I don't read too many YA novels. This summer I did read Sherman Alexie's The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian and absolutely loved it! Last night, Alexie was on the The Colbert Report, one of my favorite TV programs. Alexie was a great guest--and kept pace with the witty Colbert during his interview. Thanks so much for this link! I have a newly-autographed (to my girls!) copy of the book sitting here, waiting for me to read it, like a little gift. I heard him speak a few weeks ago. I can't wait to read it.

Lucky you! I hope I have an opportunity to hear Alexie speak some day. He's so smart--and so funny. He writes wonderful poetry, too.
