I’m trying to be better at making my brain understand that doing really well in classes will get me exactly nowhere when I’m done. I’m trying to get myself to take some hours out of the week and devote some time to professional activities—trying to get published, conferences, etc, but it’s a very difficult transition for me to make.

I kinda love iAnnotate. The writing center where I work uses it to work with electronic drafts and I totally love it. But I think I’ll get the pages too because I might need for drafting things or taking notes

Is the pages app for the iPad worth it?

Any other apps I must have?

    AND ALSO:

my downstairs neighbor has been listening to what I can only assume is “Rhapsody in bass” for the past 3 hours.

In short, I hate everyone and everything

And then they have the nerve to get pissy when people take their clothes out

I’m sure they would! I’m too grossed out by other people to touch their stuff. I did just go back to re-check it (mostly because I had to leave all my stuff there) and they’re still there after 20 minutes. Let’s see if they’ll take their shit out after an hour.

you know who the worst people in the world are?

The ones that take 7 out of the 8 washing machines (with the 8th one not working) and don’t transfer the clothes to the dryers when the cycles are finished.

  10. I continue to be amazed by how smooth and soft my skin is

All of them?

Having hard time believing the guy with the 200-vehicle car collection, including a 100,000+ sq. ft. garage and machine shop, is “superfrugal”. Unless, of course, they just mean that he doesn’t tip. That I could believe.

That’s exactly what it means. Rich people love spending money on cars and boats and houses. But they’ll scream at the cashier at CVS if their coupon is expired. Super frugal!!!1

I have a hard time believing this because I’ve seen Kristen Bell at Mayfair on Franklin (before it became gelson’s). And that mayfair was the kind of place that would get offended at the word “sale’ and sold avocadoes for 3 bucks each.

OMG I love that Mayfair!!!!!  I saw Shane West there and THAT’S MY HOOD BIATCH!  i think technically it was always Gelson’s - I used to avoid it because I thought it looked shifty but then my friend was like no, it’s Gelson’s.  Weirdly the receipts still say Mayfair.  It’s my “I’m having a bad day I need a fancy grocery store to cure it” go-to.  When you come back let’s go hang out at Franklin Village!

OMG we’re totally neighbors (well, more like you’re neighbors with my parents). I saw Shane West once at the Quizzno’s on the corner of hollywood/western. He was buying a sandwich and I was naming our imaginary kids.
I usually stop by Mayfair (it will always be Mayfair to me!) whenever I go for a walk, because it’s far enough away from me that I get thirsty by the time I get to it.
Also: if you spent any time at all at Solar de Cahuenga between 2005-2009, I’ve probably seen you.
AND YES WE ARE SO HANGING OUT AT FRANKLIN VILLAGE!

Wait a mintue…SERIOUSLY girl on Solar?  I lived at Wilcox & Yucca from 2008 - 2011, I was at Solar ALL THE TIME THAT IS SO WEIRD.  I also lived at Gramercy & Franklin, from 2006 - 2008, and then Winona & Franklin 2011 - 2012.  I want a place in Beachwood SOOOOOOO BAD.  Now I’m in Glassell Park & used to love it but now I hate being so far out of town, it’s killing me.
THIS IS KISMET

IT WAS MEANT TO BE ALL ALONG!!!
I’m gona avoid putting very specific information, but let’s just put it this way—when you were on gramercy and franklin, we were within walking distance.
I do love love love this area—when I was visiting, my sister and I walked to get coffee from bourgeois pig one night, then went book browsing at the used bookstore and it was just perfection. I also sat on the scientology sign and downed cans of four loco with my brother one night 2 summers ago.
And yes, Solar was where i got most of my work done when I was in school. I’m sure we’ve both been there at the same time at one point. And their savory crepes (especially the one with peppers and chicken) are to die for.

voodoomama asked: I'm really curious now, I may splurge on a dozen... I love eggs!

Honestly, they’re not even that expensive. I’ve gotten them on sale for $3, which is only like 80 cents more expensive than regular eggs that are large. But even when they’re not on sale, they’re like 3.29 or something. a regular carton of eggs (the super tiny ones) is about 1.80. give it a shot!

voodoomama asked: What's the taste difference?

I can’t describe it well, except to say that it’s richer? I’ve only recently gotten into eggs because I figured out how to make them without the uncooked whites grossing me out. The organic ones are always bigger (like 2 of them are the same size as if you were using 3 regular eggs) and they don’t get that dirty rag smell when you cook them. And the semi-cooked yolk tastes wonderful
