The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) is the agency of state government charged with the responsibility for insuring the state and its local governments are prepared to deal with the disasters and emergencies that affect the state and its citizens.

It is also part of our responsibility to help insure that the citizens of Tennessee are as prepared to deal with emergencies and their consequences as possible.  The agency's web site is one of the primary mechanisms through which this is accomplished.  Please use this site to better understand what kinds of emergencies might affect you and your family, and use it as a tool to help prepare yourself to meet the challenges that will be imposed upon you when disaster strikes.

Turn Around - Don't Drown!

Many of the deaths occur in automobiles as they are swept downstream. Of these drownings, many are preventable, but too many people continue to drive around the barriers that warn you the road is flooded.                                     Learn more...
