Let's take a final look this week at the 45-min. NQ. Although fuzzy is still long, it looks like the fifth wave may be putting in today. The trend has been nicely up these last couple of weeks which has provided a tailwind for various long day trades -- having the broad market wind at your back will bail out all kinds of bad entries and sloppy executions, as fellow klutzes well know.

The coil scanner picked up EMC again. It coiled tighter still; if it breaks down, it should whoosh. (Interestingly, QCOM has a similar pattern.)

An amusing article comparing the dot-com mania with the Beanie Baby craze, by Thomas Mulligan:

"Whether a Beanies collection now resides in a cut-glass display case or the back of a closet may depend on the owner's level of embarrassment. Some former collectors cringe when they think of the plush critters, just as certain investors do when they recall Internet crash-and-burns such as Webvan or Pets.com."

"In February 1997, [Peggy Gallagher] self-published 'The Beanie Baby Phenomenon,' a 52-page paperback priced at $24. It sold 77,000 copies."

In 1999 I should have self-published 'Day Trading for Dummies,' a 50-page paperback priced at $24. It would have easily sold 77,000 copies. ;-)
