National Public Radio reportedly censors David Sedaris over reference to flirtatious elf - not kidding

Even better, the gay content that NPR reportedly cut was from a broadcast that they've been doing for 12 years - the very SAME broadcast. Only this year did the cut the "offending" paragraphs from the VERY SAME text they've been broadcasting every year without problems. It was okay in 1992, but now in 2004, it's offensive to make a joke about a flirtatious elf.

I have literally had it with every organized group on the left, from the Democratic party to the "liberal" non-profits to people like NPR. If they can't stand up for who they are, then we shouldn't give any of them a dime. Can someone get contact info for NPR? They need to hear from us. And I suggest next time they ask for a pledge, we call them and tell them why we're not giving.

I just watched two guys make out in a shower on MTV - all is well in the world

It's over. The religious right has lost. Sure, they're going to beat the crap out of us in the next few years (hell, they still haven't gotten over making black people more than 3/5ths a man), but in the end, they've lost. Did you bring them any body armor for Christmas?

Rummy is a whore. Send our troops to war based on a lie. Don't send them the armor they need, so they're all dying. Then when your job is finally on the line for leaving our troops out in the lurch, plan a quick public relations event with the troops - i.e., USE the troops - to show the world you're really a nice guy, so you can save your job.

Rather than worrying about saving your own ass, Rummy, how about saving the asses of our 150,000 servicemembers for whom photo ops won't save their jobs, or their lives. Read the rest of this post...
