Upcycled Jars using Want2Scrap Nestabling

Hello Want2Scrap friends, it is Linda here back on the Blog to share a quick and easy projects usingWant2Scrap products.  I am a keen recycler and am always looking around the house to see what can be recycled/upcycled - this time I have found the answer in the fridge - let's just say that Jam Jars will never be the same - they come in so many wonderful shapes and sizes and are just begging to be given a 'second chance!'

Follow along with the tutorial and you can see just how easy it is to reuse your jars and make them the envy of your friends!

Once the jars have been washed and are thoroughly dry I adhered the beautiful badges I was given by a friend.  One of them fitted on the lid perfectly but the second one needed more, so I headed to my Want2Scrap supplies!

I adhered a row of  Petite Ivory Crochet Trim around the sides of the jar, making sure it was securely taped using Double Sided Premium Tape by Want2Scrap - 1/4" x 150 yards, which holds it in place beautifully.  Two rows of Nestabling Heart Circles Black Rhinestones were added  to the lid, the inner row takes care of the gap that was left by the badge being a little too small.

A row of tape/ribbon was adhered around the second jar using Double Sided Premium Tape by Want2Scrap - 1/4" x 150 yards and a row of  Nestabling Heart Circles Black Rhinestones added around the badge.  Finishing off with twine wrapped around the top of the jars and heldnin place by Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L Strong Tape.- and a button added - embellishing is where you can make it your own - so many possibilities.  These jars are now in The Studio and I am sure others will be joining them before too long.  They also make great gifts can can be filled with Bath Salts, Small Soaps, Chocolates to name a few.

Other: Beacon Adhesive: Zip Dry Liquid Glue; Badges; lace, buttons, twine; recycled glass jars: Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L: Strong Tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by and the lovely comments you leave - they are appreciated.  I hope you are inspired to add some of the beautiful Want2Scrap pearls to your projects

Fanciful Fairies

Here is a decorative wall hanging with Fanciful Fairies and beautiful butterflies with lots of Want2Scrap bling. I love using Graphic 45 Once Upon A Springtime collection of paper, it fits so nicely with just about every type of bling you will find at Want2Scrap.

I just love using Swirls Finesse - Silver Rhinestones - 2 Pack - Self Adhesive on just about every project I create. Just look how amazing those Wonderful Wings Bling matched Spellbinders Wonderful Wings die templates.

I hand trimmed the flowers and added 72 Count - Black Pearls - Self Adhesive to the center and brushed on some Diamond Stickles to the petals. I also inked up Chipboard Embellishments - Pack of 4 - Style A and used it as a base for my fairies and flowers. The stamp that I used is from Quietfire Designs, I die cut S4-328 Foliage die template from Spellbinders and sanded and inked each leaf using Clearsnaps Fluid Chalk Chestnut Roan, pinched up a bit to add some dimension. After I had all my pieces cut, and assemble I adhered them to my wall hanging base using Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry, and there you have it a vintage wall hanging perfect for a little girls room. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you find just the right bling for your next project. Crafty Smiles,

Life's Little Lessons

Hello, Terre here with another album for your viewing pleasure! This album was created using the Grand Series Chipboard Album Labels Twenty-Three from Want2Scrap. Look real close.... do you see that beautiful paper? Guess what you can also find that at Want2Scrap, it is the new line of designer paper from Susan K. Weckesser.
It is fun to hand trim pieces from the pattern paper and pop them up to add dimension.

Did you know that you could use the Nestabling with out having the coordinating die template, see just look how amazing the Nestabling Pearl Scalloped Hearts look on this page.

If you haven't noticed there is a stamped sentiment on each page, some of them are words from the heart others are just an encouraging thought. This album is an inspirational album filled with special feelings, it was amazing how perfect the paper, bling and chipboard accents from Want2Scrap made this album come together.

Don't you just love how these Antique Keys and Keyholes - Silhouette make the pages just pop, add a few 72 Count Hot Pink Rhinestones and wow just look at them shine!
See just look at that bling!
This page just screams fun, I think we all should just go paint the town red, what do you think?

