Here's a quick glance at the top 4 domains accessing bloghorn blogs today. Charter and Southwestern Bell customers make a good showing but don't compete with the crawlers (search engine & rss).

I've backed out some of the recent caching changes to bloghorn. Some of the components were causing headaches in the both the appearance of your blog (strange characters) and in the speed of some operations (eg. making comments and saving blogs). I apologize for the inconvenience. The components that were causing those problems have been removed. I'll continue to make performance tweaks but from here on out we're dedicated to the application framework as a basis for the blogs rather than trying to maintain a cached rendering. There are too many cool features that can't be done as efficiently with cached html.
Thanks for your support.

I've pushed out the new caching mechanism to all of the bloghorn blogs. You should notice a significant increase in the speed that your blog page loads for both authenticated (logged in) and non-authenticated users. Most of the improvement was made to non-authenticated users as there are presumably more readers than there are bloggers. Over the coming weeks I will focus my development efforts primarily on performance. There will continue to be small feature additions (like the recent atom feed and the third option for the powered by logo). If you spot a bug or have a suggestion please email support@bloghorn.com.

Several bloghorn blogs have been upgraded to 2.2.264.0 today. This new version implements an aggressive caching mechanism that up to now didn't exist in the product. The result should be that readers of these blogs (non-authenticated users) will experience much faster load times than before. Additionally, the overall load on the server will be less. If you're one of these bloggers and experience any problems please let me know as soon as possible by emailing support@bloghorn.com or by leaving a comment here.
As always, thank you for your support.

Bloghorn blogs now automatically publishes a feed with the last 10 comments for syndication. To access the feed, appen "/comments.rss.xml" to your blog's URL (E.g. http://bloghorn.com/comments.rss.xml). To stick the familiar orange xml button for this feed onto your blog place the bloghorn:recentcomments:rss tag into your Page Template.

The maintenance is complete. I'm leaving the option to create new
weblogs offline for a bit longer to watch system performance. In the
interest of disclosure, I did reboot the server once during the
maintenance period so there was a minute or two of downtime. If you
experience any problems please contact support@bloghorn.com.
