Butterfly Wings

Spring is here!!  Yay! Is anyone else as happy about that as I am???
Michele here with a spring inspired card.

I started with the Daisy for my background, they are watercolored with Aquarelle pencils.  I even cut a few out and popped them up.

Next I stamped the Butterfly Spotted in archival ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder.  This butterfly was one of my very first VLVS! stamps and it is still a favorite, I find my self going to it often!

The She Spread Her Wings sentiment was just PERFECTO!

Until next time...get inky!!

Imagine Spring

Missouri doesn't really have a spring, it is winter, rain, then summer!!  It jumps from 40-50 degrees to 80-110!

(Note picture taken from above on a slant)

Decorative paper was used in this design, but the butterflies were stamped right on top and enhanced with gel pens!

The banner I stamped, colored and cut so it looks like it wasn't even stamped at all.

Of course the flowers you can tell are a stamped image.  I bought many flower images to fill my stamp file.

VLVS Images:
6038 - Butterfly
19042- Chevron Banner
899- Plate  15752 - Gladiola's

Paper by Bo Bunny Press.  Hand-dyed May Arts Ribbon with Smooch sprays.

Painted colors to bring out texture and color with inks and gel pens.

My garden up by the front door has many greens and buds waiting to bloom.  I can't wait to have lots of color in my yard!

Stamp, layer, color, enhance!  Use elements and embellishments to finish your art.

HAPPY SPRING!

Best Chick in Show!

Happy Saturday Everyone! Leslierahye here and in my part of the world the season has changed to Spring and we are about a week away from Easter. That means we will have lots of Easter events in the community and at the school celebrating the Spring Holiday. When I saw the May Arts Ribbons that the team were given to work with, the wide twill ribbon looked like it needed to be made into some sort of winner ribbon! So, I bring you the award for Best Chick in Show!

for this project you will need :
Mix'd Media Inx
Crepe Paper
May Arts Ribbon
Distress Reinkers
Maya Roads Pearl Mist

I began by stamping the hexagon background on my ribbon with Mix'd Media Inx and heat embossing with Ultra High Gloss Embossing Powder. I then misted the ribbon and painted with Distress Reinkers the colors of Spring. I worked on a piece of white cardstock which would then become my chick--I dried it with the heat tool, stamped the chick and egg stamp with Mix'd Media Inx and heat embossed the image and fussy cut it out.

Once dry, I then went back with the scroll stamp on top of the ribbon and just heat set it.

I stamped the scroll on pink crepe paper as well. I then used Miracle Tape on the back of an EcoArtBoard 2×2 square to ruffle my stamped crepe paper. Miracle Tape on the edges of the board also held the crepe paper up to the sides covering the edges. The EcoArtBoard was painted with Distress Reinkers and the hex and swirl were once again stamped and heat embossed. The Chick and Egg image was attached to the front with foam tape. The ribbon was attached to the back with Miracle Tape...Our Best Chick in Show award is now ready to be presented!!

I hope you enjoy my project! Thank you for looking! ~leslierahye

Today Is Magical

Hello, my dear stampahiolics!

I hope you're having a wonderful day!

I have an art journal page to share with you today,
using two Viva Las Vegastamps, Pan Pastels, and of course,
Stickles!!

I hope you like it!

Want to make it?
Alllllrighty, then!

What you'll need:
Book to work in (mine is watercolor paper)
Pan Pastels (or other soft pastels)
Permenant inks- brown & black
Spray sealer (I use Krylon)
Tree stencil
Scraps of white card stock
Scrap of colored card stock
Die cutter
(or, alternatively, you can use a stamped sentiment)
Stickles
Scissors
Stuff to color with (I used markers)

Create your background using the pastels.
I started with the grassy area and used three greens.
Start with the lightest color first, and work your way to
the darkest color.
Once the grass is laid in, start on the sky. I used three blues.
Once all the color is on, blend it.
Spray with sealer.

Add the trees using a stencil and brown pastel.
When you life of the stencil. lightly swipe over the page with
a cloth or paper towel, to seoften the edges.
Spray with sealer.

Now start stamping the flowers across the bottom of the page.
I stamped some in brown and some in black.
Color as desired.
(I used a white gel pen on some of them)

Now, get that white card stock out and stamp some flowers and a fairy.
Trim closely and stick the images onto the Miracle Tape sheet.
Color as desired and cut out.
I cut the flowers and just used parts of them.
Remove the liner from the Miracle Tape and place the
fairy on the page. Add the flowers in front of and around her.

Cut out or stamp your sentiment and add to the page.
Scribble Stickles around the words,
and use your finger to tap the Stickles around and up the page.

I also added black Stickles to my words.

Set aside to dry, and you're done!

And, here's your wiener!

My Dachshund Valentine card from my post on the 1st.

Tip Toe Thru The Tulips

Hello again everyone! Jennifer here! It's good to be back posting for the VLVS DT! I have several things to touch on today! First...what do you think of my card above?

I was thinking SPRING but wanted something more than just spring...I thought this was kind of cute...I was diggin' the yellows and oranges! The ducky has so much personality! He can be found HERE over at the online store. The stamp is called Sneakered Duck and it's a 2X4.

There is still time to check out the BLOG CANDY we have going on over at Viva Las Vegastamps!

Read about the VLVS Blog Candy HERE. BUT HURRY!!!!! We NEED 125 followers by April 30th!

I must remind you about one of the BEST products Viva Las Vegastamps has right now! It's taking the crafting world by storm!

It's called Miracle Tape and I know I mentioned this 2 weeks ago both HERE and ON MY BLOG but I cannot say enough good things about this product! My most favorite part is that it is so durable and PERFECT for those heavy-duty projects! I LOVE using it on ribbon and heavier cards with many layers of paper and embellies!

A few more things about this project...I wanted to make mention that the textured yellow paper that is just underneath the digi stamp clip is actually the backing of a random embellishment pack. I have been reusing those as often as possible. I LOVE that most of the companies are making the backing of the packaging interesting, patterned, and/or textured now! I used Crayola paint pens and markers, zig zags, Martha Stewart flower stickers, Bazzill Paper/Cardstock, DCVW Paper, Stickles, and Sticko Vellum Stickers.

AND...I am excited to report that I'm stocked about the upcoming projects and products for May! Be sure to swing by often!

Visit My Blissful Place Blog, too, when you have time! I would LOVE to see you there! Have a great weekend!
