Hello!
It's time for another fab ColourQ challenge and I love this week's combo...
Love the newsprint with black and red! I needed to make a Valentine's card for my sweet husband and so I thought this combination would work well. I pulled out a Taylored Expressions single stamp I bought when I was in the US back in 2010 that is perfect for my hubby who loves dogs (well any animals really!)...
I was so pleased with how this one turned out! Let's hope he likes it... After all he does see rather a lot of my cards so for him to be impressed it has to be top notch! I used this week's Deconstructed Sketch for my layout...
Make sure you stop by the rest of the ColourQ design team to be inspired by their fab creations this week!

Watercoloured leaves...
Hiya!
It's time for another fun ColourQ challenge and this week's colours have got a lovely autumnal feel to them...
I thought I'd try something a bit different and create some leaves using the Autumn Accents die and some watercolour paper, so I got out my aquabrush and inks and had some fun creating this...
I used the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch for my layout...
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Dictionary, Everyday Occasions kit
Ink: Island Indigo, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Watercolour, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Chocolate Chip, watercolour dsp
Accessories: Chocolate Chip chevron ribbon, linen thread, gold button, neutrals candy dots
Tools: Autumn Accents bigz die, Finishing touches edgelits
Make sure you check out the fab creations from the rest of the design team this week!

Coral Blackberry Rose...
Hiya!
I'm just popping in quickly to share a little something I put together for a couple of challenges: Case this Sketch and Just Add Ink...
I recently took part in the Stretch Your Stamps 2 class at Online Card Classes and one of the techniques I learnt was 'no outline colouring' which I just had to try seeing as how much I love colouring! This is what I ended up with...
I used the Sweetbriar Rose stamp, stamped with Sahara Sand ink on Whisper White card then coloured with Blendabilities - this technique works when you use a light coloured ink because the lines disappear under the ink from the markers - I love how it turned out and will definitely have to try it again! The Blackberry Bliss background was stamped with the Dictionary Background, which you can't see very well in the photo (it is there though - I promise!).
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Sweetbriar Rose, Dictionary, Good Greetings
Ink: Sahara Sand, Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss, Blendabilities (Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Cherry Cobbler)
Paper: Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss, Naturals White
Accessories: Mossy Meadow ribbon
Tools: Project Life Corner punch

Another Great Birthday...
Hiya!
It's time for another fab ColourQ challenge and this week we've got a really versatile combo to play with...
I was determined not to use flowers again (lol) as I seem to always gravitate towards those kind of images. I wanted to create a guy's birthday card and so pulled out a few different stamp sets and dies and ended up with this...
I wanted to try a fun background technique I've seen around recently where you sponge the ink onto a portion of the stamp before stamping - I used the Dictionary background stamp and Tempting Turquoise ink then stamped over the top with Gorgeous Grunge and Encore gold ink. The film strip frame was die-cut with Choc Chip card the the sentiment (stamped on Naturals White with Choc Chip ink) was layered inside. I added some stars stamped with Pool Party (from Perfect Pennants) as well as a smaller one from one of the Thinlit die collections. The banner at the top was cut from Gold foil card and layered with a Tempting Turquoise die-cut arrow (again from a Thinlits collection) and a Neutrals button.
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Dictionary, Another Great Year, Perfect Pennants, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Gold Encore
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Gold foil, Whisper White, Naturals Ivory
Accessories: Neutrals button, gold sequins
Tools: Banners framelits, On Film Framelits, Thinlits card collections

Antique Bermuda Butterfly...
Hello!
I really liked the look of this week's Freshly Made Sketch and so I paired it with the gorgeous colour combo over at Just Add Ink...
After seeing the retiring lists released in the US, I wanted to play with some of the MANY lovely things that will be leaving our catty at the end of June {sniff!}...
Two of the things I was very sad to see on the list were the Bigz butterfly die and the sizzlit doily die... they are both so pretty and versatile! Also on the retiring list is the Naturals Composition dsp and core'dinations cardstock.
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Dictionary
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Paper: Naturals Composition dsp, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Naturals Ivory, Bermuda Bay core'dinations
Accessories: Antique brad, vintage buttons
Tools: Doily sizzlit, Bigz Beautiful Butterflies die, Beautifully Baroque embossing folder

Love Language Congratulations
Hiya!
I've had a rare day off today and as well as doing some baking, I also had some crafty time and was able to play around with a few challenges. I combined the Mojo Monday sketch with the colours from PPA, which also fit perfectly with the current Card Concept challenge - to use monochromatic pinks...
I used some more new goodies from the Spring/Summer catty to make a card that could be used for a wedding or engagement...
I used the sweet Language of Love set for the hearts - the larger one was embossed on Rose Red card with silver EP and punched out with the matching heart punch and the smaller ones stamped on Blushing Bride with Rose Red ink and punched out with the small heart punch. The greeting was stamped on Very Vanilla with Basic Grey and die-cut with one of the Word Bubble framelits (these are so versatile!). The layers behind are: vellum cardstock, punched in each corner using the Envelope Punch Board; a banner cut from Blushing Bride card using the new Banners framelits and stamped with the Dictionary background stamp; and a piece of Basic Grey core'dinations card embossed with the mosaic embossing folder and lightly sanded. The Naturals Ivory panel behind was pierced around the edges using my piecing tool, template and mat. I added a little arrow cut from Silver Glimmer paper (cut in half) using one of the dies from the Thinlits card collections (love how this turned out!)
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Language of Love, Love & Laughter, Dictionary
Ink: Versamark, Blushing Bride, Rose Red, Basic Grey
Paper: Blushing Bride, Rose Red, Basic Grey core'dinations card, Naturals Ivory, Very Vanilla, vellum, Silver Glimmer paper
Tools: Envelope Punch Board, Word Bubble framelits, Thinlit card dies (label), Full heart punch, Small heart punch
I think this one falls under the 'clean and layered' category... although it may be leaning towards 'freestyle collage' a bit as well... maybe..?
Thanks for stopping by...

I wanted to play along with this week's 200th Colour Q challenge so I combined it with the fab Deconstructed Sketch this week...
I wanted to use the beautiful hostess set Simply Sketched for this as well as my new Dictionary backgrounds stamp (love!)...
I stamped the flower image onto watercolour paper with Stazon and coloured with Old Olive, Marina Mist and Midnight Muse inks and an aquapainter. I stamped an additional flower, coloured and cut out then popped over the top for added dimension. The sentiment (from the same set) was stamped underneath with Stazon as well. The So Saffron panel is core'dinations card, embossed with the Beautifully Baroque EF and sanded. The Marina Mist panels in the background were stamped with the Dictionary background with Marina Mist ink, and all the panels were layered onto Midnight Muse card. I added a Midnight Muse heart (cut from core-dinations card with the Fashionable Hearts embosslit die) and some retired Old Olive ribbon as well as a vintage faceted button with some white bakers twine. I couldn't resist adding a few candy dots (LOVE these things!) in white to finish off.
I hope you've enjoyed your weekend, wherever you are!
