Golden Glow

Sometimes it is a waiting game until the right person walks into the small shaft of light that brightens up the scene.

A Real Summer Evening

Soaking up the last of the sun for the day.  We have had fabulous weather this week.

Golden Glow

The afternoon sun turned another wise rather dull building (a business centre) into a golden gem.

More Lights

Another installation in the Lumiere Festival.  Projected onto the Bafta Building in Piccadilly light that looks like splashes of paint accompanied by music.

The Bike and The Light

What a difference the right light can make to an image.  A bike against the railings was not terribly interesting, but with the sun in just the right place, the shadows have made it a rather more interesting picture, don't you think?

Light & Colour

It was more than the exhibits inside the museum that caught my eye. The colour and the light reflecting on the external walls drew me outside.

Pretty at Night

It's not a terribly attractive building nor is it of grand significance, however I  thought it rather pretty in the evening bathed in golden light.

Light through the Tunnel

You've heard of light at the end of the tunnel, even better when light travels the entire tunnel.  Ok weak but you come up with something better.

Beer Glasses

I spotted this unique light  of a bunch of beer handles in a pub the other day.

It's the 10th annual design festival in London. Running for 10 days it features hundreds of events showcasing the best in design from furniture to wallpaper to glassware, from British and international designers. Designer Lee Broom was British designer of the year in 2011 and he's nominated again this year, so I went along to his studio to see what he would do this year for the festival.

He has styled his studio into a general store, with sawdust on the floor and mahogany shop fittings than give you a sense of stepping back into the Victorian era, and collaborated with the Cumbria Crystal factory for hand blown, crystal light bulbs, hand cut and engraved by their artisan glass makers. An extra bonus, you can buy these beautiful pieces at his store.

A Walk in the Country

I've returned from a lovely weekend in the country, looking for light and sun. Not much of the latter over the weekend but London is promising a lovely sunny day today.

Light

I was passing by a little shop that had several workman inside busy with major renovations. I saw the light on the wall and knocked on the door to ask to be let in to take this photo. When I left they were standing looking admiring the light themselves.

Rainbow

I'm hoping for all the luck that supposedly comes with a rainbow. Pretty enough to make me look at something other than a computer screen. (see past few days).
