March Project Theme ~ Doorhanger

Happy Saturday Everyone! It is the last Saturday of the month and that means that it is time for our monthly project theme!  Every month, the Whiff of Joy Design Team will work on the same Project theme and we will post all our interpretations on this blog the last Saturday of each month! A summer-ish stair step card

A very happy wednesday to all of you!

It's Kathrin here with another card to give you some inspiration.

This week at Whiff Of Joy Challenges we ask you to make a stair step card. Some time ago Jeanette posted a great tutorial on how to make a stair step card HERE on our inspiration blog.

Now I used this to make a summer-ish version of it using one of the beautiful new Maya stamps. It's called Maya beobachtet einen Marienkäfer

and it's such a great image.

Einen wunderschönen Mittwoch Euch allen!

Hier ist Kathrin, um Euch ein wenig kreativ zu inspirieren.

Diese Woche haben wir bei Whiff Of Joy Challenges das Thema "Stair Step Karte". Vor einige Zeit hat Jeanette HIER auf dem Inspirations-Blog ein tolles Video dazu gepostet. Diesem bin ich nun gefolgt, um meine sommerliche Version zu machen. Dazu habe ich Maya beobachtet einen Marienkäfer aus der wundervollen neuen Maya Reihe benutzt.

Ist das Motiv nicht wundervoll?!

Even the background stamp is by Whiff Of Joy. It came in one of the beautiful secret stamp kits, I think it was spring 2011. It is the perfect stamp to create a wonderful scene.

Auch der Stempel im Hintergrund ist von Whiff Of Joy. Er kam in einem der tollen Stempelkits, ich glaube es war Frühling 2011. Und er ist der perfekte Hintergrund für Maya und diese kleine Szene.

I put cut out and punched grass to create the idea of Maya lying in the summer grass. I used two different grasses in different heights. On the front panel I added the word "summer" together with a bow and a little swirl. On the background panel I added a little cloud.

Ich habe Gras ausgeschnitten/ausgestanzt um den Eindruck zu erwecken, dass Maya im Gras liegt. Dazu habe ich zwei verschiedene Stanzen in verschiedenen Höhen verwendet. 

Auf die erste "Treppenstufe" habe ich dann das Wort Sommer zusammen mit einer Schleife und einem Schnörkel hinzugefügt sowie eine kleine Wolke auf den Hintergrund.

The image is colored with Copics.

Das Motiv ist mit Copics coloriert.

As you can see here you don't necessarily need a bunch of designer's papers or layers - just using stamps and some cardstock can create a wonderful card as well.

Wie Ihr seht, braucht es nicht unbedingt viel Designerpaper oder Lagen - einfach ein paar Stempel und einfarbiger Cardstock reicht manchmal absolut aus, um eine tolle Karte zu machen.

3D-PopUp-Birthday Cake Card

Hi Ladies,

Ich hab heute eine ganz spezielle Geburtstagskarte für Euch. Sie basiert auf demselben Prinzip wie meine Karte beim letzten Blog-Hop. Und zwar ist es eine 3-stöckige-Geburtstagstorte, die sich beim Öffnen der Karte auftürmt.
I've a very special Birthday-Card for you today. The base is the same as on my card for the past Blog-Hop. It's a 3-layer-Birthdaycake, that stands up when opening the card.

 

Für die Torte habe ich meine Sizzix-Stanzform benutzt. So sind die Basics gleich zugeschnitten. Einzig die 3 Streifen für die Seiten der Torte (rundherum) müssen von Hand noch selbst zugeschnitten werden. Dann können die Teile an den Markierungen gefalzt werden und sehr einfach zusammengeklebt werden. Beim ersten Mal muss man noch etwas studieren, aber bei der zweiten Torte ist man schon blindlings fähig :) wirklich eine tolle Stanzform! Das 3D-Haus von meiner erwähnten Blog-Hop-Karte ist ebenso eine Sizzix-Stanzform, die man dann einfach noch nach belieben dekorieren kann.

For the cake I've used my Sizzix-Die. So the basics are cutted really fast. Only the 3 stripes for the side of the cake (around) have to be cutted out by hand. Then you can fold the peaces on theyr marks and glue it together really easy. First time doing it it's kind asking your concentration, but doing second time you can do it blindly :) a really great die! The 3D-House I've used on mentionned Blog-Hop-Card is as well such a Sizzix-Die, that can be embellished as you desire.

