Hello friends, Aimee here with an alcohol inked card to share with you.
We're using little plate 910A.

Here's a shot of most of the supplies.

OK, let's make a card 😁

Grab some Yupo or glossy card stock and some alcohol inks.
I'll list the colors I used at the end.

Ink the top 2/3 of your card with blue colors I also used a little light purple),
leaving white space for your house.
I stamped a mask onto a post it and used it in the spot I intended to stamp the house.

Ink up the bottom third with greens.

Now remove your mask and ink up the house area with pinks.

Stamp your house over the pink area with black Archival Ink.

If you want, you can CAREFULLY go around the house with your inking tool and tidy up the color.

Stamp the fence panels onto brown card stock with black ink.

Do a little green inking on a scrap of Yupo or glossy card stock,
and stamp the trees with black Archival Ink.

Cut out your fence panels and two trees out.

Trim your house panel down and mat onto black card stock.
Add to a card front.
Add the two trees beside the house and add some white to the house with a gel pen.
Add one and a half fence pieces to the right and left of the house with foam adhesive.
Add another half fence piece to look like an open gate.

Add our sentiment however you prefer.
I used a Tim Holtz sticker.

Supplies-
  • card base, black card stock, brown/craft card stock. paper trimmer, Yupo/glossy card stock. scissors, adhesives, alcohol ink tools
  • white gel pen
  • Archival Ink (Jet Black)
  • Alcohol Ink blending solution
  • Alcohol Ink colors- Sailboat Blue, Clover, Cool Peri, Raspberry, Sublime pearl, Intrigue pearl, Tranqiuil pearl.

A Place for Creative Ideas...

Hello everyone! Susan here with a special project combining Viva Las VegaStamps! with Art Anthology. All week we have teamed up with Art Anthology to bring you tons of inspirational creations. Have you been checking in each day to see all the artsy goodness?

So you don't miss anything please be sure you check out these links:

Art Anthology's Website: www.artanthologyinc.com

Since Earth Day is this week, I have decided to decorate this journal that came to my husband as a goodie from the car dealership. It's a blank book, with lined pages – perfect for jotting down ideas and things to remember... BUT it's not me. Enter Art Anthology Gemstones ~ Dimensional Paint in Emerald and Flourite and Colorations Spray in Wild Orchid along with my stash of VLVS! to decorate this journal in my favorite color PURPLE and also to disguise it from the hubs {so he doesn't realize I swiped this out of the recycling bin - LOL}.

In the process of creating my monoprinted backgrounds - I discovered the Art Anthology Gemstones ~ Dimensional Paint works great for a resist technique. Here's what I did...

I started with my Amazing DIY No-Gelatin Printing Plate and set out to make some monoprinted backgrounds using the Gemstones ~ Dimensional Paint. I went with the Emerald first and placed some onto my surface and spread out evenly with a brayer. **A note** When monoprinting you have to work quickly with this paint as it dries quickly. I pressed the "Harlequin Diamond Background #18920" stamp into the wet paint and pulled back making a reverse image. I quickly placed the stamp onto another paper to remove the paint and pressed a paper onto my rubber slab to pick up the design.

This is my first pull from the Art Anthology Gemstones ~ Dimensional Paint in Emerald.

There was some leftover paint that dried on the plate, but that's OK. I then sprayed the Art Anthology Colorations Spray in Wild Orchid and swiped the print into the beads of color. I blotted away any excess spray from the green painted areas with a paper towel.

Photo on left is full resist background and on right is an up-close detail.
The texture and color is yummy!

How about another! I blotted off the remaining mist onto a blank paper {nothing goes to waste} and applied some of the Art Anthology Gemstones ~ Dimensional Paint in Flourite and spread out with my brayer, then repeated my steps.

This one is even better!!! Some of the Emerald that was dried on the plate was picked up in this second pulled print. I love the contrast of the monochromatic resist - this will be for the front of my notebook.

I trimmed each to fit and adhered to my cover using Miracle Sheets - makes altering notebooks quick and easy. Using a small paintbrush I added some of the Flourite around the edges to distress and get rid of the white edges... really I just wanted to get my fingers all purple. Now I'm ready for a little inky embellishing with some fun stamps!

Love Is A Work Of Heart

Hello its me Tera Again!
Happy Early Valentines Day to all of you!
For my piece today I want to share a special layout that I made for my brother and his girlfriend.
(Shhh... This is a surprise so don't tell them yet hehe...)

For this Layout I wanted to use depth and color to highlight the focal images. I chose to use corrugated board and my favorite kiwi colored tattered angels spray (over a layer of Gesso to keep it's truest color). Since this will be placed in a shadow box frame, I wasn't worried about the thickness of the embellishments.

