all in her hair and down her neck and shoulder. Last, I Gathered the word stickers to make the phrase and stuck them on. And that is it!
I hope you enjoyed this weeks blog project.

WE COULD BE HEROES - by Fran Chalmers

Hello again everyone!

Today I've made a boy or man card using Banksy stamps!

I made the background by smooshing Distress Inks in Hickory Smoke and Rustic Wilderness, drying between layers.

I stamped my main image onto the card, then some background stamps around the image in Versafine Clair Morning Mist and Memento Olive Grove..

I also stamped the main image onto thick paper and coloured it in and fussy cut it out.

I used some washy tape and then stuck the main image onto it, grounding the image.

Lastly, I embossed the sentiment on the corner of the card and mounted the whole thing on black card, which I then stuck onto my card blank.

I would use this card for a man or boy and I hope you like it.

THE SIDESHOW - by Fran Chalmers

Hello everyone!
Today I have made a card using the lovely Banksy bear on a unicycle! Here's how I made it....

First of all I made a background by smooshing distress inks in Kitsch Flamingo, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry, drying between layers.

I then added background stamps in different colour inks (see below) to add a bit of texture.

I stamped the bear onto thick paper and coloured with copic pens.  I fussy cut it out and edged it with a black marker.

After placing the bear, I edged the mat with Spiced Marmalade distress ink, and coloured the bunting and the inside of the chevrons.  I stamped the sentiment in black straight onto the mat.

I glued the mat onto a white card to finish off.

THE GREATER YOUR STORM by Fran Chalmers

Hi everyone!

Today I have made this quick and easy card. Hope you like it.

First of all I made the background by using distress inks to make the rainbow colours by just brushing them straight onto my backing card. I didn't worry too much about blending!

I stamped my Banksy image onto the card, and then splashed the card with water (with a fan brush) and dabbed it dry with tissue, giving the impression of rain.

I stamped the image again on white paper, as well as the sentiment onto card.

I fussy cut the image and stuck it onto the card so that the skin on the girl and the umbrella stayed white.  I cut up the sentiment and spaced it onto the card.

To finish the card off, I added some washy tape under the girl and drew a thin, black line round the edge, and mounted it onto a blank white card.

Stamps Used:

Banksy Rain Under Umbrella Girl 2 19486

The Greater your Storm 19781

Other Items Used:

Distress inks in Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass, Wilted Violet

Versafine Clair Nocturn ink

Washy tape

Fine black liner

BANKSY ATC's by Fran Chalmers

Hello again everyone!

Today I have made some ATC's featuring Banksy stamps (which I love).

I had all the gelli plate backgrounds in my stash, so cut them to 3.5" x 2.5" size.

For the first ATC, I stamped the image and then cut out the zebra and the woman.  I stamped the image onto the card so I wouldn't have to cut out the stripes.

I added washi tape to add interest to the finished ATC.

For the second ATC, I edged the card with blue to frame it, then stamped the image in black.  I added washi tape to add interest.

With the third ATC, I edged it with purple and stamped the image onto the ATC, and then thick paper so the sign is left white.  I cut it out and added washi tape to finish it off.

I coloured in his Peace necklace with gold glitter pen to add a bit of interest too.

Hope you like them :) See you next time.

Banksy Girl Watering TV Antennae 19603

Banksy Rat Protester 19489

Other Items Used:

Assorted Washi tape

Life is Beautiful by Fran Chalmers

Hi everyone!

Today I've made a card  to say that Life is Beautiful! I hope you  like it.

I made the background  by smooshing distress inks in Peacock Feathers, Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade on a piece of card.  I dried between each layer so the colours didn't go too muddy.

I then used a gold glitter pen to draw around some of the shapes that the ink had made.

I used a mask with musical notes on, with distress ink in Lucky Clover.

I stamped out the main image and cut it out.  I did try colouring the whole image, but it didn't really work and got a bit lost in the background, so I decided to keep her monochrome apart from a red lip.

I stamed the sentiment and decided to cut it up so I could place it differently on the card.

Lastly, I drew round the edges with a fine black liner, then layered the card onto black card, and then onto cream card.

Hope you enjoyed this card.  See you next time!