 

Die Bänder im Whiff Of Joy Shop sind wirklich ganz wunderschön! Für meine Karte habe ich das rosa Band auf folgende Weise gekräuselt. Es ist so simpel und der Effekt ist einfach süss... versucht's auch! Einfach den mittleren Faden (oder 2) ziehen und das Band zurückschieben.

The ribbons at the Whiff Of Joy Shop are really gorgeous! For my card I've ruffled the ribbon the following way. It's so simple and the effect is so cute... just try! Catch the middle thread (or 2) and ruffle back the ribbon.

Polyshrink colored with Polychromos

Good morning to you all!!! 

Here is Giò........ today I want to show you how realize some delicious charms for your jewels.

The technique is the Polyshrink colored with Polychromos.

It is simple and fast and you don't need to be good in coloring so this is a technique that everybody can try.

This is the list of supplies you will need:

Polyshrink

Sand Block

Stamps I used  
Penguin Love
 Birdie Love     
Penguin Trio

Staz On Ink

Polychromos

Johnson's baby oil or if you prefer Mineral  Oil

Scissor

Heat tool

Diamond Glaze or other gloss

First of all you need to sand the Polyshrink surface, in this way the ink will adhere it better.

With Staz On stamp your image on Polyshrink.

 You can color with Polychromos as you prefer, I usually use at least two colors
to take depth to the image.....

 Continue to color and don't exaggerate, remember that when Polyshrink reduce
themselves the colors saturate.

Now with a stump wet with oil blend the colors as they merge in.

 Cut the image carefully.

Punch the top and don't use a too small punch because the hole will grow smaller.

Heat the Polyshrink with the heat tool that will grow smaller. As you heat it the piece will crumple.....
don't be afraid, it will be normal again at the end of the process......

Then to help yourself you can put an acrylic block as you turn the heat tool off.

To protect and polish the surface use a gloss.

Here are my charms ready..... aren't they too cute?

I realized a bracelet, but you can also realize earrings, necklaces and more else!!!

Oggi voglio mostrarvi il tutorial per realizzare una card portacandeline.

E' molto facile e può essere un'idea carina per un regalo.

Per questo lavoro ho utilizzato "Willow with Christmascandle".







Today I want show you a tutorial to make a lightcandel holder card.

It's very simple and it can be a cute idea for a gift.

For this creation I used "Willow with Christmascandle"









Tagliate un pezzo di cartoncino di 7 1/2 x 10






Cut a piece of cardstock at 7 1/2 x 10











Sul lato lungo piegate alle misure indicate.







On the long side score at the indicate mesures of the photo.











Ruotate il cartoncino sul lato corto e piegate secondo le misure indicate.







Rotate the cardstock on the short side and score at the indicated mesures.











Ora con le forbici tagliate come indicato nella foto.







Now with the scissors cut as indicated in the photo.







Dopo il taglio questo è il risultato.







After the cut this will be the result.











Con l'aiuto di un cutter o delle forbici, tagliate una finestra lasciando per ogni lato un margine di 1/4.







With the help of a cutter or of the scissors, cut a window leaving for each side a 1/4 border.











Ora tagliate un pezzo di acetato di 1 3/4 x 5 7/8 e incollatelo sulla finestra con del nastro biadesivo.







Now cut a piece of acetate of 1 3/4 x 5 7/8 and stick it on the window with a double side adhesive tape.











Rivoltate in cartoncino e aggiungete il nastro biadesivo come nella foto.







Turn over the cardstock and add a double side adhesivee tape as in the photo.











Per il top tagliate un pezzo di cartoncino di 6 1/2 x 6 e piegate sul lato lungo a 5 3/4.







For the top cut a piece of 6 1/2 x 6 of cardstock and score at 5 3/4 on the long side.











Lungo la linea di piegatura usate il nastro biadesivo per unire il top e la parte che contiene le candeline.







On the score line put the double side adhesive to bind the top and the lightcandle holder.











Ora la vostra card portacandeline è pronta e voi potete decorarla come più vi piace.  







Now your lightcandle holder card is ready and you can decorate it as you like the most.