Stamps Used here:

Love Is A Work 2 x 2

Large Arrow Heart 2 x 1 3/4

Eyes Looking Left 1 x 3 (which I didn't end up using in the final piece)

I started by inking the stamped images that I thought I would use, and cutting them out.
I then arranged them around the photo and adhered them with miracle tape

I also decided to really spruce things up but adding some fun UmWow Studio Chipboard Star Confetti
and the inside of the UmWow Chipboard Contoured Feather

Now that you've seen this super simple layout, Who's ready to get stamping!?!
Don't forget about the ongoing February challenge and that you can also share your creations on the Viva Las VegaStamps! Groupies Facebook page too!!

March Guest Designer : NAT KALBACH!

I have to start out by thanking each and every person who has ever used VLVS! -- each month I'm so ecstatic to introduce another guest designer. They always provide us with the most beautiful work using our stamps. I also thank each and every customer who uses our stamps. I especially love it when they share what they've created with us :) And our Creative Team is no exception. They provide beautiful inspiration day after day.

I think I got a little mushy because we have such amazing artwork that is continually shared with us using our stamps. And today is no exception..

I introduce to you (as if she NEEDS an introduction) NAT KALBACH.

"Hi, my name is Nathalie Kalbach. I live with my husband Jim and our spoiled rotten cat in Hamburg, Germany.
I discovered Scrapbooking and Mixed Media in 2004. I was always drawn to the more messy and painty side of Mixed Media and I love to mix and match colors and paint products. I think everyone can be creative and that creativity just has to be freed. Just like it had to be freed in me, since my professional life was one of a paralegal …I just quit my job 2 years ago to be a full time Mixed Media Artist.
My layered work is an explosion of texture, dimension and jewel tone colors. In my workshops I share my secrets for using paint and ink to reveal texture, give tips for embedding found objects and show how to unlock your personal creativity.
I have worked and still work with many different manufacturers like Prima Marketing, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Derwent and Liquitex. I am a Prima Educator since 200."

I am so thrilled to be a guest designer for Viva Las Vegas Stamps. I used the Charred Wood Background Stamp to create my own background for a grungy layout. The layout is about the East Side Gallery - a tiny remaining bit of the Berlin Wall that was painted by different artists in 1990 and now unfortunately is supposed to be torn down to make room for some luxury flats.

I love to create my own backgrounds using stamps to emphasize photos or the feelings and emotions that go along with photos. For this background I had stamped the background with the awesome Charred Wood Back Ground Stamp and embossing powder and then used Wow Bonding Powder and Foil on top. This created a kind of resist. So when I sprayed soem Dylusion spray inks over the stamp image and texture of it got fully revealed.

Other Suppliess used:
White Cardstock
WOW Bonding Powder
WOW Foil
Versamark
Ranger's Dylusions Spray Inks
Liquitex Professional Spray Paints
Heidi Swapp Chipboard Letters
Rose Moka Journaling Cards
Posca Marker
Zig Journaling Pen

Huge hugs
nat

Introducing Guest Designer.. GABI!!

Each month we'll have a new feature here on the blog.. A GUEST DESIGNER!! Each GDer will have two designated days per month to share projects that they've created using our stamps.

Please help me warmly welcome our first guest designer.. Gabi.

Here is what Gabi had to say about herself:
"I am 46 years old, married with a friendly, loveable husband and my grown daughter lives in Berlin. I live in the west of Germany on the Dutch border. Since my childhood I often had tinkered, painted, sewed and knitted. Since 2007 I work with rubber stamps. I saw some stamped works on the Internet and then I was so amazed and thrilled that I necessarily wanted to make this art form. This has become an addiction!
In various forums we share our experiences and projects, participate in workshops and give us tips.
I'm working mainly ATCs, cards, tags and collages. Especially I like the mixed-media style and vintage-style, but also funny and bizarre motives. I like to experiment with different colors (acrylics, watercolors, chalk and pastel colors), materials and tools. So I like to make very different backgrounds for my works.
Sometimes I connect my stamped art is not only paper but also stitched works."

And here is some of the fabulous work Gabi has put together using our stamps:

This beautiful card features our Accordion Player and Fan - 2.5" x 3" - $10.00

 And for this card she used our Rabbit on Bicycle - 1.25" x a.5" - $6.25 and our Gears Make The World - 1" x 1.25" - $5.50

Thanks so much Gabi!! Check back this time next week for other just as fabulous works by her :)

a 2nd journal page..

.. I've had the pleasure of sharing my 2nd journal page on my own blog already, but I haven't shared it here, where it really belongs!!

Because without VLVS!, this page would be incomplete. Here it is:

I used the
stamped it in Memento tuxedo black and embossed with the
Other products include TH ideology, basic grey brad, glimmer mist in inch worm and charcoal, and an Imaginarium Designs chipboard shape.