This page reminds me that no one could ever take my mom's place, and I hope that my own children feel the same way about me. The Chipboard Charlies Birdcage Silhouette makes me think of my children who have left home and my little one who is still part of the nest. I know crazy right?
Just look at all that pretty swirly bling, I think it just goes with everything! Don't you?
You can create a page just by trimming pieces and popping them up just like the flowers and the bird, add some B.Y.O.B. 2 (build your own bling) Donna Salazar Design to make it look like the bird is flying...just perfect!

I hope you have enjoyed this mixed media album and I encourage you to create one of your own, we would love to see what you create, just send us a picture on Facebook! Crafty smiles,

Shabby Chic Altered Chest by Trudy Sjolander

Hi everyone!
True :D here :)

I'm a card artist at heart, but every now and then I like to mix it up a bit!
I saw this ugly chest at the dollar store and just had to buy it!

I knew with some pretty paper, flowers, and bling, that it could be a beautiful accent for one of our guest rooms.
First I gesso-ed the trim to start with a clean slate (sort of... I left some brown showing on purpose), then used lots of acrylic paints, mists, and my fingers to get an aged "painted and re-painted over the years" look.

Looks old to me...what do you think?

I added some paper, flowers, some White Finesse Swirls and White Pearls from Want2Scrap and viola!

The lighting in the guest room isn't prime for photos so the color is off, but can you see how well it matches the decor?

Thanks so much fro dropping by today!
I would love it if you left me a little ♥♥♥ before you go! :)

Hugs!

"Yum Yum" Mini Album: by Wendy Morris

Hello Hello!

Wendy here with a "yum yum" blog post for ya' this Friday!
Super excited to share up my "yummy" mini for all you foodies out there near, far, and wide...domestic & global & all cultures!  Come & unite!

A bit into my inspo....I've globe trotted in my full-time work as audit manager and travel quite a bit and in that piece of life I get to sample and try new foods at some pretty neat places...cubby holes I would normally pass by but locals rave for me to try + lots of international travels that just swoon the taste buds with some amazing flavors!  I pinch myself often for all the wonderful experiences, travels, and of course, incredible food!

So, without further ado, here's my mini, "Yum Yum".  I'll share a bit here & there into my creative & inspiration process in putting it together.

Enjoy!

Here I used stamps onto the cardboard and splattered mist/paint for added interest.

Sweet memories of cafes and beautiful restaurants in Italy.
Nothing like a finished plate as a beautiful remembrance of that amazing meal.
I focus on lots of details in my projects and really using these details to draw out the memories from the photos.

The perfect Italian cappucino...need I say more.  Yep, straight to the heart of goodness.

Sweet tea (with ice, please), that's how we do it in the South (and a Mason jar makes it even a bit more comfy).  I made a play on the Southern states with the random splash of States stamps here.  Splashes of coordinating bling and pearls add a bit of charm to this page and all the pages in this mini.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts. You know when the "light is on". Fresh, hot, and oh.so.good.  and you HAVE to whiz into the drive thru or pop in for a "hot off the press" doughnut.

After dinner, a bit of Limoncello in Italy. A bit of that "warmth-sour-sweet-kick". And "the boy" likes the licorice. {insert my face..bleckk}

Bagels in NYC. Even better straight in a NYC diner. Oh, yes.  The fast pace, the greasy smells, the entire city vibe. Love it.

Paella in Madrid, Spain. Heavenly.  A bit of Sangria is nice too and better when enjoyed with local friends in the local plazas and people watching and chatting.

Here I used mini popsicle sticks to play on the ice cream theme to this page. Fun fun!

Love love the risotta in Italy!  My boyfriend is Italian (and currently lives in Austria) and we recently were in Italy this April for a mini vacation and had this amazing risotta with squid and shrimp at a quaint & cozy restaurant. So yummy!

When in NYC, definitely make a "pit stop" at Crumbs! Holy gosh goodness in cupcake sin!
Voted "NYC's Best Cupcakes"!  I think they run a very close vote to Magnolia Bakery in NYC (in my opinion).  Just try both places and you'll be a super happy cupcake lover (or easily converted).

I live in the South (aka Alabama) on the Bay and it's all about some hotness & sunshine but I'm lucky to live a few hours from New Orleans (aka NOLA). Love it when crawfish boils are in full season! Don't knock them until you try them.  All about the technique & oh so spicy & good in NOLA with some corn on the cob, potatoes, and sausage!

Now that I've made you hungry...ha...hope you enjoyed a glimpse into my foodie travels.
