autumn interior update
Saturday 5th of October
After nine years we discovered that this is the perfect place for the vintage carpet, that I found at the carpet auction at Abdelkarim's in the in Marrakech in 2015.

late summer living
New art on the wall.
Love these late summer days and the new view.
The vintage Geoffrey Harcourt chair is dressed in an old crocheted tablecloth and my handmade LOVE cushion.
You can download the filet crochet pattern in my ETSY SHOP.

checkered chocolate coat
A spontaneous painting project on Wednesday morning. I made a checkered chocolate coat for an old red wooden tiny table, just because I felt like painting.
... and the orange flower buds of the clivia (i bought last week) opened up in my favorite cheerful color, orange!

power of plants
Our exuberant ficus elastica - once rescued at the plant store in the 'damaged houseplant corner' with a only a few (broken) leaves - has been joined by a clivia, which is about to bloom in orange.
The way i see it, the house is never too green and are the stacks of plates are never too high...

mi casa, mimosa
Wednesday 20th of February
New things on the wall;
A graph by Cees Dolk Les arts florissants 41/50, purchased from our savings at the art library SBK Dordrecht.
A Paris plate by Nathalie Lete for Anthropologie.
A mega ceramic cigale of 30 centimeters.
We had the last two objects in our house for a longer time and they were patiently waiting for a suitable spot on the (kitchen)wall.
I bought the ceramic fennel & beetroot years ago in Marrakech. They always hung outside on the fence in the backyard, but due to the stormy weather of the last few months I took them inside and gave them a safer place.
... and because it's mimosa month, I got a new bunch from henk. For I love it so much! We are eagerly awaiting spring, it's nice inside, but I'm really looking forward to garden life. Is it me or will this winter last forever?

mimosa pompoms
Yellow fluffy pompoms to brighten up the place!
I love mimosa and its characteristic fragrance, an early bloomer that cheers you up.
Saturday evening Henk organized a Portuguese dinner for our friends Jan & Els. As always, everything was arranged down to the last detail by my creative chef. We had a delicious dinner and a super fun evening. Our friends brought a bunch of mimosa and fritillaria in pots that are about to bloom. Els knows exactly what I like! Both by far my February favorites...

ever-changing interior
Noverber 2023
Same furniture, different setup.
The 'oversized' plants needed more space & daylight. Previously this year, We adopted a 'sad Strelitzia' from Minne. The plant completely recovered in our backyard this summer and had grown to a large size. Now that it's getting colder the houseplant has to go inside. The 'green invasion' called for change.
So we moved my desk in front of the window and 'borrowed' an old table from another corner to create a cozy nook with the tulip chairs.
Everything has been reused, nothing new, but a completely different vibe. We are more than satisfied with the new autumn/winter living room. And luckily we both like moving things around.

new on the table
New on the table:
Being Bardot, Brigitte photographed by Douglas Krikland and Terry O'Neill, a gift from Henk.
To me October is the time of year to brighten up the interior. Moving furniture around and making appealing corners.
