The theme of this week end´s DC ( drawing challenge ) is a tricky and yet fascinating one for me: 

Metamorphosis

Somehow I begun to think about water and its different forms. During the seasons of the year I am able to see and feel them all. I love to see the whiteness of snow in different shades as well as the grey, blue, green and even pink color the sea gets during the short but bright and wonderful summer. 

I am also thinking of the vital importance of clean water and the sea and ocean areas. See this:( and this:)

Well, after a while I found myself playing with the metamorphosis of me myself:) There are some photos and self portraits, which show that I feel I am in the process of metamorphosis all the time!

My DC is - once again - without any drawings nor is my interpret quite according to the title..

Teen abstrakteja ja esittävän ja abstraktin välimaastossa liikkuvia teoksia.                                                                              

En yleensä luonnostele, piirrä tai tietoisesti käytä mitään kuvia työskentelyni lähtökohtina.                                        

Käsittelen töissäni mielentiloja ja tunteita, esimerkiksi ulkopuolisuuden tunnetta. Minua kiinnostavat myös tilat, jotka liittyvät määrittelemättömiin paikkoihin ja luonnon kokemiseen. 

                                             

Maalaus on minulle läheisintä. Väripigmentit, värien sekoittaminen ja imeytyminen / kerrostuminen maalauspinnalle sekä koko vartalosta lähtevä liike maalatessa on kiehtovaa. Fyysisen ja intuitiivisen työskentelyprosessin takia teoksissani on usein näkyvissä hetkellisyys ja läsnäolo.                                                     

Koen onnistuneeni, kun prosessin aikana kankaalle tulee jotain, joka mielestäni kuvaa alitajuista, outoa, kiihkeää tai alkuperäistä. Silloin teos kertoo jotain ihmisenä olemisesta.  

                                                                   

Näyttelykokonaisuus Särkyvää/Fragile  koostuu  öljy- ja akryylimaalauksista kankaalle sekä muste- ja akvarellimaalauksista paperille.

Olen pitänyt gallerianäyttelyitä Turussa ja Tampereella, osallistunut moniin ryhmä- ja yhteisnäyttelyihin Suomessa ja muutamaan Miniprint -näyttelyyn ulkomailla.                                                         

Kesällä 2015 työskentelin Raumars -ohjelman taiteilijaryhmässä kokeellisessa Mikrokosmos –projektissa. Syksyllä 2015 osallistun Avarataide ry. taiteilijaryhmän kanssa Pirkanmaan  trienaalin  off - tapahtumaan.  Helmikuussa 2016 on tulossa yksityisnäyttelyni Varikko –galleriaan, Seinäjoelle ja toukokuussa lopputyönäyttely ( Kankaanpään taidekoulu, Samk ) Rantakasarmin galleriaan Helsinkiin.

That´s about my recent installation projects: Microcosm and For better or for worse

A boy about at the age of ten was watching as I worked with my linen-shell-installation in Rauma.
 -A fragile shell, he said suddenly. And that is what my art is all about.

Särkyvää / Fragile is also the name of my upcoming exhibition.

Näyttelyä on tukenut Taiteen edistämiskeskus, Pirkanmaan taidetoimikunta

AvaraTaide ry:n taiteilijaryhmä osallistuu Pirkanmaan 6. Triennaaliin OFF-tapahtumana rakentamalla Galleria Rongaan tilateoksen nimeltään Hyvässä ja pahassa. Vuoden 2015 Triennaalin teema on "Ole kuin kotonasi".

Kotiin liittyy itse kullakin erilaisia mielikuvia. Kodissa eletään ehkä tasapainoisimmat ja sopusointuisimmat hetket mutta koetaan myös syvimpiä ristiriitoja.Näyttely koostuu hyvin monenlaisia kodin tunnelmia välittävistä kokonaisuuksista.

Mukana on teoksia, joihin yleisön on mahdollisuus osallistua kommentoimalla teoksen tai teosten heissä herättämiä tarinoita, muistoja jne. Yleisö voi ottaa osaa näyttelyyn paikanpäällä tai facebookissa, missä on mahdollisuus kommentoida sinne näyttelystä kuvattuja kokonaisuuksia. Kirjoitusten lisäksi näyttelyssä on myös muita osallistavia teoksia.

Ja erityinen ilonaihe on, että yksi työni pääsi hyvään kotiin Pohjoisrannassa:)

Upside down

Patrice choosed a fascinating theme for this week´s DC ( drawing challenge ): Upside down.

Art is often about things that upset, are twisted  - about things that are upside down.

At first Georg Baselitz came to my mind with his bold and strong paintings.

Then I remembered a work called State of Readiness by a sculptor Heli Ryhänen. She is a wonderful artist and  great teacher:)

I have been taking photos of reflections which turn the view upside down.
And I found my "self portrait" ( oil on  metal plate, 2013 ) lying on a shelf - upside down:)

Today  I saw two fascinating and unique exhibitions.
At first I went to Saskia Gallery.

There were on display Pälvi Hanni`s works: very airy, luminous, delicate graphics.

After that I went to Tampere Art Museum to see something very different:

the young artist of the year -exhibition.

Actually, this year the young artist is a artist couple Nabb+Teeri.

They use found objects and waste materials in their installations. Their works are very much art of the day by the themes, too. I found their colors and ideas clever and  funny in a twisted way.

After the exhibit I looked at the world in a new way, see the photos above.
